Wonderful gulf views and private pool with this 5 bedroom home!Directly across from the beach with wonderful gulf views you will find more than the “Bare Necessities” in this custom built beach home located right on Florida’s scenic Highway 30-A. “Bare Necessities” Is three levels of elegant living with five bedrooms, four and one half baths, four covered porches with the first floor back porch being fully screened, and a private heated pool. There is plenty of parking for as many as 8 to 10 cars! This vacation haven is an easy, quick walk to the sugar-white sands of the gulf beach – approximately 50 yards by boardwalk access.... Awesome! 1st floor: Large front porch, kitchen, dining room, living area, half bath, bedroom with full bath, and fully screened back porch. The front porch as well as the large screened back porch extends the width of “Bare Necessities”. Each porch has comfortable seating plus a patio table and six chairs on the back porch. The kitchen is roomy with granite countertops, stainless appliances, and a nice bar with barstool seating for four. The dining room has a large table and 10 chairs; table easily seats 8 to 10 people. A half bath is centrally located on the first floor. The bedroom has a queen sized bed and a full bath; this first floor location is especially good for anyone with limited mobility. This bedroom has a 25” TV. The living area is nice sized with comfortable chairs; a slip covered sofa, and a 32” TV and DVD, as well as computer hook up. The sofa can be opened up into a queen-sized bed. Four people can sleep on the first floor. Nice! 2nd floor: Large front porch, three bedrooms, two full baths, and laundry area. This balcony front porch is the same size as the first floor front porch. While the first floor front porch has four large wooden rockers for seating the second floor porch has a wicker cushioned sofa and wicker chairs. It is a great place to sit and relax and watch the sun set. The laundry area is conveniently located on the second floor. The first bedroom on the second floor is a smaller bedroom with bunk beds; a double bed on the bottom level and a single bed on the top level. It has a 16” TV with DVD. The second bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a 36" Flat Panel TV. These two bedrooms share a full bath. The third bedroom is a master bedroom with a king sized bed, walk in closet, and a full bath with separate shower and large Jacuzzi tub. The television is a 32” flat screen with DVD. Seven people can sleep on the second floor. Wow! 3rd floor: Large bedroom with full bath, wet bar, and private porch. This bedroom is oversized with lots of space for the king sized bed as well as the twin bed with a pull out trundle. There is a 36” Flat Panel TV. The wet bar has a small sink as well as a mini fridge…no running downstairs to get that midnight snack! The private balcony porch is just the right size for the table and two chairs you’ll find there. This, of course, is the idyllic view of the beach. Have your morning coffee here or watch the sky turn many jewel toned colors as the sun sets in the evening. Four people can sleep on the third floor. Super! Extra info: “Bare Necessities” sits on a wide lot giving its guests a wonderful feeling of privacy and yet it is a first tier home just a hop, skip, and jump to the sugar sands of the beach. Located in a wonderful area it is surrounded by other private beach homes just a few miles from Seaside near Rosemary Beach. Panama City Beach and Destin are close, convenient and fun! To the side of “Bare Necessities” is its own private 10’ x 20’ fenced pool with a lighted waterfall. A front gate provides entry to the pool area as well as a screened door off of the back porch. The patio area surrounding the pool has lounge chairs and a wrought iron table and chairs. The pool may be heated during the cooler months for a nominal fee. Two grills are provided for outside cooking; one is a charcoal grill and the other is a gas grill. Both grills are located in the shaded back yard with access from a second screened door off of the back porch or from a side gate off of the pool area.   We stayed at "Bare Necessities" the week of July 28th 2012. We booked late in the season and had limited choices. Some of the previous reviews were concerning, but we took our chances! Upon arrival the house had not even been cleaned. The kitchen was sticky with syrup and crumbs on the counters. The bed comforters were dirty. The cleaning crew did return and apologize and made another half hearted attempt at cleaning. The mold in all of the showers was ridiculous, I ultimately ended up purchasing some bleach and cleaning the smelly filth from the master shower myself. The house is cute and nicely decorated, but is also in need of TLC...paint, carpet, upholstery, pool furniture. The house has a very comfortable floor plan, nice pool and is conveniently located to the beach access. If you decide to stay bring your cleaning supplies!

  Bare Necessities says it all.

  The home was large and accomodating, however it was not clean. The showers had mold all over them. It was so disgusting I took pictures because I was in shock. The pool chairs were all broken, pool lights were out, and three of the five beds had only sheets, no blankets and no comforters and there were none in the closets, etc. Sand Castle Escapes was called, and we were told someone would be over to clean and bring blankets, however no one showed up and when I called later that evening to see when someone would be over, I was told it was not an emergency. No one ever called back to apologize or let me know what happened. We will no longer use Sand Castle Escapes or recommend it to anyone.

  This house was perfect for several families. No one feels like they get the short end of the stick because it has 3 master suites on 3 separate floors. Best vacation home we ever stayed in and we usually go at least once or twice per year.

  Almost Beachfront

  Conveniently located just across the street from the beach, it is a great location. The little ones loved the private pool for sand-free afternoon fun. The house easily fit two families and was very comfortable and nicely decorated. However, it was not cleaned properly. All dishes, pots, pans and utensils had been put away dirty by the previous occupants or cleaning crew. The showers were also mildewed. The address was incorrect on the information form located by the phone in the house and the trash dates were incorrect, resulting in several days of stinky, sun-baked trash. We made several calls to management with no action taken.

  Great place with lots of room. We had 7 adults and 4 small children. Very close to the beach, and having the pool was a great plus. We plan on returning to the same house very soon.
