Enjoy this great two bedroom apartment located on Ile Saint Louis- one of the two little islands in the middle of the River Seine. You can cross one of its several bridges to take you directly to such well know locations as Notre Dame, the Marais, Hotel de Ville, and the Latin Quarter. This is a very central location of course, with several options of transport nearby, with Pont Marie metro stop on line 7 is just a few minutes stroll. You might find it a bit difficult to leave your little island, as there are so many special attractions just outside your door!...Read more

Albany, NYGreat spot
Left on 05/01/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Location was wonderful. The apartment was nothing out of the ordinary. The bedrooms were fine. Kitchen was very small, but we were not surprised by this. I knew it would be a fifth floor walk up. Unfortunately, I was having knee issues and this was very difficult for me. Anyone with trouble climbing steps might want to think about this. Also, the tub was very slippery and it was quite high to climb over. I recommended to the rental company to suggest a bath mat. It made me a bit nervous. Neighborhood was quiet with great shops and restaurants. So close to the Latin Quarter and the Marais. The island shows the best side of Paris. Yummy ice cream and gelato around the block.

Chandler, ArizonaGreat Location, Poor Quarters
Left on 11/12/2012 for a stay in October 2012
While this location is absolutely ideal, the cleanliness of the property was poor, at best. Utensils had dried food, glasses had dried lipstick. I had to wash all dishes we used by hand prior to use to ensure cleanliness. The refrigerator had such a stench, we cringed at what might have been left in there! Bathroom had mold growing in the shower and on the shower curtain as well as months of dust & dirt in the vent. We utilized 2 of the 3 beds and there was only 1 comforter to go around. Meanwhile the "heater" had so much dust & dirt in the filter, it never warmed the apartment. While it was 30 degrees at night, this made for quite uncomfortable sleeping conditions.
There were scuff marks galore on all the walls and numerous tiles were broken & left sitting in the open throughout the apartment. While this did not deter from the functionality of the apartment, it certainly did not look like the pictures displayed!
I would absolutely recommend staying on Ile. St. Louis as this is a perfect starting & ending point and the most central that you could be to all visiting points in Paris. However, I would not recommend this apartment until some serious TLC is given!Response from Vacation In Paris - 12/06/2012

BostonPerfect location for first time in Paris with teens
Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We rented the apartment this summer for 5 days in Paris. It is as other reviews have said in a wonderful location on a small island in the middle of the city. So close to all the major tourist attractions. The adults in the group had all been in Paris before but not the teenagers in our group. It was very nice to be able to do short trips out and still be close enough to come back and relax. The island is lively and touristy in the day but quiet in the morning and night. A small grocery store with all the essentials is just a half block away. Also within the block are a bakery, cheese store and plenty of restaurants. If you don't feel like cooking the local restaurants sell crepes just at their outside counters. We had delicious ones made by a very nice South asian guy.
We were there during the Olympics so perhaps Paris was more festive than usual. We are within walking distance to the City Hall area which was transformed into a big screen and outdoor viewing area. The bridges from the island to Ile de Cite was full of street performers at night.
The apartment itself is as shown in the pictures on the site. Small but plenty for the five of us. The teen girls slept in their own twin beds which they gave a thumbs up. Husband and I shared a comfy double, not much space there for much besides the bed and bureau but was fine. One more adult slept in the living room pull out bed. The unit has a aC unit which we did use as the afternoons got hot in the apartment. Will not cool the entire apartment down but was helpful. Kitchen is very small but has everything you need. We mainly just ate breakfast there, got fresh bread, cheese, butter and fruits from downstairs and had a feast every morning. Latin Quarter within walking distance. Also a nearby bike rental location which we used once. Hard to use the bike rentals if you only have american credit cards, the machines will not take, we did it online but was a hassle as it would not allow us to use a credit card more than once.
The apartment itself was clean on arrival, everything seemed to work well. The rental agency Vacation in Paris was responsive and sent back our key deposit promptly. We had a minor miscommunication with the manager on our last day as needed to store our bags there for the day but this was not communicated clearly to the cleaning person. On the plus side, we were able to see that they stripped the entire apartment sheeting. The walk up and down the stairs was not a problem for our family but maybe an issue for older folks.
Our kids loved the apartment and it was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. Having the extra rooms, small as they were allowed us all to have a bit of quiet time away from each other.
Decided to post as usually we use tripadvisor for hotels but first time doing an apartment rental other than a us timeshare so had hoped the other reviews were accurate-- and they were!
Highlights of Paris- seeing Eiffel tower lights at night, going up to Montmarte to see the sunset and watch the amazing soccer skills of the street performers. -

USAPerfect location for making memories
Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in November 2010
This was our first experience in renting an apartment abroad. The management firm was very professional and organized. The in-town manager was helpful with questions and very personable. We loved all being together as opposed to two separate hotel rooms. This experience helped make a memory of a lifetime.

We stayed here with our two children 11 and 13 yrs old. The location

itself was quaint and comfortable. -

We rented this apartment for the last three
days of our 5 week family holiday. It was a
terrific base for exploring and walking in
Paris. Great location, quiet and had lots of
character. We held two adults and 3 children
with ease. No complaints, no issues and I
would rent it again. Don't plan on any large
grocery shops, dinner parties or such, since
the kitchen is TINY. -

Left on 05/22/2009 for a stay in November 2007
We had a great time in this compact two bed
apartment. The location meant you could walk
to loads of lovely spots, and there were shops
and restaurants on the doorstep. Several metro
stations were within easy reach, so it was
open access to all Paris. You enter the
building through a traditional porte cochere,
climbing a lovely wooden staircase to the flat
. The kitchen is tiny, but has all mod cons
and the living room windows open onto a
charming cobbled courtyard, we enjoyed
breakfasting while looking over les toits de
Paris, or at least some of them. The bath is
of the teeny variety, the shower is good
though.
It was great to have free calls and internet
access, and the landlord was very helpful when
we had a problem. The package prepping us for
the trip was very helpful and I've recommended
it to friends.
Highly enjoyable, very genuine experience of
Parisian living, in a peaceful and central
spot. It suited us all and we were a gaggle,
one couple in their 50s, one in their 20s and
a 12 year-old. Having lived in the 18th before
I loved it!

Brisbane, QLD, AustraliaAs central as can be!
Left on 05/22/2009 for a stay in July 2007
This property on the Ile St Louis was so central we could walk to The Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral and many other wonderful sights. Just walking around the quaint shops on the Ile St Louis was delightful in itself. The homeliness of the apartment was wonderful relief for a travelling family. It must get some sort of award for having the smallest functional kitchen you can imagine ... tiny in size but absolutely everything you need!
Special mention to Vacation in Paris who were great to work with when organising the booking. -

Greenfield, MassachusettsOne of the best parts
Left on 05/21/2009 for a stay in June 2008
Our stay in Paris was made 100 times better by staying in this apartment which was spacious enough for my wife and I in one bedroom, our 18 and 13 year old daughters in the other bedroom and there was still enough room for my wife's brother who stayed on the pull out couch located in the living room. The beds and even the sofa provided great night sleeps. The location was perfect just across the bridge from Notre Dame, 30 seconds from a little grocery store and great restaurants. It made us feel less like tourist to cook our own meals if we wanted to and to come "home" and relax in our own flat. The washer and drier was great - next time we wont bring as much clothes knowing we could wash them.
Its hard to find negative points but the fifth floor location made the end of the day a bit more tiring, but being on the top floor we didnt have to worry about the foot falls of nosy neighbors even though we didnt hear one peep from other renters next door - nice thick walls! The kitchen while fully stocked with cookware is small but workable so long as you limit it to one person at a time. Be prepared to purchase essentials for cooking unless the previous renter has left some for you. The dish washer takes a long time so dont wait for it and dont run it at night to sustain the solitude the place provides both renters and actual owners. Would return to this place in a heart beat! -

South AustraliaThe heart of Paris!
Left on 05/14/2009 for a stay in September 2008
We stayed at this wonderful apartment last year with our 2 children, aged 11 and 14. After spending hours trailing the internet,I stumbled across the site and saw the apartment in the location and price range that we wanted. The agency were great to deal with in terms of information and payment.
The apartment was in a fantastic location-indeed the heart of Paris!. We could walk everywhere and the local environs were just charming. Whilst the kitchen was quite tiny(probably not unusual) the bedrooms and sitting room were large and comfortable. It also had enough amenities in the kitchen for eating in, although the dishwasher was not quite big enough. We did need to be mindful of the noise level, particularly coming back late, so I would probably not recommend this apartment for families with younger children. The wine on arrival and phone call prior to departure was an additional bonus.
My husband's only concern was that he thought that a coat of paint would not go astray and that some wiring and electrical cords in the lounge room needed to be improved. This did not detract at all, however from the charm, location and general ambience of the apartment and it's environs. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to family and friends. -

Fresno, CAFirst choice!
Left on 05/14/2009 for a stay in February 2008
This was a great apartment for my best friend and I - we rented it for 2 straight weeks. It was the perfect 'home base' in a location - the Ile St. Louis - filled with Parisian charm. The apartment is relatively small, at least by American standards, but this should not dissuade anyone from staying there. The amenities and furnishings are exactly as described and the owner couldn't have been more helpful. The flat is reached by climbing to the top floor (I think I remember it being 96 steps!), but it's more than worth it once you reach the top. We stayed in the month of February, and had absolutely no complaints about the flat, building, or neighbourhood; all was wonderful. I would (and hopefully will) stay there again! It's a bit pricey, but worth it. I highly recommend this property :)

This was a wonderful choice for my best friend and I; we had this 2-bedroom apt. (on an island in the Seine!) for 2 whole weeks. It's in a great location and the apt. itself has everything guests could want. I was not put off at all by the fact that the apt. is small by American standards - that actually added to its charm. Being on the top floor gave me some much-needed exercise by climbing (I think I remember 96) stairs to reach it. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it, in one of my favourite cities of the world. I would highly recommend the apartment. It was exactly as described and all amenities were present. 'Enjoy' to whoever gets this one!

Wow, we were staying right in the heart of Paris, in the shadow of the
majestic Cathedral, Notre Dame! We were in walking distance of all
the great sights and the metro. Our first stop was the famous
Berthillon icecreamery. We then enjoyed the fabulous tastes on offer
at the local boulangerie and fromagerie, just downstairs from our
apartment. The apartment arrangements ensured that we received the
key and detailed information about the apartment as well as helpful
travellers advice before arrival. Our stay was very comfortable - we
had kitchen and laundry facilities and a quiet ambience (requested of
us as guests in the apartment block). The apartment while small, was
full of character and the district was unspoiled in its architectural
beauty. Our 10-day stay was sensational! Our children, then aged 11
and 7 could not wait to get back from a visit to Paris Disney to
experience the much more intriguing "real" sights of the tower of
Notre Dame or the catacombs of Paris. We can't wait to come back!
