& Casino and the beautiful Palm beaches where you can find all imaginable water-sports.
A bus-stop is also 3 minutes away, which can bring you to bars, restaurants and shopping

The main house has 2 very large suites, 2 bedrooms and 1 attached guesthouse
which can each be rented separately.

Forget the elevator lines and wait. The hike from your room to the pool. Noisy neighbors. Just spent a week at Modern World aruba in the two bedroom guesthouse and cannot imagine staying anywhere else in aruba. Everything was a+++. Erna is hands on and whatever you need, want, desire is immediate. The perfect host. You couldn't ask for a better location - Palm beach - two minutes, Eagle beach 5 minutes, Arashi beach 8 minutes. Just perfect. I never write reviews...but couldn't wait to tell anyone heading to aruba how much we loved it here. (Hugs to Tony too.) Already figuring out when I can get back.

My wife and I came here a few weeks ago and stayed a week. Erna is a gracious host and definitely makes you feel like family when you come here. This was the first time we stayed at a villa and feel like we would most likely do it again. The room we stayed in was the pool suite and it was nice to be able to just walk out of our room everyday and dive into the pool. It's a short walk from everything on Palm beach. If we ever return to aruba we'll be sure to come back here again!

We stayed with Erna for two weeks in early april. Had a wonderful time. After a day at the beach, we would say "let's go back home to Erna's' -- that is how comfortable we felt.
Her home is elegant and has the feel of a private, luxurious retreat. Our 2nd floor room was beautiful. It has a very large bathroom and comfy king bed.
We purchased breakfast and lunch food on our way to Erna's when we arrived. Stored the food in the small fridge in our room. Had a light breakfast and packed sandwiches for lunches on the beach most days. We Bbq'd burgers and chicken two nights. Ernade us a delicious grouper dinner one night. The outdoor patio\dinning area is so great to eat at. Erna also made us an omelette and Dutch banana pancakes for breakfast on two occasions.
It's a 5 minute walk to the Marriott, beach, casino and Palm Beach. You can get free chairs at Moomba restaurant, which is a five-minute walk on the beach south of the Marriott. We made the mistake of paying $30 for a palapa and 2 chairs directly beside Mooba's our first day! We then realized the yellow chairs were Moomba's and free if you ordered one drink. Did not pay for chairs there from then on.
We found Palm Beach very crowded. Most days, we went to Eagle Beach, near Druif Beach. It's a 10 minute bus ride or 5 min car ride. We had stayed at the Divi all inclusive before; you can buy alcohol tickets for < than $5 and have access to their grounds as a non-inclusive guest. This also allows you to use their chairs and palapas if there are empty ones. Given we were there during a slower time, this was no problem. We also loved having an end-of-the-day drink at the Divi's bar, which is right on the beach.
Overall, this was our best Caribbean experience. If get the chance of staying at Erna's, who by the way, is a beautiful ,energetic and kind Dutch woman, do it!!! -

This was quite possibly one of the best vacations with a large group of friends that we've every been on. To build on Hannah P's review - we had a blast. Erna was such a gracious host - so attentive to our needs, so friendly, and so welcoming. The property was immaculate - clean and comfortable. Erna is also a fantastic cook - we were treated to delicious snacks throughout our stay... from fresh grouper to dutch specialties! The house is s a short walk to the beach, and close to many other amenities. The perfect getaway for a couple or large group of friends looking to enjoy some time in aruba without having to deal with the masses at the resort hotels. I'd highly recommend to anyone, and hope to visit aruba and Erna again one day.

We travelled to aruba for a wedding and our flight was cancelled on the way...Erna was so gracious and allowed us to extend our stay with no problems. She's a wonderful host and provided delicious breakfasts and poolside snacks! The property was great for traveling with a large group, enough spaces for people to have privacy but great areas for group hanging. The pool area, cabana and outside BBQ provided all the amenities you could ask for outdoor aruban living. A short walk to the beautiful beach at a great price. Erna's recommendations for activities, dinners, etc were all perfect. We can't wait to return and lounge by the pool! Thank you Erna!

We just returned from one week in paradise. Modern World is perfectly located close to the Marriott. A quick walk anywhere. We rented a car and explored the island every day.
The house is even more beautiful than the pictures show. Erna is a wonderful hostess who never stops working and goes out of her way to make sure you feel welcome and at home. It is luxurious and elegant, yet relaxed and comfortable at the same time. We usually stay in high end resorts, but never again, this is our new favorite spot. I spent the plane ride home figuring out when I can return!!! It won't be long, we already miss aruba and Modern World. -

We just returned from spending Spring Break with Erna at her "Modern World aruba" Home. We were there for 4 nights and 5 days - not long enough. Her home is wonderful and Erna is such a delight. We had a great time and our College kids had a blast too. I am sure me and my husband will return back as soon as we are able to. I am already missing aruba and our private little piece of paradise at Modern World.

I spent 2 weeks at Modern World Aruba. It is hands down the best stay I have had in Aruba (and I have had 5 in 13 months). It was clean,spacious, and comfortable. Erna is amazing beyond words...friendly, helpful and truly loves hosting guests. It is close enough to everything yet affords some privacy to get away from it all. I have finally found my home away from home.

5 women friends just stayed here. I would recommend it to anyone. I own at the Marriott Surf Club but this place is superior to it. It was so clean, Erna always available to help you out. Try it. I think you will love it.

If you are considering aruba stay here! Do not go to the monster resorts across the street. This is the place to stay. Close to everything, great pool, amazing hostess. The best!! Erna who owns modern world is 1 of my favorite people in the world. Her place is pristine and welcoming and so relaxing!! I have been here twice now and will be back. Peace and Serenity 2 minute drive to the beach. Win win win!! If you go you will win as well. Enjoy

I got home yesterday after spending a week at Modern World aruba and I am already missing Erna and Michael! From the moment we pulled up out front, we were welcomed with a huge bear hug and a ten thousand kilowatt smile. We had four people staying with us, so we rented the private casa for the week. It is absolutely beautiful, with two king sized bedrooms, each with a full bathroom (with the best water pressure you've ever felt!). The room my best friend and I stayed in had an enormous walk in closet, which I immediately fell in love with (it also contained a sleeping cot in case of guests). The outside area is absolutely stunning and we spent most of our time there poolside. We were part of a larger group of about 12 people, all staying in different villas/hotels for a wedding, and everyone agreed that they would be staying with Erna on their next trip back to aruba. Even though we were in walking distance to all the resorts, all of our friends wanted to come over almost every night and Erna was incredibly welcoming and accomodating. She prepared a delicious dinner for all the ladies the night of the bachelorette party and everyone had a fantastic time. I just cannot express enough how amazing and generous Erna was to us. She took care of every detail that made us feel relaxed and happy. I would never even think of staying anywhere else in aruba!!

Way above my expectations ! I stayed at Erna's house my first of 3 weeks in aruba. She took such good care of me I didn't want to move to my timeshare. I was so spoiled ! Even after moving to my timeshare I went back a few times to visit because they were so much fun to hang with. They even had me over for dinner ! This lady can cook !
Everything about the property was amazing, pool, spa, patios, Immaculate!
The bedrooms and bathrooms have everything you need plus more. Quiet a/C.
The kitchen was complete with everything . Even the little things you usually have to buy at the store like paper towels, plastic wrap, foil...
If you Windsurf or Kiteboard like I do, the beach ( Fisherman Huts) is only a 2 min. drive.
One of the things I really liked is you don't have to pay for wifi and all the extra taxes and fees that the hotels and timeshares charge. There prices are very reasonable.
There is nothing not to like ! Next year I'll be staying at Modern World aruba the whole three weeks or longer ! -

At Modern World aruba, my wife and I felt like we were at Grandmom's home. The food was to our individual culinary choice. My family and I have been traveling for years. But never have we experienced such a family oriented atmosphere. Erna and her staff made us feel as if we were staying with family. They were very attentive. We were there for a little over a week and still it wasn't enough. They have all the amenities of home. My family and I are already planning our next visit. No words can describe our stay in aruba at Modern World aruba!!! The pictures does not do the house Justice. The owners Erna and Michael are the best! I cried when I left them. The house is a 7 minute walk to the beach. I love, love, love the house and the owners! Very clean and spacious.

We stayed for 6 days and Erna and her team made it an enjoyable experience for us. The villa is spacious, very clean, and has a contemporary and eclectic touch. The terrace, pool and hammock are great places to relax. There is a BBQ for you to use and a covered outside dining area. Beautiful beaches and many restaurants are in walking distance. You decide if you want the peace and quiet of the Villa or the action at restaurants, bars or casinos.

What a find! We found modern aruba by word of mouth from another b&b; owner on the island. If you are looking for affordable luxury this is the place. The rooms are spotless and just like staying at a 5 star hotel. Erna and Elles are so wonderful and caring. The pool and patio are fantastic. So chill and relaxing. I can not say enough wonderful things about Modern aruba. Stay away from the lame resorts and stay here. You wont be sorry! Have Fun!

Beautiful luxury holiday rental with an amazing pool and outdoor living area. We stayed for two weeks in February 2012 and enjoyed every minute. We had a large room on the second floor with a king size bed and an ocean-view balcony where we enjoyed our morning coffee every day. The location is safe and very convenient - the beach, restaurants, casinos and shopping are a 5 minute walk away and there is a direct bus to downtown Oranjestad or other beaches, right across the salinja. Owner Erna Deluca is a warm and gracious host who treated us like family. We recommend this resort highly!

We were treated like royalty. They arranged our pickup and delivery to & from the airport. Acommodations were very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. The beach, buses and restaurants were in close proximity as we walked most of the time. Irna and her staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Many thanks for making our two week stay a most enjoyable time.
