Description from the owner
This house is unique in being within such easy access of the Oxford City centre. It is literally 5 minutes walk from the Ashmolean Museum, and all the other attractions that Oxford has to offer. It is on the Oxford Canal in a buzzy part of Oxford near restaurants and clubs, yet only a short walk up the canal towpath to Port Meadow. It is genuinely city centre, and it is very rare to find a self-catering property this central available for short lets of less than a week.
Ideally my minimum let is 2 nights and that incurs a surcharge. 3 or more are the normal rate; weekends are a premium.

Additional notes from owner
I say minimum stay is 2 nights as I offer weekends but in the summer peak period from June to mid September I prefer a minimum of 7 nights so although the calendar might indicate you can book 2 nights, I reserve the right to decline. However, because i do NOT have a fixed arrival/dep day, i do get left with short periods, so it is worth enquiring. 2 nights midweek would normally be accommodated in the summer.
It is worth sending me an email if you have special requirements, or want a longer let and I will adjust the rent, but ideally this will be for more than 4 weeks.
The surcharge of £30 is applied for all stays midweek of 1 or 2 nights, and a single night at a weekend, if available within 2 weeks of arrival date, will incur a surcharge of £60 (so £390 for one night).
Paypal and Bank transfer fees to be paid by Guest and can be deducted from deposit as would parking permits if offered/taken up.

LondonA lovely cottage in the heart of Oxford
Left on 04/03/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This property is a very spacious property right in the centre of Oxford, literally only a few minutes walk to most of the main attractions. The property itself is a tall Victorian (I presume) townhouse, and is certainly very quaint. The property was well furnished, perfectly clean, very comfortable and included a very well stocked book case!
It's hard to imagine somewhere better to stay in the middle of Oxford! -

Lewes, United KingdomVery good location but poorly furnished
Left on 03/25/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Delighted with the location and with the helpfulness of the owner regarding parking. However the living room in particular is poorly furnished with an inadequate number of comfortable chairs. This has been brought to the attention of the owner via the visitors' book but she does not agree. The single bed is very poor. The general level is more akin to student accommodation.

Owner
We are sorry that this guest felt the house to be inadequately furnished. When the guest first enquired about the property, she was told that the single bed is a futon bed, and low to the ground. Its comfort is a subjective matter - many people love it! The visitors were three couples, and there are three other double beds in the property. The living room cannot have armchairs for seven people as it doubles up as a dining room. This gives guests more flexibility - most visitors use the cottage as a comfortable base from which to explore Oxford, as it is so central. We hope future guests will read other reviews on this website and strongly believe that the house is far superior to even the best student accommodation available.

This was a perfect location for our group of 5. Walking distance to train and main bus stations. Easy walk to city center and the university. Pandora was so helpful. She took care of our every need. And the walk along the canal was very interesting.

The bride's and groom's parents and siblings stayed here for the Oxford Sept. wedding. This rental worked fine for all 8 of us though it is the typical small European townhouse. It has 3 floors with a bathroom on the first and second, and 2 bedrooms on the second and 2 on the third floors. It became home after a week. The location was perfect! No car- we walked everywhere. It was nice to save money by cooking in for some meals. The owner was so helpful and patient with all my questions beforehand. We were sad to say good-bye to our Oxford "home." A small problem getting in, but the owner came right over to help.

Oxford is a lovely little town that is best done by foot and this house allowed us to do precisely that. You can walk everywhere including the bus and train stations. It was right next to the Oxford canals which was nice to walk or run along in. We had a lovely time. The place is a narrow 3 level townhouse unit. Older travelers may have a harder time with the stairs but it wasn't an issue for us.
The only thing is payments are by bank transfer only which incurred bank fees for the deposit, the balance and then the deduction from the deposit on the stay. I have not used direct rentals before and am not sure if this is the norm. -

ChicagoTwo days in Oxford
Left on 05/23/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This stay involving 7 family members came at the end of a 7 day boating trip up the Thames from Chertsey-Staines to Benton. The apartment can just hold 7 people (3 floors, 2 bedrooms with double beds, 1 small room with a single bed, sofa in downstairs living room which makes up into a double bed and complete bathrooms on the first and second floors). The location couldn't possibly be better. About 1-2 blocks from the main bus station and rail station , in opposite directions, and easy walking distance from all of the colleges and museums. The building fronts on the canal which has a very nice walking path besides it. Our host rode her bicycle to the bus station to meet us and direct us to the apartment. She then gave us a run down on the apartment and recommended restaurants and sights for visiting which all turned out to be excellent. It didn't hurt that the weather was also fantastic during our stay.

LondonA* Location and good alternative to a hotel!
Left on 09/24/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The cottage is in the centre of Oxford, a quick walk from the railway station and really close to a range of excellent restaurants/bars. I have to say that the owner of the property Pandora provided an excellent service, from giving us a good rate for a last minute booking to posting to us for free some forgotton items. She was really helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The accomodation was reallly suited to us (6 girls), we had lots of space to move around in and all home comforts were there (tv/dvd/Wifi/well equipped kitchen) although we didn't spend that much time in the property since we were out and about in glorious Oxford. Great stay!

Santa Cruz, Californiaclean, comfortable house near city centre
Left on 09/19/2010 for a stay in September 2010
The house we perfect for our needs: lots of room, well-appointed kitchen, a sunny back garden, TV, dining room. It's only a five-minute walk from both the coach and train stations, and 10 minutes from the city centre, and is right on the canal, so walking to the north of town and Port Meadow is easy. The owner was friendly, and extremely helpful for all our needs. A big thumbs up!!

This propery was even better than we expected and in a fabulous location so that no one missed having their car. It was a home away from home and had everything we needed. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and her local knowledge made booking restaurants and organising a birthday cake very easy. I would recommend the ashmolean Museum, the anchor pub and the Oxon Carts rickshaw tours. We will be back.

Excellent location (really central but also quiet as located in side street next to the river), lovely house and in very good condition. Had personal contact with the owner who is very friendly and helpful. We felt at home at once - nice little terrace attached to the house as well!
