Stay in the stunning Market House, a restored market building from in the 1930’s. This 2.5 bedroom, 2 bath home is beautifully decorated with antiques that celebrate Hawaii’s rich history. It is equipped with a full kitchen, spacious sitting and dining area, laundry facilities and a wood porch.

It is located next to Pahala Plantation House in a neighborhood with large trees. Walking distance to library, parks, store, bank, swimming pool, gym, and tennis courts. Five minutes to Punalu`u Black Sand Turtle Beach.

Neighborhood: Walkable community in the old sugar cane town of Pahala, Hawai'i. The town is located between the two entrances to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and is immediately surrounded by macadamia nut orchards, cattle ranches and coffee farms. Beautiful ocean and mountain views can be seen from the town. Pahala is mostly dry and sunny but it does rain on occasion, mostly in the wet season (winter and spring). Sit back, sip some award-winning Ka'u Coffee, and relax in "old Hawai'i". Swim, snorkel and sunbathe with sea turtles at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, 7 minutes away. Tour coffee farms and the Ka'u Coffee Mill, 5 minutes away.

Parking and transport: off-street parking for each cottage, free. Off-islanders - we recommend renting a car. There is a bus route but it is slow, often crowded and only runs once in the morning and once in the evening each direction per day. Hawai'i Island is much larger than other Hawaiian Islands (it will take more than a day to tour the island) and we are located in the least populated district - the South side. It takes an average of 1-1.5 hours from Hilo Airport and 1.5-2 hours to Kona Airport, depending on your speed (we have a minimum, 40, and a maximum speed limit, 55, on the highway). Please make sure to pick up main food items, specialty/dietary foods, and favorite brands in Hilo or Kona as the local convenience store has limited supplies.
