Villa Poggi is a beautiful villa located 30 km from Pisa. The view from the villa is brilliant and villa itself is located on a very tranquil and quiet estate. The area in which the villa is found on historical records and around the VII BC, people of the Etruscan civilization are said to have lived here. Interestingly, in the villa garden, towards the left, there is a lemon-house which was originally an Etruscan tomb! The villa has been restored with great care, ensuring that it merges well with its surroundings and that that there is an air of history and culture around the ambience of the villa. There is greenery in every corner of the vil...la. The garden and the park are not only visual treats by themselves but also offer some breathtaking views of the hills. These views can be enjoyed from the terrace in front of the villa that has comfortable seating. Towards the left you will find a typical Italian garden setting complete with fountains, statues, Mediterranean trees and floral plants. You are sure to remember the sights and smells of this garden for a long time to come. A small flight of stairs lead you to an area with a rose garden, a few more Mediterranean plants, and cypress trees. At a lower level, there are fruit trees, whose flowers are in full bloom in spring. The huge 7x14 swimming pool is placed right in the center of the lawn. There is also an annex surrounded by greenery. It has a patio, suitable for alfresco dining - there are tables, chairs and even a barbecue. VILLA INTERIOR The interiors are based on Mediterranean and antique Tuscan styles. Main villa The main villa is centrally heated and air-conditioned. The ground floor has a huge living and dining area with a grand fireplace and satellite TV. There is a lovely piano too (for use by professionals only!). The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator (with an ice maker), microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. This level also has a WC and a nice well-furnished verandah. The first floor is in studio style - there is a huge double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (equipped with tub and shower). The second floor has 2 double bedrooms with private bathrooms (equipped with bath and shower). There is also a single bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Annex This part of the villa is also centrally heated and air-conditioned. The ground floor has a kitchen/dining area and a verandah with chairs and tables. The first floor, which is a loft, has a double bed, a wardrobe and a bathroom with shower. The nearest town is Palaia at 3.8 km and has banks, post offices, restaurants and bars. The nearest train station is at Pontedera (15 km), from where there are trains to Florence.
