Rue Cler is a true " VILLAGE ATMOSPHERE" within Paris, with so many fruit/vegetable/food stands, which are supplied directly from the farmers in the countryside. You will stroll this cobblestone pedestrian street along with all the French shoppers, with your basket in hand to collect all the freshest produce and goodies you desire! Manhattan, KansasQuiet and air-Conditioned
Left on 07/09/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This was a very quiet interior courtyard apartment. I enjoyed the scented tree in the courtyard. The location was perfect--close the only Carrefours in Paris, health food stores, Japanese restaurant, chocolate and tea (Damman) shop, as well as Rue Cler, for great food and produce. It's a small walk-up (3rd floor), but it has an excellent location and this is such a good rental service. Vacation in Paris is the best!

San DiegoNice apt, but just too small
Left on 04/21/2012 for a stay in April 2012
Pros: Apt was really very nice - seemed to be newly painted and furnished. Great location close to markets, ATM, laundromat, Rue Cler, Eiffel Tower. Great size fridge, surprising amount of storage. Lots of thought put into the decor and what to include in the apt. Couch was very comfortable, as were the beds in the bedroom. Booking with VIP was excellent.
Cons: We knew it was small, and it wasn't really the overall size that didn't work for us. More it was the tiny things in the apt. The sink in the bathroom was just unworkable - it was so narrow and small that you couldn't wash your face or spit out your toothpaste without missing the sink. There were only four of everything (forks, glasses, etc), which sometimes made meals difficult. The upstairs neighbors were very noisy late at night most of the nights we were there, and one night someone smoked in the stairwell on a lower floor which came flooding into the apt. We had to put a towel at the door to try to keep the smell out. Lastly, the extra closet area where the laundry machine is, and where you are told to store your luggage was filled with other things, so we could do neither.
While we loved the look of the apt and the location, I would have a hard time recommending this apt, even someone traveling solo. -

Bethesda, MDSmall, But Efficient Paris apartment- Rue Cler
Left on 10/04/2010 for a stay in September 2010
My husband and I stayed here for a week in September 2010. Although the apartment was very small (the king-sized bed nearly filled the entire bedroom), the apartment had all the requisite amenities in an efficiently set up capacity (sofa for relaxing/convertible to extra bed, kitchen, washer/dryer, bathroom with shower, wi-fi, tv) and felt very secure. Unless you have a small child; however, I would not recommend it for more than two people due to its small size. For the two of us, overall, it was fine.
The apartment is also on the fourth floor (third floor by French counting), and there is no elevator so be prepared to carry your suitcases and purchases up these flights. What was great about the place was the location which was near the Ecole Militaire metro stop and the Eiffel Tower and therefore was very convenient to the daily morning Rue Cler market for produce, Carrefour for general food shopping needs, access to activities, etc. Since we’ve been to Paris a number of times before, we spent the week we were here walking around the Marais (check out Chez Hanna at Rue des Rosiers if you like inexpensive/tasty and very filling falafels for 5-6 Euros), visiting the impressionist paintings at the Musee d’Orsay, perusing all the wonderful fabric among five floors at Marche St. Pierre and hiking up to Sacre Coeur/Place du Tertre (eat at the Consultat down the street from Place du Tertre for a decent, reasonably-priced French meal).
Although other reviewers have commented on how quiet it is here, we found while there is no street noise we could hear every word and every noise made including heavy footsteps and talking from travelers staying in the other rental apartment immediately below this unit and all-day remodeling construction noise (drilling/hammering/lead-foot walking/music) from the apartment immediately above this unit.
On top of all this, we hope you will not experience what we did this one woman’s grating voice who apparently was unable to stop talking loudly and even shouting from time-to-time on one day when we stayed in the unit because my husband wasn’t feeling well. Ironically, the instructions for the unit explicitly stated that renters themselves should be respectful of others in terms of keeping down any noise.
The bottom line is that if noise does not bother you, this is a great place to stay in the heart of Paris. I said below I would recommend this unit to a friend provided they are fine with hearing noise based on the other positives. For many people, this is not an issue when you get to stay in Paris. -

Why stay in a hotel when you can have a full kitchen plus washer and dryer for a great price? Groceries and bakeries were just around the corner -- we loved it! The apartment was a bit crowded for a family of four, but it was a fantastic stay!

Rochester, MinnesotaEruptess Interruptus - the volcano got us!
Left on 05/04/2010 for a stay in April 2010
First of all, renting from Vacations in Paris (VIP) was a VERY good experience. The apartment was represented very accurately. We received our keys before we left home and the directions on how to find and get into the apartment was very easy to understand. We went right there and got right in! The location was perfect. Close walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalades. The metro was right around the corner and Rue Cler with it's wonderful shops and cafe's was on our daily stop list. The neighborhood felt very safe and easy to get around.
Our short stay of three nights turned into 8 nights because of the volcano situation. This is where we cannot say enough kind words about how we were treated by VIP. The local manager called US first to see if we were "stuck" and how this was impacting our travel plans. He reassured us that we would not be out on the street and they would help us find a place to stay. When we were able to contact VIP in the states (wonderful that the apt. had wifi and we had a "smart phone") via e-mail and also by phone call they were so helpful and reassuring. They told us they would see if we could just stay in our current apt. location, or they would figure out what would be open at another location in Paris. So we were able to just go about our days without having to scramble to find other accommodation. As it turned out we were able to stay in Rue Cler Delight #155 an additional 5 nights. At which time we were able to catch our rebooked flight out.
The apt. is cozy, very light filled, bed was VERY comfortable. Everything was in good working order. It is VERY quiet. If you want a view... there is none. You look into another building across a small courtyard. More than being pleased with our little Paris apartment, we were amazed and grateful for the wonderful customer service we received from VIP! We highly recommend their service. -

We, a family of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed a week in the appartment, most enjoyable!
The appartment is small but very well equiped. the location is perfect for us - close to metro, walk to Eiffel tower, wonderful rue Cler close by.....
We found the area very safe, even walk around at night. Highly recommended!
(There is no lift to the appartment, so perhaps not suitable for elderly, or very young kids) -

This apart is on the 3rd floor (4th floor for us American). No elevator. There is a King size bed, very comfortable. The apart is quiet; you do not hear the noise in the street which is very good for Paris (and almost rare). This is a very well located place, 7 minutes walk for the Eifel Tower (and Champs de Mars), 5 minutes from les Invalides. Also this area 7e arrondissement is very French, not a lot of tourist compare to Champs Elysees or other area. Good restaurant 10-15 minutes walk. Groceries shopping around the corner. You have the metro station very close by. It was clean.
With our 8 year old son, we really enjoy our stay, very french, clean and clear. We will go back to the same apart, we really liked it.
This is a nice way to experience parisien life.
Have a nice trip and enjoy Paris.

Surrey, B.C.Perfect little Paris home
Left on 06/04/2009 for a stay in August 2007
Four of us shared this very nice little apartment for a 10-day period. The unit, recently renovated, was fresh and clean. The beds were of excellent quality and linens good. Windows in each room allowed for fresh air and sunshine. The kitchen contained all necessary for our daily food preparation---with groceries and goodies bought in the neighbourhood's fine shops. The washer and dryer were a bonus and used often. The building was quiet, on a residential street, on foot 1 minute from the Ecole Militaire metro, 3 from Champs de Mars/Eiffel Tower or Rue Cler, 5 to Les Invalides, and 20 -30 mins. to Les Tuileries, Le Louvre, Concorde and les Champs-Elysees. On our next visit to Paris we will hopefully rent this same apartment or its twin on the floor below. Our adult grandson, who stayed at "Delight" with us, has since rented a studio with the company and was happy with it, too. We made all arrangements with Vacation in Paris in America by phone and staff were polite and helpful. In Paris we had occasion to meet their representative Morgan who was prompt and courteous in replying to an inquiry. We highly recommend the services of Vacation in Paris and "Bon Sejour"!

We spent 4 lovely days in Paris on our way to the South of France. The apartment had everything we needed, was clean and in good repair. It was close to shopping and the Metro stop was just around the corner. It was perfect for two people and would be a little tight with 4. The bathroon was quite small but adequate.
