Additional Location Information
The 8th arrondissement is the home of many of Paris' best known and most prestigious sites, stores, hotels and restaurants. Right next door to the "MALESHERBES-MONCEAU" apartment, you will find the Camondo Museum for decorative arts. Before it became a Museum this "Hotel Particulier", or private mansion, was the residence of the very wealthy and influential Camondo family.
Upon strolling down Avenue Malesherbes, you will soon come upon the famous Madeleine Church, Rue Royale, and Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré, known for its high-end fashion. The stores of Yves St. Laurent, Dior, Gucci, Hermes, Ferragamo and others can be found in this upscale neighborhood.
On rue Royale, stop by Maxim's restaurant for brunch or a quick coffee, and you will quickly understand what Parisian Art Nouveau is all about. This neighborhood also puts you in close proximity to the Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Gardens, the famous Champs Elysées, and the Louvre Museum.
The "MALESHERBES-MONCEAU" apartment affords easy access to many modes of transportation. There are numerous Metro stops nearby in addition to bus lines and taxi stands. The apartment is also near "Le Marché de Levy," one of the 10 best markets in Paris.
North of the apartment you will find the Pigalle district, the Moulin Rouge, some great restaurants, cafés, galleries, and of course, Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur--which provide a stunning view of the city. This part of town inspired the work of artists including Picasso, Renoir, Monet, Manet, Toulouse Lautrec, Juan Gris, Jean Cocteau, Jean Marais, and others. The hit film "Amelie" was shot in Montmartre, and it is common to see French and foreign film crews at work in this neighborhood.

St. Louis, MOWonderful apartment! Second Visit! Would Return and Highly Recom
Left on 11/07/2012 for a stay in November 2012
Just returned from our second stay in this delightful apartment.
Convenient location between St. Augustin and Europe Metro stops, within blocks of multiple brasseries, Monoprix (grocery store), and pharmacies. The area is quiet at night and well lit.
Hfr staff was exceptional as always, meeting us at the apartment upon our arrival and arranging transportation upon departure. Price and payment process is easy, transparent, and secure.
The apartment itself is on the top floor (5th) of the building and can be accessed by a beautiful antique elevator or marble staircase. A property manager for the building lives on the ground floor and is there in case of lock-outs or other emergencies.
Furnishings in the apartment are very nice, comfortable, and complement the architecture of the rooms. Two great balconies overlook the street where you can have your morning coffee and there is a view of the top of the Eiffel Tower from the kitchen window.
Dishwasher and laundry machines are in the kitchen and work well. Beds are comfortable and water pressure / temperature control in showers is excellent.
I would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting Paris, whether a first-time or regular tourist. The convenience, beauty, and level of comfort of this apartment have been thoroughly enjoyed by us (two couples) on both of our visits.
Thanks to HFR for another great stay!!

Nice place centrally located. Need to have a better understanding of facilities in the apartment. Indicated 2 + bathrooms really only 1 as there is only one toilet in a separate room and two rooms with shower/tub and sinks.

Berlin, GermanyTypical Parisian appartment for a relaxing and sightseeing trip
Left on 04/06/2011 for a stay in January 2011
I really enjoy staying in this appartment in January 2011. This is a very cosy and comfortable appartment in one of the best part of Paris. I could jogg in Parc Monceau just next door. The appartment as very high selling and a nice reception which makes it very pleasanr with balcony as well. I would recommend the place for the location next to the biggest department stores and very central and for the typical parisian atmosphere of this appartment.

My husband and I had a magical vacation in Paris, and we are very glad that we chose to stay in an apartment, rather than a hotel. The apartment in Malesherbes was in a lovely neighborhood, close to the Metro and to various markets. However, the apartment itself left us with mixed feelings. It was very spacious, with a lovely marble fireplace and stunning sculpted ceilings throughout. It could have been gorgeous, if not for all the clutter. Magazines and trinkets were piled everywhere! We moved most of it into the spare bedroom and felt a lot better. There was not much closet or drawer space for our clothes, and the wall-to-wall carpet was in terrible condition, really filthy. The carpet has since been replaced with hardwood floors, so I imagine it looks much better now. The shower always had plenty of hot water, which was a plus to our tired muscles at the end of a long day of sightseeing. Bernard was excellent at helping us manage our stay at Malesherbes, and we are grateful to him. However, a booklet explaining the features of the apartment (such as the television system and the European-style washer/dryer) would have been very helpful. All appliances were state of the art, but their mechanisms were unfamiliar to us. On the whole, we loved our stay in Paris, but we feel that the apartment needs greater organization to make room for visitors.

Left on 08/01/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We had to delay our arrival to Paris one full day because the appartment was still occupied by previous guests on our reserved arrival date; After 11 hours fligth to Paris we had to wait 20 minutes in the street to get the appartment keys, no one was there; Appartment was not clean; No room for clothing in closets or space for personal stuff in the bathroom, water in bathtub did not drain; refrigerator with leftovers; no lights in the toilet room.
