Canadaa great time in a city of contrast
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in January 2013
It was our first trip to Panama. We were 3 couples and found the space to be quite adequate. We loved being on ancon Hill and feeling like we were in the jungle overlooking a very metropolitan city. The pool was so welcomed on hot afternoons. We enjoyed very much the wildlife. You have to know what you are looking for out of a vacation as this location is always a cab ride away from restaurants, shopping, etc. But if you lay in some groceries it can be a world away from the hustle and bustle. Little tip, always ask before getting in a cab how much it will be to where you are going as nothing is regulated. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful.

SmithA great place for a group of friends
Left on 03/19/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Our group of seven friends (age 55-65) greatly enjoyed our stay in the 4 bedroom apartment at Panama Vacation Quarters. The service was flawless. Karolina helped us arrange tours and transportation, gave us tips on places to visit, and even checked on our rantal car arrangement for onward travel. The groundskeeper was also extremely helpful - lending us his cell phone, turning on the waterfall, whistling for the monkeys, and fixing a problem with the plumbing (caused by us).
The apartment exceeded our expectations. There was plenty of room for the seven of us. The kitchen was extremely well stocked and we enjoyed doing our own cooking for several meals. We used the barbeque on the back deck for dinner one night - barbequed red snapper steaks from the fish market!
Pvq's location worked well for our group. It felt like we were in the countryside even though the city sights were only a few minutes away. The road for thehike up ancon Hill was just steps from our door - the views were breathtaking! We used the complimentary phone to call taxi's and explored Casco Viejo, the amador Causeway, the Fish Market, and the artisian Market. It was also convenient for our tours to the Panama Canal and the Train trip and Portobello tour (arranged by Karolina).
After a busy days of touring we really appreciated the pool and the shaded back deck. We will certainly return to PVQ if we visit Panama again. -

We rented two units for a stay during a family wedding and had a fantastic time. Staff is terrific, available immediately by phone. A great pool for the kids, lots of animals including monkeys and birds and accessible by taxi to anywhere you want to go in Panama City. We really appreciated the provision of a Panama cell phone and the staff brining in groceries when we arrived late in the evening.

Dominical, Costa RicaThe only place I would stay in Panama City
Left on 09/20/2012 for a stay in September 2012
After exploring Panama City for 4 days, I realized how lucky we were that we had chosen this rental. It was so beautiful in the park and so peaceful. No traffic noises, no parking issues, and totally secure. It is an older home, but very well maintained and furnished. and we could walk right up the hill to the most beauitful view in Panama City. I will definitely come back to this place! So convenient to all the areas that we visited. We had our own car so public transporation was not an issue, that would be the only problem if you didn't have a car. The staff was great, and very attentive to our needs. Truly wonderful, and we thank you for our most enjoyable visit!

I was more than pleasantly surprised upon arriving to Panama Vacation Quarters. From the moment we arrived, we received great service and it was consistent throughout our stay. Karolina (concierge) was great. We were in contact before I even left the states to make sure everything would go smoothly and it absolutely did. Joaquin, who handled maintenance was very attentive and any small issues we had were resolved immediately. He also took us around ancon hill, where we were able to see and feed some of the local monkeys. The cleaning staff was very friendly and did an outstanding job. The location of the apartment was perfect, it really was a central location with a lot of main attractions very readily accessible. The property itself was very well kept, clean and comfortable. We were a group of 8 and the space was perfect, with 2.5 bathrooms which was clutch! It really had a homey feel to it, there was Wifi, a land line, a complimentary cell phone to which we could add minutes. I loved that we could take morning walks/jogs up the hill which lead to a beautiful view of Panama City. What you see online is what you get. I honestly didn't know what to expect and quite frankly I was kind of skeptical of all of the high reviews (too good to be true kind of thought) but I will gladly confirm that it is all true! This place is truly a gem and I will undoubtedly stay here next time I come to visit.

Left on 03/31/2012 for a stay in February 2012
This lovely apartment in Quarry Heights had plenty of space for our family, on two floors. It was nicely furnished and the daily cleaner kept it spotless.
Karolina arranged everything for us from pick up at the airport on arrival to excursions, transportation, advice about costs, tipping, etc and transport back to the airport at the end of the week. We opted to use several of the services offered, including stocking the condo with a few groceries in advance and having dinner cooked for us in our condo.
Karolina arranged for one taxi driver, Gabriel, to be available to us for the whole week if we needed him. He was invaluable in getting us around and he quickly became integrated into our group, helping to select good places for lunch and places to shop, buy groceries, see places that we remembered, etc. He did not speak English, but we had a Spanish speaker in the group so it worked well for us.
Karolina also booked some very good quality excursions for us. We loved the half-day canal trip and could see from the similar boats around us that ours had more space, better seating and viewing, and very good food. We loved our trip to the Embara indigenous village as well. In all cases, we had excellent guides, and Gabriel was a flexible and inventive guide, too.
We highly recommend the cook-in service, which we used four times: on the evening of our arrival and on three other days when we had long excursions. In fact, we never went to a restaurant. One night we cooked out on the grill and had a lovely evening in the gazebo.
There was nothing that we disliked about this experience and it would be difficult to say what we like the most. It met all of our high expectations and we would return happily. -

2012 was my 2nd year in a row staying at Panama Vacation Quarters (PVQ).
Location:
The location is excellent. Pvq is out of the city; but, you can easily walk (or drive) to the top of ancon hill (for amazing views), the Panama Canal admin building, around Balboa, to Niko's café, and there is a McDonald's if you need a piece of americana. I will state the walk is on an incline. Pvq is surrounded by lush green landscaping and wildlife. There is an armed guard that controls access to PVQ. Often, if we hailed a cab in the city to take us home, we would have the taxi driver drop us off at the guard gate so he wouldn't know exactly where we were staying and walk to the apartment.
You can also walk (at lunch time) down the hill, across 4th of July avenue to one of our favorite eats, Napoli Pizza.
Staff:
Karolina speaks English as well as Spanish. She can help book tours and answer any questions. I requested cardboard for my children prior to arriving and she had old boxes waiting for us (to ride down admin hill). Bob, the owner, also responds to emails/questions quickly. The apts are kept clean daily and the lawn is impeccable and inviting.
Apartment:
The studio apts are well laid out and are on the ground level. The 4-bedroom apts have common areas and a ½ bath on the 2nd floor, and the bedrooms and 2 full baths are on the 3rd floor. There is an interior door that can be left open to connect the studio with the larger apt. Pvq provides soap (not shampoo), towels, and pool towels-not beach towels. The kitchen is stocked with plates, bowls, utensils, wine opener, glasses, microwave, fridge and toaster oven (only oven in studio). There is covered parking at your front door, grills out back, and hammocks for your use. They also give each apartment a prepaid cell phone for use when out and about in the city along with a list of trusted taxi and van drivers.
Love it. Comfortable and at home there.

Relaxing!! We are looking to relocate to Panamá!
We are so overwhelmed with this location it proved to be everything it is advertised to be, thank you for sharing this little piece of heaven and your wonderful staff that care for it. We felt as if we were "homeâ€. Never felt uncomfortable or stressed. This location is a "gemâ€. We are hoping to come back in September but definably again in February 2013.
It is so easy to travel from here to all of the Panama City attractions. Francisco is a wonderful trusty worthly driver , so smart and speak very goo English!

From start to finish, the staff was very polite and pleasant. The home was spacious and ideal for our small group, but it could accommodate more. The privacy is perfect for couples or a small family. The trees are in great abundance, which make it a tropical paradise. We enjoyed a beautiful barbecue which was prepared by my family and friends next to the pool.
It is hard to choose what we enjoyed the most, but the location is perfect, isolated but at the same time close to many attractions. As a Panamanian, I was proud to show my friends how enjoyable there time could be in my homeland. Before our departure we talked about returning to PVQ in the near future.
My thanks again to the staff for making our stay wonderful. -

I want to say thank you to the staff at the Panama Vacation Quarters for making our eleven day stay in the country very relaxing & stress-free! We stayed in a four bedroom/2.5 bath apartment which was great for our 9 person group. The location of the apartments is ideal since it's in the middle of the old Canal Zone and the City. We appreciated the peace and quiet while enjoying the pool and hammocks outside!! The walk up to ancon Hill is a must see as you can see the City skyline, which is gorgeous at night!!
It was very nice to have Karolina as an English-speaking resource during our stay. She was great! The maid service and maintenance service was also wonderful! They were very nice and our needs were handled daily! We appreciated the laundry service. It was wonderful to have the WiFi service and sky TV too!! And the use of a Panama cell phone was so ideal as we used this during our stay to contact our drivers without having to use our us cell phones. What a great service! Our group would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to visit Panama! We will definitely stay there again during our next visit. Kuddos to the staff and owners for being so helpful in reserving the apartment and also making our vacation so enjoyable! Thank you!! -

I want to personally thank Bob and Karolina for their tremendous support as we stayed at PVQ during for 8 days. We had a group of 17 and we utilized two four bedroom condos. The owner was incredible and stayed in contact with us up until arrival. Then Karolina took over and if there was anything we needed she gladly made it happen. The property is on ancon Hill. A short walk to the top and you get breathtaking views of Old Panama, the new Panama City plus a great view of the Canal area. The condo's were perfect for us after a long day at work. The bedrooms were spacious, the bathrooms large with tile everywhere, and the kitchen and living area were great. The pool was refreshing at the end of the day and the grills in the back under the tiki huts were utilized for some great barbeques a couple nights during the week. You are just five minutes from the armador Causeway with a beautiful view of the skyline of the city. Simply put, PVQ is in the center of everything. Thank you again and when we come back, PVQ is the place.
