Tidewater Beach Resort opened in March 2008. It’s a luxury resort is ideally located on a large expanse of sugar-white sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico and convenient to area dining, shopping and activities, Tidewater Beach will give you a world-class vacation experience. It’s got amenities aplenty designed to please. Make a splash in one of the large beachfront pools, enjoy a refreshing beverage at the poolside tiki bar or just relax with a peaceful stroll along the beach.
When you’re “beached out” (like that’ll happen), there’s lots of other fun located right around this resort. In fact there’s a new shopping exp...erience that’s pretty close that I want to tell you about. Pier Park is really something pretty spectacular. It’s a million plus square food shopping area (like a mall at the beach) it’s got a ton of stuff. There’s a Dillards, Target, Penny’s, Ron Jon (my second home); there’s a 16 screen movieplex. All kinds of restaurants. Panera Bread for a quick bite, Longhorn Steakhouse & Outback. And get this: there’s a Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville, you know, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. And, if you want a Café American Double Shot Vente it’s got a Starbucks. Can you imagine? Starbucks in flip flops. Oh, and during the summer there’s going to be free concerts for the whole family. How cool is that?!? If you’re coming down for a kid sports tournament, you’re pretty close to the Robert Brown Park, where they host a lot of them.
Here’s the scoop on the condo.
Man this place is something else! IT'S A PENTHOUSE!!! Check out the photographs of the décor. It’s got a very distinctive upscale look at feel. It really makes the most of the room in every room. There’s plenty of space for all your beach stuff, but that’s not why you’ll pick this condo. It’s got great views. Plain and simple.
The LIVING ROOM sofa is big and comfortable. The entertainment center, which has a big LCD TV, looks like a 42' and don’t forget the DVD player lets you play movies when you’re beached out. Or, surf the net with the high speed connection. But, I gotta tell you, the views are gonna make all that pretty tough. You’re eyes will wonder to the beach every time. You’ll like the balcony, too. It’s really comfortable. And the views, The views.
Check out the MASTER BEDROOM. Huge king size bed with a with a carved headboard and really cool colors. What a great space. And the bed’s really comfortable. I laid down on it to see how it felt. Almost went to sleep. Really makes a statement. It’s really spacious. There’s a flat panel on the wall.
There’s also a kid-friendly bunk area with room for sleeping and playing.
The KITCHEN’s a beauty with black granite counter tops. It’s open and has everything that you need, so no matter whether you’re cooking your specialty or just fixing grilled cheese sandwiches you’ve got everything you need to please the family. There’s a big kitchen bar with four bar chairs so you can grab a quick bit before you hit the beach.
The DINING AREA has a big table, really comfortable so everyone’s got a seat at the table. No kid’s table here.
The LAUNDRY area’s located to make keeping everyone in clean clothes a breeze.
These bedrooms and the pull out sleeper sofa in the living room making sleeping room for 6 with 2 complete full baths.
Hey, this condo is a big beautiful place at the beach. And it’s priced right too. You can’t go wrong at the new Tidewater Resort. It’s got everything you want in a beach condo and it’s going to book up quick for the summer.
Overall, we really enjoyed our vacation. Liked that everything was close by. Recommend going to Target/Walmart to buy chairs/umbrella for the beach vs paying vendor that rents. We bought 4 chairs and two umbrellas for about the same as 1 day's rental. Beach chair rental company mngt were rude. They try to force you into putting your umbrella's down. However, they have NO right to do so. We called PCB Police. It's a public beach. Elevators in the hotel are terrible. Pools are nice. Beach is beatiful and individual condos are nice.
Overall our experience was good. The location of the property near Pier Park was terrific and access to the beach was so convenient. Our unit however did not accommodate 6 comfortably as the advertisement suggested. The bunk room had no room for luggage (except under the bed) and the sleeper sofa was so worn out and uncomfortable we had to buy a mattress topper just to make is somewhat tolerable. The shower curtain was a little moldy and we had to buy draino to unclog the tub. Overall the unit was fairly clean.
Our biggest problem with the property was the elevators. They were extremely slow on Saturday when we checked in. It took almost an hour to get up to our room because of the wait. It was a lot better during the week, but still a little frustrating at times.
We would definitely stay at Tidewater again but would choose a bigger unit next time.

Our stay was very relaxing and enjoyable. We did not even use some of the amentities, such as indoor pools, hot tubs, sauna, etc. as we did not have time for them, btu we did use the outdoor pool and it was very nice, clean and planty of lounge chairs. Our room was on the 28th floor, making the use of elevators essential. Some delays were encountered but no wait over 10 minutes. The elevator closest to our room broke down about 3 days before we left and was not repaired before we left. The only complaint was the actual desk staff at Tidewater were RUDE and unfriendly. Dealing with BestBeachGetaways was very pleasant and all we were told was true. We had carefree check-in and check-out, with keyless entry, which was wonderful. SOmeone contacted me from BBG to see how we were doing :) THe room was exactly as described and pictures and the bets were extra comfortable. The only complaint was not enough seating in the den area. Needs another sofa, loveseat or perhaps recliners. Near to Pier Park and restaurants. Beach was beautiful and quiet.

The location is phenomenal. Close to Pier Park, Buddy's Seafood market, and the new WalMart. The Tidewater has great am amenities, including two pools with hot tubs, and an actual gym with dumbbells, which I appreciated. That being said, there were a bunch of little problems with the condo. Upon arriving the condo, I went to pull the curtains to look at the beach and the entire left curtain fell to the ground. The air conditioner did not work until I called maintenance to get a repairman up to fix it. However, I believe this had more to do with the previous guest setting the air on 66 degrees. A slat for the king size bed broke at some point during the trip. I am 180lb man, so I doubt its anything I did. This made the bed droop in the middle. There was plenty of cookware, however the silverware was in the pantry (not a super big deal, just kind of weird) and there was no blender! No blender at the beach? Come on! I had to go buy one just to make my Strawberry Pina Coladas. All this being said, I will comment on this: the management at best beach getaways were VERY good about taking my calls and sending someone to fix the problems. The air conditioner was fixed within hours, the blinds within 30 minutes. I didn't realize the bed-slat was broken until the last day, but upon calling they assured that I would not be charged. The place is not just the absolute greatest on the beach, but for the location and the stellar management, I'd recommend it for ANYONE looking to stay on the West End of Panama.
We were pleased with our choice of vacation venue and condo pick

The condo was beautiful. Being on the 28th floor was cool the view is amazing. The road noise is limited. The biulding is wonderfully maintained and clean. The staff is polite and courteous. I would recommend Tidewater and I would return.

Me an my family went here for spring break and overall it was a pleasant experience! It was located in the middle of EVERYTHING! it was within walking distance to Pier Park and many other attractions. The only downside would have been the chair in the living room. You could feel the bar going into your back when you sat down which was very uncomfortable, but besides that I would definitely recommend this property to others it was a wonderful vacation spot and I will definitely be coming back!!
