Right next to the grandest avenue in the world and just a stroll to the beautiful gardens surrounding the Presidential Palaces, this very comfortable studio is in the building which in the 18 th and 19 th century housed the Emperor Napoleon’s Guards! This large studio is very well adapted to a couple’s stay because of the generous space it provides in the main living/sleeping area, as it is completely separated from both the kitchen or bathroom. No, you will not be ‘sleeping in the kitchen’ here! A door separates the living room off from...Read more

St. Petersburg, FloridaGreat location says it all!

Just back from one week stay in Paris at #131 Champs. The apartment was very clean and tidy. The sleeping couch has been replaced recently and therefore much more comfortable than I thought it might be! I don't think its a double, but a queen which is rare in Europe. With the window open it can get very noisy and loud especially with the garbage trucks and fast cars on the street below. The bathroom is as described, quite large with a sky light making it very airy. My complaints are, the stairs, which once you find the light switch are not so bad except with luggage. Also the kitchen does not have an electric coffee pot like americans use, but only a push type or heated water one. I missed my morning real coffee. There are of course many bakeries nearyby and 2 metro stops woth in easy walking distance. Having a phone and internet connection is a plus. The building manager and others we met were very helpful and friendly in the building.

The Pros: The studio size was adequate for our 8 day stay. The studio/bathroom were spotless upon our arrival to our extreme pleasure. The location was perfect, right off the Champs Elysees & metro line 1 which connects you anywhere in the city practically. The bathroom was very roomy which is rare in Paris. Having a land line phone was very handy as well, all we had to do is buy a phone card. The window looks out to a charming street and beautiful buildings across the way. There was a small market right down our street which we found extremely convenient for our stay - we bought our own breakfasts. The cons: The bed was not as comfortable as we'd hoped with the mattress being so thin, there was alot of street noise early in the morning (trash collection) and there is no elevator which makes it hard when lugging luggage.

This June 09 will be our fourth stay in this apartment. Walk to the museums, Arc,and Eiffel Tower. Great local restaurants, a boulangere on each corner below, all wonderful. Property is clean and comfortable, perfect for a couple. Only hide a bed I have found comfortable. Big bright bathroom and adequate kitchen.Metro stops a five minute walk. We are obviously happy there since this will be our fourth visit in four years

We enjoyed staying at this small but nicely decorated and clean unit,
we found the local tenants friendly, especially after trying our school
French on them, and discussing NZ. Great location for many fine walks
along Champs Elysee, restaurants, famous sights etc. -

When I first arrived at the locked gate at street level, one block off of the Champs Ellysee, I was not impressed. I had to get through two locked/coded doors (supplied by the company before arrival) before I came to the staircase and walked up 3 flights. The building had been enclosed and echoed like crazy - the halls were dark and it was impossible to see during the day, much less after dark. However, when we arrived inside the apartment, it was nice but small. It had great light and big windows you could open. The fold-out bed was a bit disappointing - but it ended up working alright. I never could get the phone to work - but that may have been me. The bathroom was great - there was a heated towel bar. We could wash and hang our jeans and have them dry in just hours. The kitchen is merely a hallway by the two closets. Storage was great. The location could not be beat for the price. Also we just loved the manager of the apartments - who did not speak a lick of English - but his smile and eagerness to assist was fantastic. He had a cat named Lola. I would rent this apartment again because it was clean and perfectly located. We literally walked everywhere! Late night tended to be loud out on the street - so bring ear plugs and a small flashlight. Also, we went out several times after midnight - and found it quite unintimidating. Watch out for the gypsies - they are clever clever. They get their crowd around you and bump you or lose their balance - often using children on the other side to distract you. Also, don't tip more than one Euro at dinner, since tips are included with all meals at restaurants and cafes. It's easy to travel in France. Be partient with the French and don't approach them too quickly if asking directions. Approach slowly and nod confirmation of your presence. Ask to be excused before you start jabbering. They will appreciate it and help you if you are not obnoxious or too forward. Have Fun - I want to go back right now!
