This place is amazing. The view from the terrace is outstanding and all the amenities are great! The apartment has everything you need and more, even little toys for my baby and a crib. Great TV channels, more than a 100 to choose. Very well decorated and cozy. Besides that the owners are excellent, great, very very nice people. We felt so welcome and at home. They really help with anything you need and are always with a smile in the face. My husband, I and our baby just loved our stay at Villa Donna. We'll definately come back as soon as possible.

Generally I never write reviews, however, the owners of this property were so extremely nice that I just had to! I think that anyone that has stayed here can attest to this!
About the apartment
Basically, what is shown in the pictures is what you get. The apartment itself was in a perfect location to get to the many attractions San Diego has to offer. That being said, we had a car, so I'm not sure if it would be an ideal place to stay if you didn't.
We always felt safe in the neighbourhood and went for daily evening walks with our two children ages 3 and 1. It was never loud during the night and the view from the patio is amazing!
Besides what is stated on the website, there was also many items available for young families such as a playpen, booster chair, aero twin bed, beach toys, etc. Also included was everyday items like ziploc bags, tinfoil, saran wrap, etc. that you don't necessarily want to buy, but just need a couple of. There are also coolers, beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach with you if needed.
About the owners
We've rented many homes in the past and this is by far the best we have been treated. The owners (Donna and Bill) are around just enough so that they can meet all of your needs. They made us feel welcome and I never hesitated to ask questions or express any concerns. They even offered to get our groceries for us on arrival if we wanted, we just had to send them a list! Personally, I think all vacation rental owners should stay here just to learn from them :)

We are a family of four with two young kids (4 and 6) and have stayed in many vacation rentals from Florida to Hawaii and simply put, this is one of the best experiences we've had. The home is beautiful, the city is amazing and the warm and caring hospitality from the owners made our stay very special.
The home is beautifully decorated, warm and relaxing. It is extremely well stocked...everything you could need in the kitchen, a plentiful supply of linens, laundry supplies and even toiletries. There's also everything available for a full day at the beach, including beach toys. The home is very clean and everything is in proper working order.
There are two separate, private terraces, both with ocean views. One has a small pool and jacuzzi. The other is very spacious with lots of seating, a BBQ and spectacular views.
We have only traveled to San Diego for a one day stay or for business in the past. So this was our first time really getting a chance to explore the city. We stayed for one week and felt as though we just touched the surface. Our favorite places were the coves along Lo Jolla Beach, Coronado Island and Balboa Park. The San Diego Zoo was incredible and of course Sea World is always a fun time. We found the city very easy to navigate and the property seemed quite centrally located.
Donna gave us a thorough overview of the place when we arrived and encouraged us to contact her any time if we had concerns. She provides a binder outlining various restaurants, grocery stores and attractions with map printouts and travel times. It really came in handy and we referenced it numerous times. We had a few opportunities to socialize with Donna and Bill and thoroughly enjoyed their company.
We hope to return to San Diego in the not too distant future and would definitely stay here again. I would highly recommend this property to our friends and family!Response from Donna Reese Gentile - 03/11/2012

Best place in San Diego to stay. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Donna. Just blocks from the beach, and readily accessable to San Diego's many destinations, we were able to enjoy many memorable moments during our stay. The house was very clean and roomy. We liked best the relaxed atmosphere, the arrangement of the rooms, the kitchen, the patio with this amazing million dollar view. You're able to see Downtown, Coronado Island, Sea World, Mission Beach and even Mexico! Donna & Bill are gracious hosts, there when we needed to talk to them, but giving us privacy at all other times. Whenever we will come back, we will try to stay there again. Thank you so much!

We stayed here for a week in late February and had a lovely time. The apartment was beautifully furnished with all mod cons and the terrace overlooking San Diego and La Jolla was stunning. The little pool and jacuzzi area was great, but sadly the weather was a bit too cold to let us enjoy them every day. The owners Donna & Bill could not have been more accommodating and even invited us to join them for a beautiful cooked breakfast in their house above the apartment. The location is excellent. Shops and beaches of La Jolla and San Diego itself are only a short drive away. We would happily recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a nice & peaceful holiday.
