Our home, American Idyll, is a 2 bedroom cottage perfectly located within Carillon Beach -- right across from the beach. Two minutes after leaving our brick patio, you will be stepping onto one of the world's most beautiful beaches. Just a few feet away from the dune walkover are two beach lounges with cushions and an umbrella, which are compliments of American Idyll. If you prefer lounging by the pool, you are also in luck. The Lake Carillon Pool, which overlooks Lake Carillon, is just a few doors away. If you want both the Beach and a pool, you can take a two minute stroll down Beachside Drive to the Beach Club Pool which overlooks the Gulf....

Our guests have unobstructed views of the beach and the Gulf from our balcony. Although American Idyll is a cottage, there is nothing limited about its design or amenities. The living room and kitchen/dining are located on the second floor. There is a sleeper sofa and a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen. The two downstairs bedrooms each have a king size bed.

Kitchen: The kitchen has granite counter-tops and full size stainless steel appliances. There is a microwave, coffee maker, blender, hand-held mixer and toaster. The cabinets contain a service for 8, glassware including wine glasses, all manner of pots, pans, baking dishes and corning ware- everything you could possible want to make a gourmet meal.

Bedrooms: There are three flat screen televisions -- one in the living room and one in each bedroom. The bed sheets, comforter and pillows are all high end and very comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bath with a shower and extra absorbent towels. (There is also a half bathroom on the second floor adjacent to the living room and kitchen.)

Garden/Patio: Outside the front door is our garden, sitting porch and brick-covered patio. If you want to watch the world go by, you can sit on the benches in the gazebo next to Beachside Drive. If you want to have a cook out or just enjoy the garden, there are Adirondack chairs and a grill on the brick patio surrounded by the landscaped garden.

Carillon Beach is a charming, gated seaside village which offers guests a unique holiday experience. The beach extends almost a mile and can be accessed through eight (8) dune walkovers, each with its own unique design and built-in benches offering a panoramic view of the ocean. Wherever you are staying in Carillon, a dune walkover is only a short walk away.

Three beautifully-designed pools are strategically placed throughout the community. The Beach Club Pool is located directly on the Gulf – a combination not found in any other Panhandle community. The chaise lounges are made of ipe wood which is known for its beauty and durability. Two large covered verandas with couches and chairs overlook the pool and the Gulf. From the pool deck, there are steps directly to the beach. What could be better?

As the name suggests, the Lake Carillon Pool overlooks Lake Carillon, which offers views of the Carillon Beach Inn, the Meeting House and Lake front homes. The Lake Carillon Pool boasts a in-pool seating area with multiple water jets.

The Bellview Park Pool is the largest of the three pools and has an adjoining kiddie pool. This is a family friendly pool. There is a shaded pergola next to the kiddie pool so that parents can keep an eye on their small children. Adjacent to the pool is Bellview Park which has a large green space for throwing a frisbee or playing catch. There is also a newly installed basketball court, two tennis courts, a fort, swings and king of the hill (a small hill with a path to the top, perfect for playing king of the hill). Children and adults will enjoy everything that Bellview Park has to offer.

The Promenade, a brick-lined walkway across the community, shaded by a canopy of trees, runs from Bellview Park to the Meeting House and Village Green. The Meeting House provides a beautiful two story space for community events including art shows, non-denominational services, weddings, reunions, and family gatherings. Next to the Meeting House is the Village Green a large green space overlooking Lake Carillon which hosts outdoor concerts (“Grooving On The Green”), wedding receptions, the annual Easter Egg Hunt and other community-wide activities.

At the center of the Community is the Carillon, a beautiful bell tower that chimes at the quarter hour, half hour and full hour. Benches surround the Carillon. This allows everyone to enjoy the ringing bells whose melodies can be heard throughout the Community.

Carillon Beach is one of the few gated beach communities in the Panhandle. The result is a peaceful retreat, with no busy streets, and no crowds, a place where everyone can enjoy a wonderful beach holiday.
