I like a master bedroom with its' own bathroom. Both master suites shared with either the third bdr. or rest of the house. TV went out for one full day. Bathrooms wouldn't flush unless done manually. Necessitated being interrupted with repairmen and plumber too often. Neighborhood questionable. Police arrested a man across the street during our one week there.
House decorated tastefully. House well insulated evidently because we never had to turn on the heat. Read more
Obviously we were extremely distressed to read your comments since we've had such excellent reviews of Heart's Ease (and so many repeat guests). I suspect that you are a homeowner, and therefore you know that every home has a lot of working parts. Sometimes "things happen all at once," and apparently (and most unfortunately) that seems to have happened during your visit.
A few things have come to light since I contacted you to discuss this review. The chain came loose from the flapper inside the toilet, and though our handyman reattached it the same day, it came loose again. He attempted to fix it a second time and when that failed he called our plumber, who discovered that the handle also needed to be replaced. Because this home has high-end fixtures (Newport Brass) he had to special order a new lever, but he made sure both toilets were working properly before he left. Nonetheless we totally understand your frustration with multiple interruptions (not to mention having to flush "manually" by pulling up the chain for a period of time).
You were also very gracious about the TV issue (the audio receiver had to be re-set). Though we schedule our repairman during the day when our guests are out exploring, evidently you were home, and this was yet another interruption.
Of course we are most troubled about your reference to an arrest, since Pacific Grove is a small town with a low crime rate (dubbed "America's Last Hometown"). We consider this a very safe neighborhood (the only problem we've had in two years of management is the occasional noise complaint, when guests are enjoying the outdoor fire pit).
We checked with the Pacific Grove Police Department and they show no record of any arrest in the area during the dates of your stay, so we still can't figure out what happened. Obviously you didn't make this up, and we can imagine how uncomfortable this made you feel. We are deeply sorry this incident occurred during your vacation.
You have been staying with us for the past ten years, so we must have been doing something right in the past. We apologize for all the issues you experienced during your stay and hope you will visit us again to give us the opportunity to turn that "2" rating into a "5."
Property met all expectations and very comfortable.

We had a great time in the Pacific Grove area. Heart's Ease is a lovely home. It had everything that made our visit so nice! The set up of the house is so that we could all be together or still have a nice quiet spot to read etc. Perfect!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Heart's Ease. The home has been tastefully remodeled and features craftsman touches throughout. The kitchen is especially nice, spacious and nicely appointed. Adults and children slept comfortably. The home's proximity to beaches, golf course, and playgrounds was especially welcome. Highly recommended.
Beautifully remodeled home!

This home was perfect for our family of 5. There was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy together and seperately. There were two seperate living areas, multiple access points to the backyard. Location was good for beaches & golf course but not very close to the Downtown area near the aquarium. There is a trolley stop about a 5 minute walk away. Enjoyed the kitchen and firepit in the backyard as well as the bikes and passes to the aquarium. Home was very clean and comfortable.
