The Hohe's (HOY'S) Studio Beach Cottage is located on the grounds of our personal Beach House. A private residence in an upscale, North Pacific Beach neighborhood bordering La Jolla. You can hear the waves breaking as you sleep.
Close to all... the Beach, Boardwalk, Restaurants, Night Life, and Shopping,, yet quietly removed from the hubs of activity for a nice night's sleep.

The Hohe's (HOY) Studio Beach Cottage resides on the grounds of our personal Beach House, in North Pacific Beach. You are only steps (3-4 min.walk) to "the area's best beach" (S.D. Home And Garden Mag.).
Aside from all our great amenities, perhaps our greatest asset is simply the wonderful area in which we are located. A nice residential neighborhood, that is close to all... the Beach, Boardwalk, Restaurants, Night Life, and Shopping... yet quietly removed from the hubs of activity for a nice night's sleep.

This was a great location minutes from beach (walking). My dogs,husband and I enjoyed the patio and kitchen amenities(refrigerator,microwave and eating utensils) and close proximity to restaurants as well as the area. Attention to detail was great.

My husband and I stayed in the Hohe's studio cottage for a week over the 4th of July. From the reviews that we read, it was everything we expected and more. If you are looking for a quaint, comfortable, clean, and private place to stay, do not hesitate contacting Steve and Karron Hohe. They also provide all the amenities that you will possibly need. Steve and Karron are the most friendly and hospitable people, and they will make every effort to be sure you will have a comfortable stay. Pacific Beach is just a 3 minute walk and so beautiful. We hope to rent from them again when visiting San Diego.

We had such a wonderful relaxing time during our stay over Christmas break. It was just a hop, skip and a jump to the beach. Everything we could have wanted (bikes, blankets, chairs, etc.) was available! The room is perfect and everything is so clean.
It was really convenient having the BBQ and the outside sitting area which is beautifully landscaped. They make it so easy for you to make the most of your holiday. We hope to make it back there again in the future! -

I reserved a stay at the Hohe House based on the reviews here on Tripadvisor and I left wanting to return in the future, it's excellent. Came here with my wife for our first wedding anniversary and it truly is like a hidden cottage, quiet neighborhood yet you can hear the waves crashing and it's a two minute walk to the beach. Also, as quiet as the neighborhood is, the restaurants and hustle isn't too far away with a quick walk or bicycle (which comes with the property rental, very nice touch). The decor has a very classic SD beach-feel, with many trinkets and pictures, books, etc. The patio/garden area is really nice and we enjoyed sitting there to drink coffee (fresh roasted beans are provided along with a grinder amongst a myriad of other kitchen utensils and appliances in the (efficiency kitchen") despite the weekend being a bit chilly with some rain off and on. The interior is cozy and the bathroom is really nice, the attention to detail is wonderful. Oh the bed is super comfortable as well (big important factor for me personally) so I woke up each morning feeling quite refreshed! There's also everything you'd need for a weekend getaway provided and it was nice coming back to this place versus a standard, boring hotel. The Hohes really have an excellent setup and I don't think there's anything we'd want changed. Will definitely be looking to book another stay in 2012 should we make a return trip to the SD area and highly recommend the Hohe House for any couple looking to enjoy a few days of relaxation and fun in one shot. Thank you again Steve and Karron for providing us a wonderful location to celebrate our first anniversary!

This 1-block off Palisades Park north Pacific Beach rental is super! It's attached to the Hohe's ("Hoy's") home but you won't know it - you might or might not even see them during your stay, unless you need them. When we arrived, the french doors were standing open for us (self check-in :-)) - all we could hear was the ocean! It's a tight space for 2 people but has everything you need - Comfortable bed, clean/nicely appointed bathroom, "Kitchen-in-a-closet" (cute), nice compact entertainment center with, I might add, an ecclectic offering of relaxing music CDs, outside private patio that's super nice, outside locker full of all the beach stuff you'll need, nice bicycles for a boardwalk or other cruise, & more!! I happened to run into Steve Hohe - he's got some collection of surfboards - and he loaned me a wetsuit for my boogie boarding adventure (Thanks, Steve). I could write on for awhile, but want to mention one other thing. The Hohe's provide one off-street parking space - now, we visited in mid-October but I can tell you that parking space is probably worth its weight in gold during the summer. ...Oh, our little dachschund wants you to know that he liked it, too!

What can I say. The stay was very relaxing. The guest room and the service were awesome. Karron and Steven were the best. Made you feel at home just down to earth people. I can't wait for my next visit. I recommend this place to everyone. The private patio was breathtaking, just a minute walk to the ocean. They provided everything that you needed. A home away from home.

My husband and I have stayed at the Studio Beach Cottage many times. The location is perfect for us: very close to the beach, in a quiet neighborhood, and a short walk to numerous restaurants, shops, and stores. We love having our morning coffee and bagels (the studio includes the basics: coffee maker, toaster, refrig, microwave) on the private patio just outside the studio door, soaking up the sun and, when we're lucky, watching hummingbirds flying just a few feet away. The best word I can think of for this setting is "serene." The hosts, Steve and Karron, are exceptionally respectful of their guests' privacy; they are there when you need them with information and advice regarding San Diego activities, but never intrude. We absolutely recommend this property as the perfect place to stay at the beach:

My husband & I loved our stay in the Hohe House studio. The suite was perfect in every way. It was extremely well appointed. We felt like special guests in a private, cozy little hide away. The location was great! Very quiet and so close to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants and shops. Steven & Karron are the perfect hosts. Friendly, helpful and they have gone the extra mile in decorating the suite. They provide everything you need and more. There is nothing we didn't like about our time spent there and will make Hohe House our first choice to stay when we return to San Diego.

I have been going to Pacific Beach for 22 years. I've stayed in many places and this rental is by far the best for couples. Karon and Steve, San Diego natives, also have a bigger place for families; which is also the best. I plan my vacation or extended weekends around availability of this special place.It has a gorgeous private courtyard which is perfect for morning coffee, evening drinks, and reading. No need to haul beach towels, or other cumbersome beach gear. All are provided along with bikes;which save you $25 a day each. Place is located 1 minute from a beautiful park overlooking the ocean; perfect for sunsets. The ocean is a 90 second walk.Fun restraunts and bars are close. Karon and Steve, being natives, can also recommend great places, within walking distance, that are favored by the locals. First rate place managed by first rate couple.

Totally enjoyable experience. Stayed there several times and will return. Also stayed twice in the 2 bedroom which has a full kitchen. Both are stocked with beach items, micro, silverware, plates, towels, soaps, etc. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Cute outside area with table. In the studio, French doors, TV, phone.
Lots of pillows, dresser, closet, micro, small fridge,closet, table, and outside fenced in area. Close to shopping. Wish I owned it. So much like home and tons better than a hotel! -

We have rented the studio, the house on
Dixie, and the upstairs apartment from Steve. Our son lives in San Diego, so we visit as often as possible. Steven makes each home warm, inviting, and cozy. He and his wife are wonderful people who take great care of the property, and their guests, and make you feel completely welcome and comfortable. The location is perfect! Close to beach, restaurants, bike and walking paths. Just don't rent it when we want it!! haha -

I have been coming to the Hohe house for over 3 years now. And I plan to keep coming back. :-) Steve and Karron are very friendly and accommodating. This location is literally steps to the beach. We can hear the ocean from the doorway. :-)
I would recommend this to anyone that is interested in staying close to the beach and the night life of PB. -
