Very cozy “bird nest” type studio, on the upper floor with a large elevator, so no stairs with heavy luggage to carry up! This is a very central area, in close walking distance to the famed Montorgueil shopping farmers’ market area, and Chatelet, the center point of Paris. You will be only a two minute walk to the metro, Reaumur Sebastopol, which is great for transport. You can also stroll to the Hotel de Ville, the mayor’s Palace, in about 10-12 minutes or Notre Dame in about 15-17 minutes walk.
This is a large handsome building h...Read more

Grantham UKPerfect Petite Pied a Terre
Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This was the fourth trip my teenage daughter and I have taken to Paris from the UK, and our second time renting an apartment from Vacations in Paris.
Their service was excellent, with the key and instructions arriving well in advance of our UK departure.
The little studio along the Blvd Sebastopol is lovely, bright and clean, having everything we needed to rest, cook and make ourselves at home. We travel very light, so having a clothes washer is a bonus!
The apt is easy to find, very handy for the metro, central for walking to most places, and best of all there is a Velib station on the corner. I Highly recommend signing up for the Velib bikes - a fun, cheap and easy way to get around!
We loved the Monoprix store downstairs, handy for anything we needed. There's also a pharmacy across the street, and a wonderful patisserie just around the corner along Rue Reaumur. for the best fresh foods we walked a bit farther to Rue Montorgueil.
Renting an apartment is a much better way to getting a true Parisien experience. It's nice not having to pass nosey reception staff on your way in and out, and a real money-saver being able to prepare at least one meal a day for yourself - leaves more spare cash for wine by the carafe at the pavement cafes in the early evening.
One of the lifts was out of action during our stay but we didn't mind much - the works were essential. The hallways and landings are clean and quiet, and the caretaker of the building is a friendly lady who speaks no English but appreciated our efforts to converse in French!
The one drawback to the apartment was also commented on in the visitor book by the previous guests: a musty smell which came from a moldy mop the cleaner had left (damp) in the bathroom. I didn't want to throw it away, but I did leave a note in Pigeon French for the cleaner, hoping he/she will get it replaced.
This budget apartment is a real gem in a lovely location. I wish it was mine! -

Sydney, AustraliaCharming apartment, excellent location and there's a supermarket
Left on 02/07/2011 for a stay in January 2010
We had an excellent stay at this apartment. The interior is charming and very functional with lots of space and a very comfortable bed. It is right in the centre of Paris within a comfortable walking distance of most major sites. For those a bit further out of town, right outside the door is a metro station on lines 3 and 4, easy to get anywhere in the city.
The extra bonus of this charming place - a giant monoprix supermarket on the groundfloor! This allows for easy access to fresh bread to start the day. -

Germantown, MarylandWho wants a magical vacation? Everyone!
Left on 05/27/2010 for a stay in April 2010
My friends and family thought I was crazy going to another country, for a week, by myself and not really able to speak French. Of course I went anyway! "Vacation in Paris" made it so easy. All my questions were answered quickly by email. They gave me names of who to call to get me to the apartment from the airport and back. They held my hand when the volcano in Iceland threatened my travel plans. The key to my Paris home arrived well before my departure and that added to my excitement! The apartment turned out to be in a perfect location! It was an easy walk to the Louvre, the metro was practically right outside my front door. I let myself get lost in Paris and it was wonderful! I had tears in my eyes the night I realized I could see the lights of the Eiffel Tower out the window just a few steps down the hall from my apartment. So back to my original question. Who wants a magical vacation?

Left on 05/13/2010 for a stay in April 2010
The apartment was clean and had all the amentities (however the iron was missing in action). Metro and Bus Stop right outside the door. Then again, could easily walk to all the sights. Monoprix was on the first floor- one stop shopping for food and essentials. Only downside, Police station nearby so alot of sirens heard at all hours. Oh, and fully depress the Lift buttons or you might not get the floor you need.

Toronto, CanadaThe loft life on Blv Sebastopol
Left on 01/10/2010 for a stay in December 2009
This flat lived up to the promise of the posting on Vacation In Paris, and I had a delightful stay. The bed was warm and cosy, the flat was very sweet, clean and comfortable, and the location could not be beat.
This flat is in a very nice, safe, and charming building, with the added bonus of a huge Monoprix on the ground floor, accessible from street level just outside the entrance to the flat. Great for picking up some fresh food, wine, bread and very fun and high quality grocery treats for eating in.
The Metro was literally steps from the front door, and for the person who likes to walk, this flat is in a great central location - 5 minutes walk from Rue Montorgueil with its fabulous shops, bakeries, cheese shops and cafes. It is a very easy and enjoyable walk down to Ile de la Cite along Blv Sebastopol as well, which I did several times. Plus easy walk to le Marais district.
There are several good restaurants and cafes on rue Montorgueil and rue Tiquetonne which are a very close walk as well.
The location was truly ideal.
In the flat itself, the bathroom is a nice size and there is a line to dry washing, and there is a washing machine which is a very handy appliance to have! The kitchen is small but quite sufficient for a short stay and cooking modest meals. The flat is well maintained, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view was classic Paris garret, with 3 windows letting in lots of light and a nice view of the Blvd Sebastopol buildings and flats.
I highly recommend this property and would certainly stay here again! -

This studio apartment is in a great location. There is a metro stop and a grocery store just a few feet from the entrance to the apartment. The bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend the apartment to two "smallish" people. If you are over 5'10", you might be annoyed by the slanted walls and very tiny kitchenette. The apartment is at the top of the building and the elevator is not always reliable, so you have to be somewhat physically fit to climb all those stairs - however, it's a great way to work off all the croissants you will be eating! The only thing we were missing in the apartment is a wardrobe or closet, and a good chefs knife. We did not enjoy living out of our suitcases. However, all in all, I'd say its a great place to stay.

SydneyLoved Paris, enjoyed the apartment
Left on 08/01/2009 for a stay in June 2009
The overall level of cleanliness was below average. Very dusty and quite obviously only given a quick clean before we arrived. Re painting of the apartment would be a good idea as it is beginning to look a little tired.
The above said were were at the less expensive end of the market and we did have a great time in Paris in part because of the apartments great location -

We only have good things to say about our experience with VIP. They were very quick to answer all the questions we sent to them via e-mail, and the process of making the reservation and paying for it was very easy. We got the apartment key before we left, and the security deposit was refunded ten days after we came back.
The apartment was exactly what we expected. The pictures on the web site were accurate. The apartment was small, but didn't feel confining. It had a nice bathroom, and the kitchen worked very well for our needs. It has a nice TV with many channels, some of them in English. The elevators in the front of the building were very small and old. The one on the back is a lot better.
The best thing about the apartment was its location. There's a good supermarket about 20 yards away from the front door, and the metro station is less than half a block from the building. Additionally, it's possible to walk to many of Paris' more famous attractions.
