Walk to the grocery store within blocks in the morning for fresh bagels. Or follow your nose to the donut store next door. In the afternoon, get chicken (or beef or pork) tacos at the little tacqueria, make sure you get limes to go with them. There's a drugstore two blocks away, fast food restaurants - yet our home is located on a quiet residential street. You can park in the garage or there is room for four cars on the driveway.

There is just one word: perfect from the very beginning to departure.
Starting with my inquiry to Bert everything went just perfect. Bert is super professional, friendly and helpful. The house is a dream. We felt at home as soon as we opened the door. The kitchen, the terrace, the pool, the bed, the bath(s). Towels, washing machine, grill, supermarket right around the corner - we couldn´t have been happier.
Just we did not get to spend enough time at "home" as we were there for coachella festival - so next time i´ll make sure to have some additional days only to more enjoy the beautiful place! Loved it.

House was clean and comfortable for our three generation family (7 adults, 2 young children, and two toddlers). Had all the amenities we needed and accommodated us well. We especially enjoyed bbq'ing dinner around the heated pool and being able to walk to the grocery store. It was really helpful to have so many beach towels provided and the very convenient laundry facility. We would certainly like to come again and can highly recommend this house for any active family's vacation.

Victoria, BC, CanadaA wonderful getaway for our whole family!
Left on 02/22/2013 for a stay in December 2012
We had a fantastic Christmas stay at this charming palm springs home. The 4 year old especially enjoyed the massive pool swimming and sailing his motorized sailboat while planes took off and landed overhead (even more delightfully the airport hours do not interfere with sleeping hours so this was only a pleasure). The location was very convenient to grocery stores and the like and a short drive from all sorts of other fun (shopping, good eats, the tram up the mountain, etc...). The home was clean, bright, spacious and provided a delightful home away from home for us to relax and fully enjoy the holidays. The owners were so accomodating that they even went to the trouble of shipping me an electronic that had been left behind.

This home was very comfortable and was well equipped. We were looking for a mid-century modern home to rent, and this one fit perfectly to our expectations. It was fun looking at all of the wall hangings, artwork and accessories. The pool was glorious. We entertained a group one evening with a BBQ and there were plenty of seating and tables. The house is located near grocery shopping and not far from downtown Palm Springs. The neighborhood is mostly well maintained, and except for a few airplanes flying overhead throughout the day, it was very quiet. Would definitely recommend this property to others headed to Palm Springs.

Bert has excellent customer service skills. The house is very nice, early 60's alexander style home. We are love modernism and really wanted an alexander but couldn't make price/availability work. This was a good compromise. As Bert told us its actually larger than an alexander.
But the pool is the real reason to rent this house. It's huge! We had friends staying at an "upscale boutique" downtown and I was shocked to see how small the pool was there. And crowded. We had a giant pool all to ourselves and of course our friends spent most of their free time at our house around our pool.

We're glad you enjoyed our Hugh M. Kaptur designed mid-century. Kaptur started out in the Palmer and Krisel office (Who did a lot of work for the Alexanders) and you can see that influence in his design.
We're happy the pool worked out well for you and your friends - we look forward to your return!

Left on 10/17/2012 for a stay in October 2012
This home was extremely comfortable, it felt like our own!
The home was conveniently located around grocery and drug stores, The neighborhood was also very quiet.
The owners and previous guest left enough necessities for our stay. There was also plenty of cookware and utensils in the kitchen, also plenty of toilet paper, bath and pool towels, blankets etc.
I really enjoyed hearing my iphone music being played on the outside speakers as I swam, also the Nintendo Wii system was a nice touch.
We were really sad to leave this home; we wish we could call this place our own, Even our dog wanted to stay!
The owner Bert is amazing, his communication, and professionalism is 5 star worthy!
Can't wait to come back.

We stayed for five days with our two kids (ages 4 and 8). Everything was truly perfect. Rooms, including kitchen, were fully stocked. The house is beautifully decorated and it felt like a movie star home! The pool is gorgeous and inviting...which we enjoyed daily! And it's so close to everything! downtown palm springs, restaurants, grocery stores, etc, etc. ! can't say enough good things. Thank you!

First Impressions the house was immaculate and beautifully furnished in great style...airy comfortable bedrooms, and we'll equipped kitchen.
Great thought and attention was paid to providing all the little extas that a lot of rental properties don't...
Pool area well laid out and furnished providing comfort in the sun and in the shade...
The house felt like home and was lovely to come back to at the end of long days..suitable for all ages
Location fabulous, close to fantastic scenery and national parks...
Service from owners wonderful, very helpful and accommodating...
The home was a very peaceful and safe retreat, close to amenities but far enough away from all the hustle and bustle...
Would certainly recommend and visit again.. -

Left on 04/18/2012 for a stay in April 2012
By thinking about what to write, I fear not to find the right words. This house is the most amazing place ever. The host is the most amazing host ever... I am really still speechless about everything. Bert answers any questions instantly and already gives a lot of information in advance, so nothing can go wrong. The house itself is beyond any positive words you can find. It's very clean and stylish. It has anything a home needs. The pool/outdoor area is something you usually only see in the movies. And the bed sheets... I have never slept so soft before. I could go on lionizing for ages, but there is probably not enough room here. Bottom line: this house feels like paradise and heaven united. Thank you!

From booking the reservation to the ease of checkin, this place was great. This is our 5th spring break in Palm Springs and definitely our most enjoyable due to the accommodations. They have absolutely thought of everything you could possibly need. The house is impeccable and the pool and yard are your own private retreat. Honestly we hung there a lot due to a sick child but also because it was just so enjoyable. Wonderful too that everything is on one level.

Left on 03/27/2012 for a stay in March 2012
We were looking for a quick weekend getaway from the chilly coast and found it here at Nici's Pool House. This home has pretty much everything you will need, including a two car garage, washer/dryer, a remodeled kitchen and greatroom area, roomy master bedroom and bath with a comfortable king bed, two additional bedrooms which share a bath, a desk area with wifi access, and a great, private backyard with heated pool and covered patio that has a barbeque and plenty of seating. The greatroom and bedrooms have very nice flatscreen Tv's, as well. The owner is very accomodating and friendly. Thank you, Bert. :) We loved having so much room and privacy, unlike when you are in a hotel room or condo and have to share the amenities with everyone else who is staying there! This place is also pet friendly so we were able to bring our little pug, too.
The only thing we didn't care for was having to wash all the used sheets and towels the morning of check out. It's the only reason I didn't give five stars. This could be normal for Palm Springs vacation rentals but it's the first time we've ever stayed in a condo/home in other vacation spots and had to do that. Not a huge deal but I dont' want to have to do it when I'm on vacation, even if it is my last day there. Usually, the people who come in to clean between guests take care of that . Not sure why this is not the case in PS.
All in all, staying at Nici's Pool House was great. Thanks again to the owners for fitting us in at the last minute. They had two open nights in the the otherwise fully booked March and most of april. We hope to return again.Response from Bert Simonis - 09/19/2012
Owner
We do hope that you will return as we have changed housekeepers and our policy. We no longer ask our guests to do laundry before they leave, our housekeeper now takes care of that after you check out. We're happy with the new housekeeper and we find our guests are much happier with our revised policy. We look forward to having you return.

Thank you for thinking of everything to make our stay enjoyable! Initially, we didn't plan on spending too much time at the house but after golfing and shopping we couldn't wait to get back to Nici's house and pool. You truly thought of every amenity to make your guests feel at home! We will be back! :)

Had a wonderful stay at Nici's Pool House back in November! Very well-furnished with bright and fun decorations. We did most of our cooking at the house (which is conveniently located less than a mile from a grocery store), and found the kitchen to be well-equipped to meet our every need. My favorite part was the heated pool! Great patio for sunbathing or enjoying a meal in the shade, complete with an outdoor sound system and gas grill. I will definitely be back for another dose of relaxation and sunshine!

I have rented private homes in the past but this is by far my favorite, this feel like a boutique hotel but with so much privacy that you can live in the backyard; the pool is amazing and the garden so lovely. The rooms are beautifully appointed and the kitchen is ready for the family cook, even the cookware is bright colors at this beautiful home.
We loved every minute of our Thanksgiving Vacation and hope to return very soon! -

Left on 11/17/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Bert was the most gracious invisible host I could've hoped for. The house was clean and spacious, the pool was big and warm, the decor was fun and modern. It really was just such a great weekend getaway. Although the house is advertised, the greatest asset to this rental is the owner. I am positive that my experience would not have been as wonderful had he not been unwaveringly devoted to making sure I had a great stay.
My boyfriend and I stayed for 3 days for his birthday and were joined for 1 of the nights by 4 other friends. We were all very comfortable and enjoyed a nice getaway. I should mention that this is all despite rain on two of the days. We had one day of sun and it was an absolute treat to sit outside, swim, and BBQ all day with my friends. I think our little dog also enjoyed his huge yard!
Thank you Bert and Berlynn! -

I'm not always a fan of the desert but Nici's Pool House may just change my mind. This gorgeous retro sixties home is cool, convenient and comfortable. The swimming pool is unusually large for a backyard and set in such a pretty landscaping of desert plants, palm trees and covered patio that I (not a sun worshipper) spent most of my holiday outside! Did I mention that the backyard is totally private and was the perfect place for my husband and I to reunite romantically after a busy year! A night he will long remember!
We had the second (middle) bedroom and it was tastefully furnished with everything one needs to spend alone time - TV, ipod, alarm clock, etc.
And my favorite thing was the rain showerhead in our bathroom!
The floors in the great room were beautiful and different than most - polished concrete - gorgeous but very cool to the feet and scattered with lovely area rugs.
We had a wonderful time with our friends, and the cost was very reasonable for the four of us. A stay at Nici's Pool House is already on the calendar for next year.

This property is close to shopping and main roads, but manages to be far enough away that it felt like our own secluded oasis. With the beautiful view, large pool, and all of the conveniences of a home, this rental exceeded all of our expectations. We enjoyed the comfy lounge chairs and poolside dining area the most. The house is very clean, with 3 generous bedrooms. It was spacious for 2 people, and would be comfortable with 4 or 6. We hope to plan another weekend and bring along some friends very soon!
