Cottage Profile Cedar Rock Cottage! This airy three bedroom cottage is located in the shores of Leith approximately 10 km north of Owen Sound. The cottage is a spacious open concept with vaulted wood paneled ceilings. The grounds, decks and shore are all available for your use. The living room/dining room has double walkout sliding glass doors onto the wrap-around deck looking through the cedars to Owen Sound Bay. Step out, settle into a deck chair and relax with a book and a cool drink. From here you can take in some of the most breathtaking sunsets ever seen. Walk down to the lake for a cooling dip on a warm, dog day afternoon. Entry into t...he protected beach is ankle deep. The shoreline is a mixture of sand and cobble having gradual entry into the water with good swimming. The water is sparkling clear and cool but bring some water-shoes for greater comfort. Toss in a line off the stone groyne if you're fishing afficionado - the rainbow trout are some of Georgian Bay's finest! The living room is furnished with a couch, chair, and a radio. There is also a woodstove to take the chill off on those cool summer and fall nights. A 37 inch LCD TV is provided. Adjacent to the living area is a fully equipped kitchen. You will find a fridge, stove, microwave and oven. There is lots of counter space to prepare some great meals. A skylight provides warm rays of sunshine on those bright days. The dining table is just off of the kitchen. It seats six comfortably with a wonderful view out to the bay. The living room has two skylights allowing natural sunlight to fill the room. Pick your sunbeam. Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed with south and west facing windows to the lake. Closet space is ample. Dressers and a mirror are also available. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin finely crafted estate Victorian-style poster beds. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed with an attractive patchwork quilt. A sitting table is situated by the window. The bathroom is attractively decorated and very modern. You will find a toilet, sink and tub-surround (with shower and bathtub). Laundry facilities are also provided in an alcove of the bathroom. Magnificent luscious grounds surround the cottage. There are gardens on the lee side of the cottage. There is a propane BBQ located adjacent the deck. Take your cooked dinner inside to the dinner table or take in a great meal on the deck while overlooking beautiful Georgian Bay. On the beach and in the shelter of the north groyne, you will find a firepit on Georgian Bay. The evening skys are open and provide a breathtaking view of the stars. After supper consider a stroll along the quiet cottage road and over the fence-style. Carry on down to Ainsley Wood Conservation Area and hunt tadpoles or crayfish in the river. This is a perfect place to delight the children or rediscover an old pastime with them or alone. The cottage is located within a 10-minute drive of the City of Owen Sound with its shops, fine dining, art gallery (Tom Thomson Art Gallery), live theater, movie theaters and museums (Grey Roots and Marine and Rail). There is also great bicycling in the area. Most of the rural roads are paved and many follow the Georgian Bay shoreline. Regrettably, neither dogs nor smoking is permitted within the cottage.

  This was our first time renting a cottage. It was a great experience. The cottage is in a beautiul location. Swimming is great once you get past the rock bottom, bring your water shoes. The cottage itself, is immaculate and offers anything and everything you need or want on your holiday. It is very private and peaceful. There are unique local attractions and you are never far from a trail or conservation area. The neighbours are very friendly and so are the dogs! The sunsets are breathtaking.

  Cottage was clean, filled with beautiful antiques and decor. Comfortable deck overlooking the water and sheltered from offshore breezes. On nice evenings sat out and watched the sunsets. Best event was the evening bonfire by the water and looking at the stars. Quiet neighbourhood. Bike riding in the area was great-good area trails!
  Tom Thompson museum was great too. Fishing was a disappointment however, -didn't catch the big one(not much action in August). Cottage was very much enjoyed by my elderly parents and water was clean, clear and warm! Highly recommended.
