Clean and comfortable-- like home but better!

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

With three bedrooms, the spacious master suite, large living room and backyard we never felt cramped-- even with an active 1 year old and 4 year old. I was pleased with how clean it was as well. We felt very at home, and we liked that we could see the mountains from the patio.

It was our first time visiting California and Palm Springs. We were so fortunate to have found this Gem. The house was very clean and spacious, as well as having a very functional kitchen. The location is perfect, as it is close to downtown Palm Springs and grocery stores. If you enjoy hicking or cycling, everything is close by. The view of the mountains from the backyard is spectacular! The neighbours were very friendly as well, which is a bonus.

We stayed here for 1 month and the time went by too quickly. If we had any questions or concerns, Marc would get back to us promptly. It was so comforting to know that we were renting from owners who care about the comfort of their guests. The owners thought of everything, even leaving helpful notes, restaurant suggestions, money-saving coupons, books, reading glasses, magazines and really good books to read (I read 3 while I was there). We also enjoyed freshly squeezed grapefruit juice from the grapefruit tree in the backyard.

Our primary purpose for choosing this location was for the golf. Other than cycling and hicking, we soon discovered that there is so much more to do such as going to the spa, the casino, visits to the neighbouring cities and trips to the College of the Desert Flea market (a must to go to) and the Thursday night Village Fest.

We cannot say enough on this home. If we ever go back to Palm Springs, we will definitely rent this home again.

Thank you so much Marc and Jeff for making our Palm Springs experience one that we will never forget. We also want to say a huge thank you to Marc's parents who are just great people to have known.

      Thoroughly enjoyable vacation home!

Left on 09/10/2010 for a stay in August 2010

My wife and I, and another couple just returned from an 8-night stay in this great bungalow. We found it extremely charming and decorated just as you'd hope a desert home to be! From the terra cotta tiled floors, stucco wall treatments, recently updated kitchen, everything was perfect. The owners don't miss any of the little details that matter! Luxurious towels and linens were waiting for us, along with notes and instructions for absolutely everything. The pool area was our favourite hangout of the entire trip! The lounging area gives the options of full sunshine or hiding in the covered shade. The backyard is completely private - we didn't see or hear a soul in the backyard once. We used the barbeque a few times, when we decided to eat in. They left suggestions for restaurants too, and we took them up on at least one of their recommendations - and weren't disappointed.

We golfed 3 times, all in La Quinta. From the house, that's only a 25 minute, enjoyable drive. On Thursday nights there's a street market downtown, which is close to the house. We also 'spent' one night at the casino - within a few minutes by car. And if you're looking for great shopping, the huge Premium Outlet mall is in Cabazon, a 20+ minute drive north of the house - which puts the house in a perfect mid-location between golfing to the south and shopping to the north!

For a kick, we even found Frank Sinatra's original Palm Springs home, about 2 minutes away from this house! Of course we had to do the touristy drive-by...

The owners were outstanding as far as communication. They quickly and willingly answered all of our questions before our trip, and while we were down there answered any further questions we had. It's nice to rent from owners who really care about their home and their guests!

The house isn't new, but it's got everything one could want, and the style and era are perfect for a desert getaway! We are all looking forward to a return visit - soon!

This beautiful and tranquil home was the perfect oasis in the desert. It was perfectly nestled in a quite location close to the strip, the mountains, restaurants and shopping. The moment you step inside this spacious home you start to relax and leave all your troubles behind. The home was spacious enough to accommodate a large group and had every amenity you needed. The heart of the home was the updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances that allowed you not only to prepare snacks/meals but you could also see the living room and dining room where you could play games or serve dinner. The tastefully decorated bedrooms were spacious and the beds were heaven. We slept comfortably & peacefully. But that's not all, once you step out into the large backyard, perfect for entertaining, you see a gorgeous and large pool accentuated by perfect mood lighting.

The house is so large that everyone felt they had enough room to move around to spend time together or alone to rest/read. The owners have thought of everything, even leaving helpful notes, restaurant suggestions, money-saving coupons, books, reading glasses, music, movies, magazines and books to read. I was thoroughly impressed and would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful and relaxing vacation.

      Fun and fabulous

Left on 07/10/2010 for a stay in June 2010

This charming house is in a great location - quiet neighbourhood yet close to everything. The house is fully equipped, nicely decorated, high-end finishes, great barbecue and gourmet kitchen. We were even inspired to have a dinner party during our stay.

It was my first time in a saline swimming pool, hard to go back to chlorine.

The owners obviously take pride in their home and are well prepared for vacation rentals. All the necessary information regarding running the house was well laid out ie. location of light switches, pool pump, air conditioner, etc. We settled in immediately and started our vacation without any difficulties.

This will definitely be our "go to" accommodation for future trips to Palm Springs.

      Perfect relaxation!

I stayed at the Desert Gem last month and loved it. The home is spotless and comfortable, and the saltwater pool is to die for (I spent most of my time there!). Palm Springs was hot, but the house was an oasis with easy access to shopping and restaurants. Will definitely stay there again.
