You’ll feel at home the minute you step into this light filled 1962 Palmer and Kreisel designed masterpiece. This home retains much of its original early 1960’s character including original cabinetry, bathroom tiling and popcorn ceilings. You’ll find a unique collection of vintage art and furnishings blended beautifully with contemporary pieces and family heirlooms.

The great room is all about drama, with soaring 10’ vaulted ceilings crowned with triangular clearstory windows and a wall of windows that fill the room with beautifully balanced light. This 450 square foot room is made intimate with two comfortable, elegant se...ating arrangements and a glass topped dining table with room for six.

The great room opens to a partially covered patio which becomes an extension of the living space with additional seating for four around a fabulous driftwood coffee table. The patio is very private with mature plantings that screen the homes below but afford stunning views of mature palms, impeccably manicured lawn and the mountain views for which Palm Springs is justifiably famed. You even get a clear view of the historic fountain designed in the early 60’s by Walt Disney as it shoots water 100 feet into the air from the nearby Indian Canyons Golf Resort. The pool and spa are a short walk from the patio. You’ll really know you’re on vacation as you soak, surrounded by endless sky, mountains and delicately swaying palms.

The kitchen is a gourmet’s dream with double ovens, gas cooktop, microwave, dishwasher, and everything you’ll need to whip up cocktails and appetizers or a full course dinner party. You’ll find a full array of spices and condiments as well as essentials such as a classic Osterizer beehive blender, perfect for making a batch of margaritas or piña coladas. In addition to the expected pots and pans, you’ll find extras such as a Cuisinart food processer, waffle iron, rice cooker, salad spinner, crock pot, bead maker and a juicer. You’ll want to serve your culinary creation on period dishware, of course, and you’ll have many options to choose from.

The kitchen area also features a full sized washer and dryer cleverly tucked out of sight. This block of homes is larger than the other developments in Canyon View Estates and you’ll see how this extra space has been put to delightful use in the cozy light filled sitting room. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or tea as you take in the view of the mountains literally outside your window. This is also a great spot to watch hikers heading to or from the Lykken hiking trail which skirts the ridge above.

The media room is off the great room and is a comfortable spot to watch your favorite television program on the flat screen or to dip into the DVD library for an old classic.

The master bedroom features a king size bed and ensuite bathroom, complete with an original Roman shower. There’s nothing like letting the morning light be your alarm clock in this room, but only if you want it to!

The guest room is generously sized with a queen bed and a deep walk in closet. The guest bathroom, like the master shower, features fabulous vintage tile that still looks contemporary more than 40 years later.

Finally, you will appreciate the secure two car garage; a rarity for homes from this era.

  My first trip to Palm Springs was many years ago and the entire trip was plagued by torrential rains. Had I been staying here at that time the trip would not have been a loss, as staying indoors would not have been a hardship at all. Spacious, serene, well appointed, and conveniently located, I could have spent the whole trip here. But happily my most recent Palm Springs trip had excellent weather so I was able to get outside to take advantage of the pool and the surroundings. When I go back to Palm Springs, here is where I'll stay.

  Elegant and spacious home combines upscale accommodations with gorgeous desert vistas, privacy, and quick access to the village of downtown Palm Springs.
  Attention to detail includes gourmet kitchen, spacious patio, cable TV/DVD player (includes copy of "Palm Springs Weekend" with Troy Donahue), stereo, and outdoor, chlorine-free pool. Our visit was pure pleasure.

  The beautifully appointed and airy accommodations were a dream come true. It was like vacationing in Palm Springs circa 1962 - but with all of the modern amenities like wireless internet access.
  
  The location was minutes away from downtown PS and any other destination we were visiting. There was ample parking, quiet neighbors and it always felt like we had the pool to ourselves.
  
  When we go back to Palm Springs, we'll absolutely try to book this again if it's available!

  Beautifully decorated mid-century modern Palm Springs get away

  My wife and I fell in love with this condo as soon as we opened the front door and found ourselves looking at tall palm trees and distant mountains. This wonderful view was framed like a work of art by the all-glass wall at the far end of the room. It made quite an impression on us as well as on friends we had over for cocktails.
  
  The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. Even the patio is well appointed. The kitchen has everything we have at home and more! In fact, this condo seems more like a home than a vacation rental. The condo was clean, fully equipped, and well maintained. Everything worked. Much to our pleasure, we also found art displayed on nearly every wall.
  
  We were pleased to find how close we were to downtown Palm Springs with all its shopping and restaurants.
  
  We never used the heated swimming pool so I can't comment. All in all, we enjoyed our week in this condo and plan to return next spring.

  Very spacious living for a rental townhouse. Relaxing views of mountains and pool. Close to downtown yet quiet and private. Nice pool with hardly ever anyone else in it. The patio is so nice for evening cocktail hour. Parking right outside front door is especially nice. What else can I say except we loved it.

  Superb mid-century condo on the desirable south (less wind) end of PS. The owner had covered everything possible to make our ten day visit one we will never forget. All interiors were spotless, comfy bed and power showers.the kitchen was well equipped and looked to me like it had been just remodeled.
  
  The neighboring condos on either side are invisible sound wise due to the design of the unit. Very relaxing out of doors and a lovely pool that we felt like was our own as few guests appeared during our swim times.
  
  We plan on a trip next winter for one of the many events that occur in Palm Springs every year. If your into mid century modern design, relaxation with al the comforts of home and more check this place out.
  
  If your'e into nature this place is in a perfect location and the views of the mountains are the best.
