Winnipeg, CanadaFantastic Location and Great Condo!
Left on 01/12/2013 for a stay in December 2012
The location of this building is great for exploring Casco and Panama City. Just a block or two away from the noisier areas of Casco, it is a quiet location and building. The upstairs loft is very well appointed with lots of room and a great balcony overlooking the mayor's office, Cerro ancon and the rooftops of neighbouring buildings. Everything you need is nearby - little corner shops, the markets/shops on ave Central, or just jump in a cab and for $3-$5 you can get to Bella Vista or Marbella in the city centre. Patty arranged for pick up from the airport and greeted us upon arrival. We also booked two tours through her husband Rudy, both of which were great. One recommendation if it is hot... ask for a fan to augment the overhead fan... the loft bedroom can get warm, even with the aC.

All our expectations were more than satisfactory. We arranged airport transfers with Patty and Rudy and someone was there to pick us up when we arrived to transport us to the loft. When we arrived Patty and Rudy were there to meet us and help with the luggage and show us around the loft. The loft was beautiful and had everything one would need and location was perfect.(also many fine resturants)
We also went on a tour with Rudy to the Embera Village which was one of the best tours we have ever been on. I would recommend the loft and tour to anyone (well worth it) also our airport transfer was there on time for our departure. -

Left on 04/13/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Based on the description of the property and website photos (+pre-trip e-mail correspondence with the owners), we were expecting a nice stay at Patty and Rudy's condo in Panama City's Casco Viejo. However, the condo and trip exceeded our already high expectations! Location, cleanliness, amenities, balcony, etc., etc. ... All are phenomenal. The beautiful Cinta Costera is within easy walking distance. Friendly owners. Quiet, well-maintained property. We felt as if we were in our own home. What more could one ask for? We would recommend this property to anyone visiting Panama City, especially couples.

We absolutely loved our home away from home. I would never stay in a hotel in Panama City when I had this option. It is right in the heart (safe) of the old neighborhood of Cosco Viejo. The best location in P.C.. Besides there were no hotels in this neighbor anyway. Full of shops and restaurants. Totally happining at night. No surprise the "White House" of Panama is in the neighborhood. The condo has every amenity of home. Rudy and Patty are the best hosts. Six stars!

Our time in Casco Viejo was an unforgettable experience. The loft apartment was absolutely the nicest we have ever rented and Patty and Rudy were fabulous hosts. This area is one of the most dynamic we have seen in any of our travels, combining all strata of life in a very safe and pleasant environment. There are modern restaurants and businesses mixed with the historic buildings and renovation literally everywhere. Rudy also provided interesting insights as we toured the entire Panama City area and met us in Colon after our Canal Train ride to show us the atlantic sights. We definitely selected the right apartment in the right location!

The condo loft in Casco Viejo was one of the highlights of our trip to Panama. We spent five days there and it went way too fast. We enjoyed being able to make our own breakfasts and then explore the ancient city. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the condo loft and Patty even showed us where the best grocery store was. We went on three tours with Rudy as the guide and highly recommend his tours. Patty and Rudy are true ambassadors for Panama. Cannot wait to go back and see how much more of the ancient city has been restored.

We spent 5 nights at the loft..The reviews I read were great but staying there even better.
Patty seems to have thought of everything. So many little thoughtful touches that make staying there a terrific experience. It's really an oasis in Casco a place to escape the heat and the streets when it's time to relax..
We also went on a tour with Rudy. Real terrific. He's knowledgeable, pleasent and little Patty a perfect host if you're visiting Panama

We stayed in this beautfiul apartment in Nov and would highly recommend it. The apartment is finished to excellent standards, the bed is comfy and there are many fine restaurants within strolling distance. Patty and Rudi are wonderful hosts and very informative for our first visit to the city. To be picked up at the airport when you are tired is a great comfort. Thank you both for such a wonderful time and we are determined to visit again one day.

San FranciscoThe Best Place to Stay in Panama City
Left on 11/26/2011 for a stay in November 2011
My trip to Panama consisted of 4 days in Casco Viejo, 4 days sailing in the San Blas Islands and 2 days in Bella Vista. This loft was phase I and really got the trip off to a great start. This loft, with it's two floors, huge balcony overlooking the Mayors Mansion, and nestled in the heart of the Casco, is absolutely amazing. Everything is top notch. You won't find a five star hotel for five times the price with this kind of atmosphere.
Patty & Rudy are the most wonderful people that you could ever want to deal with. They're attentive, understanding, on time and put together these marvelous books filled with tips and suggestions of how to make the most of your stay. Plus this loft has a computer, a mobile phone to use, and so much more. This is the place to stay. As my ex-governor once said, "I'll be back". -

Left on 10/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I have never had such a wonderful trip due to the greatest percent to the accommocations and the owners. Not only was the apartment fabulous for my adult daughter and myself, it was safe, clean, beautiful, appointed exceptionally and located right in the heart of the best "action" in Panama City. Add to that the multiple tours that Rudy provided with his personal brand of commentary and his charming and kind ways and the personal, thoughtful touches that Patty adds (including her own warm, caring personality) and I want to go back over and over again and won't even consider any other accommodations. This was, by far, one of the best places I have ever stayed with your every need thought of and taken care of. Patty and Rudy are two of the finest owners and people I have ever met as I have traveled the globe.

I very strongly recommend the Loft from Patty's Casitas!
First for its location: right in the heart of Casco Viejo, ideal for walking around and seeing the old city, where beautiful buildings date back to the 17th century and are extremely beautifully renovated. It is a lively area, full of charm with many restaurants and bars. Taxis never got lost when I asked them to drive me to the well known "Iglesia de la Merced” adjacent to the loft.
Second for the building itself, an ancient monastery with high and thick walls (hence the quietness of the flat) situated in a nice, clean and lighted street. Main entrance of the building is secured.
And third for the accommodation itself, just perfect!
Very well appointed with modern and very high quality furnishings. The kitchen is fully fit out, even with basic supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, etc. The bathroom has towels, hair dryer and start kit with shampoo and soap. Laundry is also available in the building. Free use of computer with wi fi and the local mobile phone provided. Books, Dvd's TV with huge flat screen... Amazing! On top of that, Patty is a wonderful host, very helpful and dedicated to her commitments. She likes what she is doing, and does it perfectly. It is not a business woman thinking rentability. She always made sure I had a good stay and was also extremely interesting to speak too with her many travel experiences around the world. Her husband Rudy, with whom I had a tour in the "Otro Panama” and the "Miraflores locks” is also a very nice person, flexible and patient and able to answer all the question about Panama in the past and nowadays.
I would definitely recommend staying by Patty and Rudy, it really feels like home.

This is an amazing apartment, its brand new, new appliances, furniture, flat screen tv, laptop, cell phone, the apartment is immaculate, and beautifully decorated. The location is perfect, walk around the old town, or walk into Panama City (do it when the sun is low not at its highest - because its very, very hot).
Patty and Rudy are wonderful, so friendly and helpful, we did a couple of trips with Rudy he is a super tour guide, and even took me duty free shopping... We stayed for 2 weeks and had a great time exploring Panama city and the surrounding area. We came for rest and relaxation and got it all, lots of places to eat, plenty of cute little bars and patios. Everyone is very friendly. Very easy to shop for groceries and cook for yourself in the apartment. Lovely balcony to sit out on and watch the morning and evening go by. Panama canal is stunning, and the history is very interesting.
We had a wonderful time, I highly recommend the apartment, Patty and Rudy are just amazing, so friendly, fantastic hosts and very caring. The next time we are back in Panama this is the only place we will stay. Thank you Patty and Rudy, we miss you and your beautiful apartment. Penny and Claude -

This apartment is fantastic. I was visiting panama on a business trip and so would normally have stayed in a hotel, but I'm so glad I didn't. The apartment has everything you could want and more. One of my lasting memories will be sitting on the balcony, taking in the sights and sounds of this amazing part of the town. Patty and Rudy are excellent hosts, and I would recommend staying here to anyone.

My husband and I loved this apartment. The style, the cleanliness, the location, and everything was just fantastic. Everything you need is provided including wireless internet, a laptop to use, new appliances, a cell phone to borrow, flatscreen tv with loads of channels and a laminated card to give directions to the taxi men. We went on the Embera Village tour with Rudy and it was amazing! Rudy and Patty have everything worked out and don't forget one detail to make your stay wonderful. If you go, make sure to visit the fish market and get some ceviche...so good!

Patty and Rudy are great. The apartment was amazing. It has every modern comfort you could want but maintains a very rustic feel with an amazing exposed stone wall. Plus, the location is great.
I also stayed in the studio when I return to Panama City. Also amazing. It was extremely nice to come back to a beautiful apartment after a day of sight seeing. -

Houston, TexasHighly recommend this lovely loft on the edge of Casco Viejo
Left on 03/13/2011 for a stay in December 2010
We stayed at Patty's loft for a couple of nights over the New Year holiday and had a wonderful time. First-class accommodations - beautifully appointed place where it is obvious that no expense was spared. Great bed, lovely kitchen, quiet and cool living space. Included in the price were internet, loaner laptop and loaner cellphone plus big screen TV. The loft has a superb location on the edge of the old town - we explored for hours on foot, walked to dinner in the evenings and really got a feel for that section of the city. The loft has a lovely balcony where you can sit in the evenings and enjoy the sights and sounds of Casco Viejo. I think we were only the 2nd guests in the newly-renovated loft so there are not many reviews - but we can recommend this listing highly.
Patty and her husband Rudy were also great hosts before and during our stay. They are really nice folks who clearly enjoy their work and are good at it. They provided a lot of very useful info on restaurants and arranged a great tour/airport transfer between the domestic and international airports on our last day in the country. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer!
