Countless French films, books, and songs feature the prominent Seine River as a setting and if you don't know why by now, you will after staying at this Paris apartment a block away. Located in the artsy neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Pres, this accommodation is surrounded by everything that symbolizes what is French and what is Paris- bakeries, cafes, book shops, and museums. If you and another couple would like an experience such as this one, along with a private terrace and views of the Eiffel Tower, this vacation rental in France is for you!

This apartment is situated on the fifth floor of a building with an elevator on Rue de Se...ine. The elevator in the building only reaches the fourth floor, after which there is a staircase that will lead to the apartment on the fifth floor. There is a private terrace with a table and chairs as well as views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower.

[110m2] Fifth floor [with elevator up to the fourth floor]: The combined living and dining room has couches and a dining table with chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a cook-top, oven, microwave, and dishwasher.

Top floor: A spiral staircase leads up to one bedroom with a 160 cm queen-sized bed, glass windows with views of Paris, access to a private terrace, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and shower.

Bottom floor: A staircase leads down to one bedroom with a 160 cm queen-sized bed, a desk, cable TV, and an ensuite bathroom with a sink, toilet, and tub with a handheld shower.

The apartment is located in Paris's 6th arrondissement within the neighborhood of St. Germain des-Pres. St. Germain is full of chic boutiques, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, and bakeries as well as some of the city's most famous sites including the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Latin Quarter! This district stretches from the Seine River all the way to Montparnasse and was once where bohemians and artists liked to hang out. Just a quick metro stop away is the Notre Dame, the Orsay Museum, and the Pantheon.

  Our overall experience was very good. It is a small space except for the lower bedroom which was quite large. But I'm sure by most standards it was quite roomy for a Paris apartment. The kitchen was of small/adequate size and appointment and everything was in good working order. The apartment is very attractively decorated with designer fabrics, etc.
  
  The view of the Paris rooftops and the FULL ON Eiffel Tower was breathtaking and not to be believed. The Sacre Coeur, Louvre, and Invalide were also visible. The furnished roof deck was a huge bonus as we had very warm weather for October.
  
  Everyone comments on the small spiral staircase and there is a reason. It is tortuously narrow and twisty. It requires two hands and two feet to be firmly in place for each step. I'm not sure what an option would be given the small space, so you just learn to be very careful and live with it.
  
  It is a lovely Parisian street of mostly art galleries and lively bistros. Within a few blocks, however, you have the Metro, St. Germain Blvd, and shops. Within two blocks there is great specialty food shopping in one direction and the Seine and Quai in the other. A great location overall.

  We had a wonderful time but were disappointed in a few features. Even though we knew about the circular staircases to each bedroom, we were not prepared for how steep and narrow they truly were. We couldn't even bring our luggage to them and had to spread our open suitcases all over the main living quarters. The rooftop bedroom was an add-on, quite small, and very warm in May.
  
  The location. It was in the neighborhood of St. Germain de Pres and within walking distance of many restaurants, cafes, shops, the Louvre,D'Orsay, Notre Dame, etc.
  
  The stairs and the fact that the elevator only went to the 4th floor and we were on the 5th. In all fairness, we knew about the elevator situation ahead of time.
