      Excellent value in favorite arrondisement

Left on 04/04/2011 for a stay in March 2011

There were actually three adults who stayed for a week in late March: married couple with one best friend (male), who slept well (at 6'6" and about 235 lbs.) on the pullout sofa bed. It was comfortable, if just a tad cozy. Obviously an older building but the apt. itself was modern. We were all able to relax after long day sightseeing, enjoy dinner at home, and get rested for next day's adventures. Double bed quite good. Bathroom clean and modern, shower a delight especially for tall guy. Environment was extremely quiet and restful. The two flights of stairs were not a problem, just take it slow if tired and with luggage first day. Felt secure with three keypads to go through.
The kitchen was well-appointed, although it lacked drinking glasses (wine glasses, mugs only). Everything worked, household items in good condition. Plenty of food stores, restos, cafes around corner. Most convenient for connecting all over Paris and Ile de France. Laundry room (washer, dryer) next door a big plus. Manager was available if problems arose (none did). He popped in to say hello, which was nice.
No unpleasant surprises, only happy memories! For what we paid, it had everything necessary for a good night's sleep, eating light, basic laundry and a place to call home.
Our second VIP rental, certainly not the last.

      Great Paris Home Base!

Left on 12/20/2010 for a stay in October 2010

This apartment was an excellent home base for our 5 days in Paris. It was an easy walk to nearby shops, restaurants and cafes. Also convenient to public transportation (Metro and bus), and within walking distance of several major Paris attractions. It was comfortable, quite well equipped, and in an inner courtyard so away from street noise. (We occasionally heard the people in the apt above us.) We would definitely book it again.

      Real Paris

Left on 08/02/2010 for a stay in May 2008

We heard only french spoken in our building. We were just around the corner from the Lecole Militaire - 5 minutes walk from la Tour Eiffel . The bouf bourguignon at the Café Tour was as authentic as I've had - three blocks away. La Rue Claire was just around the corner. What was there not to like for an old but adventurous couple. The apt. is really for two, maybe a couple of kids if they were well sedated.

      Fun hideaway in Paris

Left on 10/13/2009 for a stay in September 2009

This small one bedroom apartment has everything you need to make your stay in Paris comfortable. Situated in a great neighborhood, you can quickly get anywhere in Paris via metro. Neighborhood shops, including the famous Rue Cler markets make a relaxing morning "at home" the perfect way to start a busy day of sightseeing.

Getting through the several doors and up the winding stairs adds to the fun. But pack light as it is two tight flights up. The kitchen is very well stocked, the bed is comfortable, the shower lovely and what more could you ask for? Wireless? Yes! TV? Yes as well. And free calls to the States to tell your friends and family how much fun you are having in Paris.

      Rue Cler Delight Indeed!

Left on 09/17/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We have booked apartments with Vacation in Paris 3 times (2004, 2006, & 2009). We always have found the service outstanding.

The Apt. #181 was wonderful. It was our first stay in the Rue Cler neighborhood. Great little cafes and market.

The apartment was a delight. It had been modernized-great kitchen and bathroom.
Walk in shower was the best. The washer and dryer--a stack American style were the best we've had--not just a combo small waher/dryer you usually find. Very helpful it getting our laundry clean after 5 days in Venice.
The flat screen TV had English channels-BBC, CNN etc. Also the instructions for all the applicance were great. Also nice that we had free calls home to the States. The bed was wonderfu-the pillows though were "flat" definitely need new pillows!
The sofa could have been more comfortable and it would have been nice to have a foot stool.

All in all an excellent choice and one we would love to come home to on our next trip to Paris.

Fabulous Stay in Rue Clere Delight

Left on 07/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009

This was truly a delightful apartment! There were three of us (with one teenager) and the size of the apartment was just perfect. It's also off on a side street, so it was very quiet. The view from the windows are into a court - so not much to see - but hey, it's Paris so you really don't stay in the apartment for that long. All the amenities were there including a fully stocked kitchen (plates, pots n pans, etc.) - not to mention a bottle of wine upon arrival. Beautful bathroom and shower (relatively large for Paris standards) and a washer/dryer located in a room in the hallway (and worked perfectly). The location is excellent - a short walk to the Metro station, a Marche (supermarket) around the corner and several restaurants close by. There was even a taxi stand a two minute walk from the apartment - which worked out perfectly when we needed a cab to take us to the airport. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this apartment again.

BTW - The rental agency (Vacation in Paris) were top notch. They were extremely helpful with our selections, the booking experience and the followup. AS with the apartment, I would also highly recommend their services.

      Location is perfect!

Left on 07/03/2009 for a stay in June 2009

This apartment is ideally situated. It is a block from the nearest Metro station, a 10-minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and a 10-minute walk to Rue Cler (an amazing pedestrian street with fruit and vegetable vendors, bakeries, pastry shops, butchers, prepared foods, and restaurants). The apartment has a washer and dryer, but we chose to use the commercial laundramat just 1/2 block away. The laundramat was spotless, the machines new and it took about 1/2 the time the smaller washer and dryer at the apartment would have taken. The prices were reasonable and there were instructions in English. The apartment, itself, was quite comfortable. The kitchen was well set up with a very large counter. The bath was quite nice. The only improvement we could suggest is some better pillows! We truly enjoyed being able to have our breakfast in the apartment, rather than having to go out every day. We highly recommend this apartment.

      Back Stairs Quarters

Left on 05/22/2009 for a stay in May 2008

This was a highly utilitarian apartment near Rue Claire and the ?cole Militaire. It was clean and had a good bed and well equiped kitchen and eating area for two. Typical of an apartment block in Paris, there is an outer ring of apartments which front the street; then there is an inner set of buildings in which this apartment was located. It felt a great deal like a maids quarters which it probably had been. It could be used by three adults or 2 adults and two children but four adults would be tight. I would rent it again.

      Absolutely wonderful

Left on 05/21/2009 for a stay in December 2007

We stayed in this gorgeous little appartment for one week just before Christmas. We celebrated our anniversary in Paris, before moving on to London to be with family. It was quaint with typical French architecture. We walked across the courtyard to get to wooden stairs and up to the first floor. Small windows overlook another courtyard. We couldn't have had a better experience. We adored it. The apartment was warm and cozy, so inviting as it was very cold outside.

It was close to everything. We walked to the Eiffel Tower and the D'Orsay and had many walks along the picturesque Seine just to soak up the atmosphere and look at everything. The metro is just around the corner to take you anywhere you want to go. And buses run along the Seine and to view lights of Champ's Elysees at night. What a magnificent city, such great architecture wherever you look.

This apartment is an old block but has been renovated to a modern style inside. It had the best shower and very comfortable bed. Small but adequate kitchen but we mainly preferred to frequent the wonderful French cafe's. It is small but more than adequate for two people. Four people would be a bit cozy with two people sleeping in the lounge area.

It is just a short walk to the Rue Cler Markets to get delicious fresh French produce. My husband would go down every morning to get fresh croissants and bread from the bakery. It was a magnificent visit to Paris and the apartment added to our experience.

We were concerned when the keys hadn't arrived one week before departure as advised. We contacted them, they got straight back to us and were very reassuring and stated that another set would be availabe for pick up in Paris and gave us instructions in the event that they did not arrive but were confident that they would. The keys arrived 2 days later and we were very relieved.

Instructions of how to get there and access were easy to follow. There were two security systems in the building.
