I followed my Travel Advisor's suggestions regarding this apartment. I was very pleased with both the apartment and the location! Paris is beautiful with lots to see and do. It was a great experience for me and my children!

The location by far was optimal. There is a bakery on the corner, specialty food stores across the street, walking distance to the Louvre and the Seine River all in all you cannot beat where this apartment is located!

The stores and neighborhood in general. All important needs were in walking distance and we felt very safe.

Location!! It was perfectly located in my favorite section of Paris.

Love, love, love this area! It's in walking distance of all my favorite spots. Couldn't have a better location from my point of view.

The bakery, the fruit market, and the market across the street to get fresh cooked food! The big market was in walking distance, shopping and felt very safe!

Fabulous. Charming apartment on a quiet street in a fabulous location.

The decor was inviting, casual, and very "French". Comfortable couches, hardwood floors, original art, and oriental carpets gave character to the apartment. We visited relatives staying at a Marriott in Paris, which felt very sterile in comparison.

Lack of view. The windows open onto the courtyard.

Boulangerie, fromagerie, and delicatessen were 50 yards away. There were a variety of cafes and restaurants within 2 blocks of the apartment and a large grocery store 3 blocks away. The metro was conveniently close. The neighborhood was beautiful and very functional.

We liked the apartment and the area. The caretaker, Anabella, is very helpful.

The flat is very much our idea of a Parisian way of life.

A few days after we moved in to our apartment, the people in the flat above began renovations. Rentvillas was very good at finding us alternate accomodations within a few days.

The location is awesome. Within a short walk to the Louvre, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sorbonne, etc.

      A very pleasant stay overall.

The whole process was easy and well spelled out. Nicole was very helpful. Annabelle was nice to deal with.

The location was superb and the cat in the courtyard was just what my daughter loved.

The apartment above us was uner construction done and it was unpleasant to hear them come in in the morning.

There was a very good bakery at the end of the block and great shops all around.

Wonderful slice of France. Quaint decor, wonderful location.

Location, location, location. Loved the Paris feel.

No washer or A/C. The weather was great when we were there (cool evenings), but on a hot evening the bedroom with twin beds might not get good cross ventilation.

Everything you could want or need is just a short walk: museums, bakeries, wine shops, chocolate, cheese shops, and restaurants.

The location. Very central in Paris.

No real view, but offset by extreme quiet at night.

We visited 9 museums and 4 tourist sites in 7 days. All by subway or foot. Couldn't have done it from any suburban hotel location.

Very good. The apartment was wonderful!!!

Location -- close to major streets and attractions but on quiet street and interior courtyard. Well appointed and roomy.

The interior courtyard has no charm, but it IS quiet. EXCEPT that workers started hammering and drilling early in the morning, doing maintenance and repair on the fronts of other apartments in the courtyard. This is the second time that we've experienced constuction work during our stay here.

Location is perfect, which is why the worker disruptions were so disappointing.

Very little not to like, although, we did not have use of the internet or phone during our stay, which did complicate our plans. Annabella did contact the cable service, but they were unable to repair it during our stay.

Shops, Eric Keiser Bakery, general convenience and feeling of safety.

We had a great time at Rue de Verneuil. It is very well located very close to Musee D'Orsay and about two blocks from the nearest Metro station - Rue de Bac. The flat is in excellent shape and the kitchen appears to be recently renovated. Two en suite bathroom-showers were very nice. The kitchen is small compared to US standards, and the shower in the master bedroom is a bit snug. But, for Europe, the flat is plenty abundant. Annabelle was extremely nice and very helpful. She speaks very little English, but we speak French well enough, so that was not an issue. Overall, we highly recommend Rue de Verneuil.

      Spaciousness, location, en suite bathrooms.

Renter-owner upstairs kept very late hours, and the floors are a bit creaky, so we could hear him walk around into the wee hours of the morning.

Lots of great patisseries, cheese shop, good restaurants and bistros. Two grocery stores within a block walk - one is the smallest grocery store I have ever been in - they had all that we needed, including a good wine selection, but the single aisle was very narrow. Very close to a Metro station. Excellent location.

This was our third visit to Rue de Verneuil and while we love the location, the apartment needs a few updates.

      Location.

Noise from upstairs tenant. We slept with ear plugs for several nights and even so resorted to banging on the ceiling at one point because the music penetrated the plugs!. Unfortunately, renovations were going on in the apartment next door, so that combined with the noisiest neighbor I have ever encountered, made for a long 10 days.

We appreciated the clean, bright apartment. Annabelle is the best. Loved Garfield too. We also appreciated the wireless internet access.

This is so minor. There were no sheets on one of the beds.

Absolutely everything! Shopping, restaurants, groceries, brasseries, patisserie, ATM, easy Metro access. Everyone was so nice. Fabulous neighborhood!

Convenient and secure location with access to restaurants, museums, metro, etc. Annabelle, the caretaker, was very helpful.

Location and plenty of space in the apartment for two people. After a day of touring, it was nice to come back to the apartment each evening and enjoy a glass of wine in a peaceful setting. It was also convenient in the morning to enjoy coffee with fresh croissants from the very nearby bakery!!

Although the apartment is large, it is more ideal for two adults with children versus four adults. The floor in the master bedroom is rather creaky and could use some attention. The drain in the master bath was very slow.

      Convenient to everything.

Fantastic! The apartment was so conveniently located, quiet and quite roomy. I can't imagine we could have had a better rental. Seriously!

Sometimes the pace of our visit and the places we went were wonderfully, of course stimulating and even a little hectic. Then we would return to our little oasis in the midst of everything and unwind. And Annabella was so welcoming and friendly...it felt like we were "home".

OK, the bathroom in the master bedroom was a little tight but the one off the twin bedroom was great. It might have been nice to have a washer-dryer.

The museum D'Orsay was right down the street! The Louvre across the river. The shops were interesting to peek into. Plenty of everything. Location was perfect!

Just what we hoped it would be - living like the locals! We became on first-name terms with the shop proprietors and were very sad to leave.

The fact that the owners had left it just like a home, with lovely linen, cutlery, crockery, and easy access to the Internet.

There was nothing at all not to like!

The apartment is peaceful and quiet, has simple but lovely furnishings, and was a perfect haven on a trip to Paris. The living room was so comfortable -- we enjoyed hanging out at the end of a busy day. Having two bathrooms also made things much more comfortable.

The shower in the master bedroom had a very slow drain.

We had a lovely stay. The apartment is beautiful and convenient. The court yard is also beautiful, with very well kept plants. A neighbor told me that the building is an old elegant private mansion, one of the most notable on the Rue de Verneuil. The concierge was friendly and helpful, and there was even a courtyard cat named Garfield.

The location - In the heart of the Left Bank.

There was construction upstairs, with hammering and drilling over our heads during breakfast, but this is kind of thing that can't be helped.

We loved its location in the middle of the Left Bank antique galleries. It was close to the Pont des Arts, to the Louvre and Tuileries, and to the Left Bank fashion district. It was convenient for food shopping, restaurants, and the metro.

We had a fabulous time! The property manager, Annabella, was a doll! The apartment was in the perfect part of town for everything we wanted to do. The neighborhood had a fantastic bakery, wine shop, and small markets for all our meals when we ate in. We got to know all the local merchants, and found them to be so helpful and delightful. We hope to return at some point and will plan to stay at Rue de Verneuil!

The location is fantastic and we loved the apartment itself. The layout was perfect for four, two of them being teenage girls! The decor was lovely and very comfortable.

The floor squeaked quite a bit in the bedroom, and the downstairs neighbors complained.

We enjoyed the local bakery the most, but everything on the street was fabulous! The wine merchant was so sweet to us. He helped us arrange for a taxi to the airport and allowed us to use his cell phone as a contact number since our phones didn't always work. He had great champagne too! The produce market next door had the sweetest strawberries and the owners were delightful. The Proxi market down the street had everything we needed and the owner was adorable to us. He would throw in a chocolate when we shopped.

Magical. The proximity of back-street life of the 7th Arr. with the easy walks to the Seine, Musee d'Orsay and so many other cultural and tourist sites made for a magic week.

The Rue de Verneuil apartment is situated on a courtyard in a 200-year oldr building on a quiet, historic street in the 7th Arr. Outside the door of the compound, the Rive Gauche pulses with life, shops are open they'll quickly get to know you, people meet for meals, and go about their business. Inside the compound, all is calm. The caretaker's family cat, a tiny tabby named Garfield, monitors comings and goings. A 5-minute walk takes you to the Musee d'Orsay, a 15-minute walk to the Louvre. To the east, on the Rue de Verneuil, near Rue de Saint Peres, is an apartment heavily decorated with graffiti, the home of Serge Gainsbourg. Gainsbourg a now deceased counter-cultural icon in France, still has fans who visit his former home to pay homage - a kind of French Graceland - but without the crowds

      Nothing

It was pure Paris, as I had heard it could be.

Fabulous location quiet, wonderful little street and neighborhood, easy access to museums. Apartment completely charming and a pleasure to return to.

A little small for 4 people since the 2nd bedroom is tiny. Kitchen cramped, but didn't really matter, since we ate most big meals out. Apartment had no real view except of the courtyard which was pleasant, but after a while you want a slightly bigger view.

Loved the area! Quiet, felt like a real neighborhood. Close to museums, wonderful food shops to get cheese, wine, vegetables and fruit. Loved being out of the fray but within walking distance of the busy areas.

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend this unit for your stay in Paris. We commented to the owner that the coffeemaker didn't work properly and took hours for one pot. Other than that, everything was great. The keyholder, Annabelle, is very kind and efficient. However, she speaks absolutely no English.

Ideal location. Safe and easy to walk to all of the major sites. Also, it was very nice having a place that was quiet to escape to that felt like your home away from home.

Creaky wood floor in master bedroom and able to hear occupant in unit behind master only two mornings. Would have liked a view - unit windows face courtyard - however, it was nice to have it quieter vs. being on a street.

Great neighborhood that was not too busy, close to shops and restaurants, safe to walk at all hours and perfect location to walk to the sites in Paris.

The location was superb - we were easily able to walk to convenient RER and Metro stations. Being so close to the Seine was perfect for accessing the Right Bank.

The smaller of the two bedrooms. Also, the water in the kitchen and in the first bathroom ran hot and then turned cold -- it was not consistent. Communicating with Annabel was very difficult as she doesn't speak English. However, there was a listing of pertinent phone numbers from the owner. During our last night at the apt., someone in the building had a very loud party, which woke us up at 11:30 AM.

      Again, the location

There were two things that were wonderful about this property. The first was that it is such a pretty place with beautiful furniture and paintings. It certainly felt like we were staying in a well-loved home rather than a rental property. The second perfect thing about this apartment is the location. We walked everywhere as it is so centrally located and in such a lovely neighborhood. I hope that I will be able to return to this apartment regularly.

I am sorry that the second bedroom is so small. But the ample ensuite bathroom helped to make up for the size of the bedroom.

I loved looking out the beautiful, large windows into such a pretty courtyard. And the neighborhood where this apartment is located is such a non-tourist area, so one felt removed from the crowds and more connected to real Paris life.

Everyone was very friendly. As others have said, Annabella, the concierge/keyholder, does not speak English, although some Portuguese, I learned. We found our high school level French adequate to communicate with her successfully. Also, we shopped frequently at the green grocer, boulangerie and other markets in the neighborhood. By the 2nd or 3rd time, we had become regulars and welcomed back each time with smiles. Finally, our French acquaintances came over one day and thought that they should come in from the suburbs of Paris to take this apartment for vacation. They thought it very nice - coming from a local's perspective.

The central location, yet extraordinarily quiet. If you wanted to stay close to home, everything you could possibly want restaurant-wise or grocery store-specialty shops are within one block. Museums, Metro stops, etc all within a short walking distance.

The second bedroom is very small, with two small twin beds and no windows directly in the room. Would have been nice to have a small washer-dryer.

It's Paris! Right there - everything is possible!!

We loved this charming apartment. The rooms were mostly spacious and well lit, with good light for reading. It was pleasingly furnished with some lovely antique pieces and comfortable sofas and had a newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms. It was remarkably quiet most of the time, especially given the busy quartier in which it is located, and had large windows looking out over the pleasant courtyard. It was clean and well maintained. It was well equipped with a CD player along with some classical CDs and even a hair dryer. We didn't try the TV, but there was one.

The smaller of the two bedrooms was tiny and not well suited for two adults. It had no window, which made it stuffy on warm days. In cool weather it would be fine for 1 or 2 children or 1 adult who's not claustrophobic. The person on the floor above us stomped around and sometimes slammed things late into the night. She or he kept us up a couple of nights. We would have benefited from some information about the apartment and appliances and the neighborhood. The owners should be encouraged to develop a folder of information for guests.

The location was fabulous. We walked everywhere. We were less than 2 blocks from the Musee d'Orsay and an easy walk to the Louvre, the Rodin Museum, and Boulevard St. Germain, and a pleasant longer walk to Notre Dame, the Pompidou Center, etc. The boulangerie on the corner made for an easy dash for croissants in the morning, and there were little grocery stores nearby. Rue de Verneuil, although in a very noisy quartier, is a quiet street with little traffic. Once in our apartment, it was peaceful, and I rarely heard any traffic noise.

Absolutely wonderful - would definitely rent again.

Without a doubt, our central location, close to the river, Musee D'Orsay, the bridges, and St. Germain were the highlights. The accommodations were excellent, with the exception of the smaller bedroom, and no windows. However, that would be a minor factor. The kitchen was well-stocked with utensils, dishwasher, cleaning supplies, dish towels, etc. The apartment itself was very clean and there were plenty of clean, white towels. I would not bother with bringing towels or facecloths.

As stated earlier, the smaller bedroom lacked a window, and the evenings were warm. A window would be have been great. Also, no "extra" toilet paper was evident. The regular housekeeper was on holidays and her cousin greeted us - we speak limited French, but I think the owner should leave additional instructions.

What can I say? There is not enough space on this page to describe the surrounding area....the Musee D'Orsay, across from the Louvre, the boulangerie across the street, the Bistros in the neighborhood, the wonderful but expensive fruit and veg stand right beside the apartment, the central location to some of the best sights in Paris, close to everything, and walking distance from the Eiffel Tower, Napolean's Tomb, Pont D'Alexandra, ....All Wonderful!

The location is perfect. The ambiance and feel of the apartment are great. It is absolutely quiet.

The bed is quite hard and took a few nights to get used to. We were a couple staying in a two bedroom, two bath apartment and the extra space was wonderful. However, the second bedroom is small and would be hard to use for any but small children.

Paris. What more can you say? In the neighborhood, the proximity to what you need is remarkable: produce shop, bakery, rotisserie shop, prepared food shop, grocery store, dry cleaner, and restaurants are all within 200 feet of the apartment.

It was a sweet French apartment and we loved being there. It was wonderful to come home to at night, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable.

The location and privacy were both excellent - we walked two blocks to the Seine, and another two blocks to the Musee d'Orsay. It only took us ten minutes to either the Metro, or Tuileries where we met our tours. Also, a short walk to our favorite spots in St. Germaine de Pres.

The second bedroom and bath were fine for our teenage granddaughters, but twin beds would not accommodate another couple easily on a future visit.

We enjoyed walking 12 block to the Patisserie for mini-quiches for our breakfast, also use of the mini-market for essentials. Brasseries and shops and necessities were so close at hand, and we loved being so close to the Seine, in the middle of Paris.

Please convince the owners to supply extra toilet paper. For the price of the property, having to purchase your own TP is inappropriate. Also,

Location was terrific. Also, the care with which the owners decorated the place. Two of the three of us had food poisoning for a few days and the beauty of the apartment made it easier to stay inside. Bathrooms were terrific too and it was nice to have two of them.

The people upstairs were pretty noisy. Perhaps they were vacationers like we were?

We love Paris and this location was perfect.

We were extremely pleased with the apartment. and it was much better than we expected. It is very comfortable and furnished with antiques and original works or art. The owners left a very nice note welcoming us to the apartment and giving us the names and numbers of helpful services. We expected the 2nd bedroom to be small, which it was, but the bathroom was quite large--bigger than the master bathroom. The kitchen is also small but extremely well equipped. It was perfect for preparing our morning breakfasts and an occasional light supper.

Perfect arrangement and size for 4--2 adults and 2 teenage children. Wonderful location--2 blocks from Seine and the Louvre just across the river. Two blocks from the Musee D'Orsay. Close to Germaine-des-Pres and the Latin Quarter. Local charcuterie, patisserie, fromagerie and other small markets within 1/2 to 1 block from apartment.

I can't think of anything we didn't like. Although this wasn't a problem for us, the walk up a curving staircase one flight with heavy luggage might be a deterrent for some.

Centrally located to many museums and places of interest. The Louvre is across the Seine 2 blocks to Pont Royal and 1/2 mile to main entrance at pyramid and it is two blocks to Musee D'Orsay. A charcuterie is across the street, a patisserie 1/2 block way on Rue de Bac, a fromagerie 1 block away, dry cleaners 1 block away on Rue de Bac, restaurante Les Ministeres is 1 block way on Rue de Bac. Walking distance to Germaine-des-Pres, Latin Quarter, Musee Rodin and Les Invalides. A little further, but a wonderful walk to Ile de Cite and Notre Dame. Metro station Rue de Bac is about 4 blocks from the apartment.

Everything! It was absolutely perfect. After a week there we hated to leave. it felt so much like home.

There really wasn't much not to like. If there is any negative it would be the small size of the second bedroom but even that wasn't a problem. Having two bathrooms was such a bonus.

Nothing except that a very minor point there was only 3 wine glasses and we could have used a few more when we had friends over. There were no English language TV channels available and the pay TV had expired.

We would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was perfectly suited to our needs and exceeded our expectations.

The place is very classy. Plenty of antiques. Lots of thought put into the ambiance. The master bedroom, living room and one bathroom are pretty spacious. You know you are in the home of someone with taste. It has an authentic Paris feel, which is the whole point of staying there. Being in one of those courtyard complexes was wonderful.

Only caution is that the second bedroom is small. So the place can handle a couple or a couple with a child or two. Would not recommend four adults staying there. Part of the charm is part of the caution that there are antiques and the floors are finished with wax. So guests must be mindful of that. But it was easy to adjust to and added greatly to the ambiance. Kitchen is small, but it was fine for fixing a light breakfast.

Everything. It's a lovely neighborhood filled with great shops, plus very good and affordable restaurants. We loved roaming around the neighbhood. Virtually everything we wanted to see and do around Paris was within walking distance. Close to Musee D'Orsay, the river, the islands and the terrific art galleries along Rue de Seine, and fairly close to the fabulous Jardin Luxemborg. The locale simply cannot be beat!

      Would love to return.

The apartment was more than we had expected. It was clean, well furnished, and suited our family of 4, perfectly. Probably the best thing about staying at the apartment was to return at the end of a busy day, and feel totally relaxed - play a CD with some of our favorite music, open a bottle of French wine, reminisce about the day's events, and feel that we were actually a part of Paris. We had visited Paris several times in the past, but never with the same relaxed happy feeling of staying in our own apartment, and not constantly surrounded by other tourists.

I must say that reading comments from previous renters on this web-site, I had a few concerns about their negative comments. Yes, the apartment building is old, and the original floor boards may squeak a little, but it was not a problem. The floor boards are nicely refinished, and covered with carefully selected rugs. In fact, the apartment has been furnished with some very nice antiques. The kitchen may be small, but has all the equipment needed, such as pots, pans, cutlery, corkscrew, wine glasses, dishes, oven, dishwasher, etc. - everything desired to prepare a snack or a meal. The lack of hot water has been corrected, and there was always enough hot water for showers for the 4 of us. My only negative comment would be that the inner courtyard walls and shutters were being repaired and painted during our visit - but, now it will be looking especially nice if you decide to rent the apartment.

We discovered quickly that eating out in Paris is expensive. An evening meal for the 4 of us, which was adequate - nothing special, with a bottle of wine, and no coffee or desert came to nearly 150 euros, approx. 200 US dollars This could add up considerably for our 10 night stay. So we took advantage of the kitchen, and the excellent food shops in the same block as the apartment - a bakery, green grocer, small grocery store with inexpensive wines, a deli with meats, cheeses, pates, salads, roast chicken, and freshly prepared foods that you could pop into the oven for 20 minutes - and come out with a very good meal. With the coffee maker, breakfast was a cinch with delicious breads and pastries, fruit juice - we especially enjoyed bottled apricot nectar from the corner store, and eggs scrambled with fresh mushrooms. Have you ever used eggs that have the expiration date stamped on each egg? Just about everything needed was obtained within the same block, or around the corner.

I give an unqualified recommendation for the rental of this property. It is a most lovely apartment, and obviously has received the care and attention of its owners. Note: It is not at all suitable for small children, given its period antique decor... It is incredibly close to major attractions and has a wonderful ambience. When I return to Paris, I'm renting this property again!

This was a most excellent place to stay -- it is within walking distance of nearly every Paris attraction, is close to great shopping, and has every amenity available to it. The property is simply beautifully decorated with period antiques. I felt at home, and felt pampered at the same time. It could not have been more convenient.

I have nothing negative to say about this property -- I would definitely go back!

The surrounding area is an attractive arts and antiques district, a simple five-minute walk to the Louvre or the Musee d'Orsay. There were a French bakery and restaurants nearby, easy access to an ATM, and two small grocery stores were a stone's throw away. We walked everywhere -- only took one cab the whole time we were there.

This was a delightful place to stay while in Paris and I would definitely recommend it. It was very special and we hope to return.

A terrific location, secure and central to all the major sights and metro. Many fresh food choices available within minutes of the property, including specialty stores and 2 small supermarkets. Many local brasseries and restaurants within a few minutes walk. Good quality appliances, including dishwasher, delightful decor and a peaceful location made for a relaxing time after long and weary days of walking. Annabel was very friendly and obliging. She purchased some basic food items prior to our arrival according to the list I had provided, and did some washing for us for 10 Euro per load. Her generosity in doing this for us was greatly appreciated.

The lack of laundry facilites. The tiny kitchen. A small microwave, milk jug and salt and pepper mills would be a welcome addition. It was difficult conversing with Annabel as she speaks no English and we spoke very little French.

The availability of fresh food, from bakery items to wine, fresh fruit and vegetables, delicatessen and supermarket items. Automatic teller machines near the bakery. Walking along the river, St. Germain du pres, watching the fireworks on New Year's Eve from the Pont de la Concorde, interesting local shops.

All 3 of us agreed that we would heartily recommend the apartment to anyone. We felt that it was definitely worth the money. It gave us a wonderful 9 days in Paris and an experience that was not to be forgotten! We would do it again gladly, only staying longer! I had stayed in a Rentvillas villa in Umbria a year and a half before and both experiences were excellent. Though one was rural and the other very urban, both were outstanding properties!

We loved everything! The location was ideal -- very centrally situated but extremely quiet and private. The living room and master bedroom were beautifully furnished and the other rooms were very nicely done. The kitchen was very compact and convenient. We really enjoyed the luxury of heated towel racks. It was immaculate and the ambience was marvelous. We quickly learned where to get our fresh fruit on the next block and where the nearby grocery store was located. We had 3 women friends staying there and all 3 were totally charmed by the apartment and everything about it. Annabelle was very gracious and welcoming and extremely helpful.

Just a small thing, but a washing machine and maybe a dryer? would have been nice - although, I'm not sure where even one would fit!

The proximity to the Musee d'Orsay was wonderful. We used our museum tickets and walked there several times for shorter visits and then could return home to rest if we got tired. The little shops nearby were very convenient and had everything we could want to prepare meals. There were several restaurants in the vicinity so we didn't have to go far to get a meal when we didn't feel like providing our own.

This was apartment was one of the best parts of our vacation -- a true escape from the bustle of the city, yet conveniently in the middle of everything. Annabelle, the key holder, was delightful and very helpful.

It was very spacious for the 4 of us, all adults, beautifully decorated, quiet and very comfortable. Everything was supplied. Interesting building and area.

Hard to find something negative but perhaps the lack of a washing machine. But, the key holder did our laundry since the local laundromat had disappeared. Also, there was a gas odor that we were never able to track down.

Everything we needed for apartment living was within a 3-minute walk - greengrocer next door, deli market across the street, bakery on the corner, cheese and wine shops on the next block, several small grocery stores in each direction. An electrical store, which proved very helpful in getting the proper plugs for my digital camera recharge equipment, is on the next block. All of the proprietors, except at the bakery, were very charming. Lots of restaurants in the area, but we used Zagat's and ventured further out. Absolutely superb location for museums -- easy walking distance to Orsay and Louvre.

Rue de Verneuil is just one block off the River Seine, across from The Louvre, near the Musee D'orsay. A quiet, canyon of old flat front buildings squeezed tight up against two narrow sidewalks. Thank God for wheeled suitcases. Look for the black lacquered door with two enormous brass door knobs on each side of the ten foot wide opening. We rang the bell and the door opened to reveal the bright smile of Annabelle, our hostess and caretaker of the apartment. We stepped into a cavernous cobblestone driveway that connected the street to an enclosed courtyard. The dramatic dark entry gave the sunlight courtyard a dazzling appeal. Annabel was a treat to deal with and provided great advice. This place is in the heart of Paris. You can not beat the location and comfort of the apartment. Compared to a hotel this is a stunning value. I will stay here again. Rentvillas did a great job of describing this to a tee. We loved it.

This is a Paris Pied à Terre. If you stay here you are no longer a Tourist, you become a Local. It is a compact, well appointed apartment with a view of the quiet courtyard. The location cannot be beat. You are just blocks away from The Louvre, The Musee D'Orsay, great cafes, and you are on the Left Bank - how chic !! But, you are also snug in a quiet cocoon when it's time to get away from the Paris hustle. The bedroom is comfortable with en suite bath. The sitting room is large and well-appointed. The kitchen is an efficient design with all of the necessities. But who wants to cook? The description says it sleeps 4, but the apartment would be cramped with 2 more adults. It would be fine with two adults and two kids. The location provides instant access to every Paris landmark.

There is no view other than the courtyard. You give up the view for a quiet setting away from the street noise.

Within 1 block of this property there is a cheese shop with so many treats you can't count - perfect for assembling a picnic lunch for the Luxembourg Gardens. A bakery with almond croissants that would make a grown man weep, and many artisan breads and pastries. A local bar for a quick bite or afternoon glass of wine. A wide selection of service and retail shops - dry cleaner, bank machine, grocer, small retail shops selling anything you could need. Two wine stores with great prices on French wines. Five restaurants with complete meals from 15 euros to 150 euros. You really do not have to go off the block to get everything you need.

    • The building is old...

The building is old but well maintained and authentic right down to the cobblestone in the courtyard and hand carved stone. The keyholder, was friendly and very nice. The apartment was clean, well decorated and very comfortable. Huge windows onto the courtyard allowed in plenty of light and fresh air without traffic noise. The furnishings were very well done, some antiques mixed with practical, comfortable modern furniture. Everything you could ever need for cooking was supplied in the very modern, compact kitchen. Overall, a great location in a very upscale and desirable part of Paris.

One block to the Musee D'Orsay 2 blocks to the Louvre, The Seine and wonderful shops and services are all around the apartment. Everything you want to see in Paris is within walking distance.

It is a wonderful location, wonderful old building and the furnishings were so lovely. Nice welcoming letter from the owner.

Very comfortable floorplan and everything needed was provided. The furnishings were so nice and yet homey feeling.

The hot water ran cold in the shower on and off.

We were in the heart of everything we wanted to do and see.

The apartment was perfectly located, beautifully decorated and furnished, very quiet and very spacious. The concierge is delightful and very helpful. I would recommend the apartment to anyone.

      Everything!

Fans for unusually hot and still nights would be helpful.

The apartment was extremely quiet, given that it faces out on a courtyard and is located on a small and quiet street, but was only two blocks from the Seine and the Musee d'Orsay.

It was in a wonderful part of Paris, in a great building, and close to everything.

The apartment was roomy, secure, and had a lot of charm.

Several things, in no particular order: At night it got a little chilly and the heat wasn't always working properly, or maybe we didn't know how to work it properly. The building was a bit noisy at times, but nothing unmanageable. The kitchen was a little too cozy--cramped would be a better description. There's really only room for one designated chef.

All within walking distance were: a gourmet deli, a great boulangerie, a fromagerie, lots of nice restaurants, brasseries, and cafes, the Louvre!

We wish we could give this property a 5 star rating, but in all fairness we cannot. Five stars would denote perfection, and although the apartment was quite satisfactory, it was not perfection. The online pictures are quite representative. Overall, the apartment would be considerd "spacious" for Paris standards. The kitchen was tiny, but very well equipped. (The only thing we missed having was a microwave oven, but there really wasn't anywhere to put one in the kitchen due to space constraints.) The second bedroom with the 2 twin beds (very narrow) was small, but for two pre-teen age children, it was adequate. The dining table off to one side of the living room really did not accommodate 4 people at one seating for meals. The master bedroom was pleasantly furnished, with a very comfortable bed. There are gobs of linen, but all are rather stiff. (We've come upon the conclusion that, generally speaking, Europeans do not believe in wasting energy on clothes dryers.) We selected this apartment primarily because previous renters had described it as being "immaculate". In all honesty, by the time we rented the place, it was in need of a thorough spring cleaning. Things were neat and organized, but the shelves needed dusting and the floors needed cleaning. Aside from the floors (just don't walk around in white socks) and the dusty shelves, the apartment would be considered clean. A washing machine (and dryer, of course), along with the previously mentioned microwave, would have been nice. Overall it was a comfortable stay, but we would choose different accommodations the next time we visit Paris.

The apartment is very centrally located if you are interested in taking in ALL the major sights, from the Eiffel Tower (about a 30 minute walk), to Notre Dame (about a 30 minute walk in the opposite direction), to the Louvre (less than a 15 minute walk across the Seine). Of course, the Musee d' Orsay is less than 10 minutes away. (Remember, we're walking around with children -- not the fastest mode of transportation.) The neighborhood is quite nice, with pastry shops, wine merchant (Nicholas - a must), butcher, produce store, cheese shop, and a small grocery store all within 1 or 2 short blocks. From a location point of view, we could not have done any better for our first trip to Paris with 2 children in tow.

Although not a "surprise" per say (after all, we were warned about this from previous renters), the squeaky floors ARE quite noisy, particularly if you have members of your party retiring for bed at different hours. Tiptoeing around seemed to make it worse, if that was possible! Also, lack of water pressure on the shower was not wonderful. And yes, the upstairs tenant DID keep late (or should we say "early in the morning") hours. (You can hear them moving around on THEIR squeaky floors.) The light switches for the reading lamps over the beds (master and one of the twin beds) did not work consistently.

It was prettier and larger than the photos; beautifully furnished, extremely clean, and well cared for.

The location, neighborhood, apartment size, and furnishings. The apartment manager was very helpful (she did our laundry!), though she spoke no English.

The water pressure! The upstairs tenant kept late hours.

Everything we needed was on our block. It was a very safe area. We really experienced life in Paris.

We were very pleased with the property, and thought the pictures were very representative. The furnishings are lovely, and make for a very comfortable feeling.

We loved having shops, bakeries, antique shops, etc. right on the same street, however, the apt. was set back from the street, so you never had street noise. It's very charming and decorated very nicely.

On Tuesday night there was a very loud party directly over us. On every other night there was also noise from the people walking around until very late.

We were so very close to museums, restaurants and shopping. The area is quite upscale, and very pleasant to be walk around in.

The apartment was even more beautifully appointed than I expected, with attractive and comfortable sofas, oriental rugs, beautiful antiques and artwork. Beautifully proportioned space, and beautifully appointed with classic furnishings. Comfortably elegant. Big windows all on one side, so there is good afternoon sunlight in all the rooms. Excellent location.

Enjoyed the view onto the private courtyard and the quiet from the street. It was immaculately clean. All appliances were new and easy to use. The kitchen is small, but well-furnished. The bathrooms were modern and updated, with good light. The location is superb, and I felt very safe in the building because of the secured doors from the courtyard to the street, as well as the locked door into the building itself. The rooms get good, bright sun in the afternoon, because of all the large windows. Though the neighborhood is a busy one, with a butcher, pastry shop and grocers all within a block's walk, it is very peaceful and quiet in the interior courtyard of the building and in the apartment itself. Annabella, the concierge who has the key, speaks no English at all, but she is cheerful, charming and helpful, and because I can speak a wee bit of French, we managed to communicate OK. All in all, the apartment exceeded my expectations, and I had a wonderful time there.

Floors were so creaky that you could not move around parts of the apartment without disturbing others. (Worth it for the beauty of the old floors though!). Some noise from upstairs neighbors.

Easy walk to Musee d'Orsay and Louvre and Isle de la Cite. Bakery, butcher and grocer all within a block or so from apartment, which made it easy to shop and have some meals at home. Very pedestrian friendly neighborhood. Close to Rue du Bac Metro station.

Property was in a great location, close to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, and the metro. The people who lived there were very nice. The caretaker, who looked after the apartment for the owner was very helpful and kind.

We enjoyed the location and cleanliness of the apartment.

      Wood floors squeaked.

It was close to museums, shopping, and transportation.
