255060Great location!
Left on 05/05/2012 for a stay in April 2012
On entering this apartment, we were amazed at the art works and books on display giving the apartment a lot of character. The housekeeper was very helpful and obliging. We made good use of the free wifi as we were continuing our travels. The supermarket Monoprix was close by so we often made our own meals, though we did eat well at the restaurant on the nearest corner and used the local deli. Great to be so close to the Seine!
On the downside, the bathroom doorknob came off in our hands so we had trouble keeping the door closed. Booking the apartment was quite an ordeal as you have to exchange contracts and take out home insurance in spite of having a damage deposit.Response from Paris Be A Part Of It - 05/09/2012
Manager
Hello Sue,
Thanks for your detailed feedback, be sure that the doorknob is fixed.
We know The safe booking steps requests few days of follow up for all of us but we do need to do so in order to make sure you are (the owner as well) all covered by contracts.
We are glad the apartment suit you and that your stay in the city of lights was great.
Have a great day, and hope to see you very soon :)

39604Did not meet expectations
Left on 02/05/2012 for a stay in June 2011
Although another reviewer mentioned traveling with children, we were peremptorily told we could not check in when my daughter-in-law showed up with my 4 year old and 9 year old grandchildren (fully disclosed on the lease). The “maid” got back in touch with the owner, and that edict was revoked, but it was an inauspicious start to our 5 days in this property. Overall, the furnishings are considerably more dingy than the excellent on-line photos. The “maid” tried very hard to resolve other issues, and was apologetic about those below that could not be fixed. She is a Keeper. The location is absolutely ideal. The area is lively and can be a little loud, but that is not all bad.
We had seen on-line that the tub was being fixed, and we made sure the manager confirmed that to be the case. However, it wasn’t. There was actually no shower, just a hand-held spray and the diverter was malfunctioning (even after a “repair”). When the water is turned on, the nozzle blows off, and water sprays everywhere. You can manage this if you are carefully to hold down the lever as you turn up the water. Plus, the water drains down the back of the tub from the nozzle onto the floor. Since the owner nicely provides orange "sham wows" to soak up the water, it is apparent that this is an idiosyncrasy any guest can expect to live with.
The tub is cracking, the drain has mildew buildup, the curtain over the window has mildew spots, and so does the shower curtain.
Lights were out in the “tub room” which we were told was due to electrical issues needing rewiring—kind of daunting for a bathroom.
The lift did not work reliably, and worst of all it would work sometimes which meant that you could get stuck in it when the 3 flights just looked to be too much.
The “amenities” list a “washer “ and a “dryer”, but these are in fact a combo “washer/dryer” and it will only wash—it would not dry but there was a gargantuan drying rack (one wonders why??) that was found in the closet.
Be advised that there is no telephone.
The release buzzer for someone at the door did not work, so down three flights whenever there was a visitor, after yelling out the window.
The toilet smelled faintly of urine.
Two floor lamps had exposed wires in the electrical cords, which we unplugged to prevent any shorts.
We would not stay there again.Response from Paris Be A Part Of It - 02/13/2012
Manager
Hello,
thank you for your detailed feedback.
As you mentionned it (i guess you saw the new pictures the bathroom has been completly renovated including the shower head, the tub itself etc).
we don't understand what happened when you checked in with the kids because of course of they were listed on the contract and if the number of guests fit the occupancy there's no reason to refuse a check in.
We will look into this and will make sure the info are always transfered to the correct person.
As well as the temporary elevator/buzzer issue, as since several years we never had any feedback on such problems (and we email our guests after each departure) we are really sorry about this and will check with the owner if problems occured last summer.
Regards,
PBPI's team.

Sydney, AustraliaA fantastic, inspiring experience for our first visit to Paris

The apartment is exactly as it appears in the information provided; well organised, welcoming and supremely located. We were easily able to walk to the Metro, Musee D'Orsay, Musee Louvre. Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, markets, and all the local arrondisments. We could choose to eat out or self cater. The agency (Paris-be-a-part-of-it) and the owner were very helpful and reliable.

Brisbane, AustraliaBest located apartment in Paris
Left on 01/12/2011 for a stay in December 2010
This Rue Verneuil apartment must be the best located and best value apartment in Paris. Just 50m from the Seine, 100m from the Musee D'Orsay, 200m from the Louvre and about 15 minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower, there is no need to even catch public transport in Paris.
The rooms were very spacious and more than enough room for a family. The apartment was superbly furnished with Madam Cirelli's collection of art and literature, and hot water and comfy beds were very welcome.
We were a little disappointed in the washing machine/dryer, which worked occassionally, having travelled for a month, we were very keen to use these appliances. The shower/bath also needs a little bit of work, but I believe this is being attended to.
The apartment was close to a grocery store, fruit shop, deli (serving fantastic home cooked delights), a bakery and some restaurants.
We couldn't recommend Rue Verneuil highly enough, and have already recommended it to a number of friends in the past week.
