48786Review on villa stone
Left on 04/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012
We stayed at Villa Stone and we are reporting that all household items need to be cleaned and updated.
Kitchen- dishwasher had to be slammed shut to start wash cycle; water dispenser on the refrigerator door flooded the inside of fridge; ice maker did not work; glasses were not clean; cupboards were disorganized; ice bucket was rust covered.
Living Room- old couches, worn and uncomfortable; entrance door warped and screeched when opened.
Bathrooms-had a serious mold issue which is clearly a health risk. Large bathroom shower mat was contaminated with black mold; again a serious health issue, dirty, worn rugs in the large bathroom; towels were old, and torn; no bath mats; no wash cloths.
Bedrooms- windows in all bedrooms have sheer curtains that held a considerable build-up of dust, dirt and bugs; all bedding was old and gray with age and use; furniture in master had personal items that belonged to the owners.
Outside furniture- glass table frame is broken as a result of rust corrosion; all cushions thoroughly covered with and contaminated by mold; upper level lounge pad tie straps broken and/or rotted; the hammock was unusable due to age and deterioration.
Garage- full of what appeared to be discarded items of the owners; beach chairs were broken, pool rafts were too old for use, coolers were dirty.
Not only was the washer rusty, both the washer and dryer were filthy with discarded items piled on top of both.
If you want to be uncomfortable and sceeved out during your vacation, then this is the place to go.

As a rental agent I find reviews such as this extremely disturbing. We pride ourselves on our customer service. When a problem occurs it is our priority to rectify the situation as quickly as possible.
During this guest’s 1 month stay there were 14 emails, 10 texts, numerous calls & conversations between the guest and myself. Questions were asked & answered, complimentary cleaning dates were changed & confirmed, requests for info on future rentals.Text messages were sent by the guest to compliment the cleaning service saying "excellent job”. Not once was there a complaint on the condition, or cleanliness of the home or mention of any of the problems listed. Unfortunately when guests do not make us aware of things breaking during their visit, or repairs that need to be attended to things cannot be made right. We appreciate feedback both positive and negative. If problems are not brought to our attention we cannot relay the issues to the home owner to have them fixed or replaced for future guests. Some of the items mentioned in this review were finally brought to my attention at the time of check out. They were immediately sent to the owner. He personally had the items fixed. Interestingly other items the guest was bothered by I am hearing about for the 1st time in this letter.
The guests arrived in Aruba on 2/15.To accommodate their early arrival they were granted an early check in. A tour of the home took place at check in. Guests were made aware that the hammock was damaged, & that the dishwasher was temperamental, but was operating fine when shut tightly.
I received a call that same day about a problem with the fuse in the guest bedroom, & the guest thought the pool pump was not working. In response to this an electrician was sent within ½ hour to replace the fuse, the pool company also arrived within the hour. They reported that the pump was working fine. It was set on a timer to run over night and it would turn on & off automatically. I placed a follow up call to confirm everything was working, and was told everything was fine.
A 2nd message was received the next day that the dishwasher was not working; again I called a repair man to come. When I replied to the guest that I scheduled a repair I was told that the dishwasher was working after she shut the door tightly & that a repair was not needed. This was the last message that I received concerning any issues with the home.
Ice maker, water dispenser have been fixed, New towels & beach chairs were purchased, Garage was cleaned, owners personal items removed., Hammock has been fixed, all outdoor furniture cushions stored indoors when the home in empty.Washing machine runs perfectly. There is some rust along the bottom. This does not affect the machine. The owner has supplied a 4 seat wood table for outdoor dining. The home is cleaned regularly. Before & after each guest. Often the owner provides mid stay cleaning complimentary. 2 mid stay cleanings were provided to this guest. Cleaning staff cleaned the entire house including windows inside & out. She complimented their work & tipped them. She also sent a text message directly to me stating "excellent job, & thank you" at no time was mold in the bathrooms, dirty glasses etc mentioned. The furniture is less than 5 years old, cost over $20,000. & was imported. The sofa is made from distressed leather to have a rustic look. It is in good condition & comfortable to watch TV on the large flat screen TV.
It is not my practice to doubt people's intentions but in this case I have to question why? if a guest is so uncomfortable & in her words "sceeved" .would they stay in a home for an entire month without asking to have these things fixed. Especially with an open line of communication and cleaning staff present. It seems to me that this is a pattern for these guests. They complained at length about their former rental home at Tierra Del Sol. A 5 star community. Perhaps these guests are better suited to vacation at resorts that can meet their standards.
This home has been visited by many guests from many countries. We have never received a negative review; In fact the exact opposite. Most guests hope to return again in the future.
