Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in March 2013
My wife and I stayed here for 10 days and would definitely stay here again when we go back. It is supper clean and has everything someone would need. The decor is fantastic, we felt like real Parisians!
It is only 3 blocks from the Hotel de Ville subway stop, which we used daily, in a very nice area. We ate at 2 excellent (and highly rated) restaurants both within 2 blocks, one was directly across the street. -

A cozy, clean, quiet, beautiful and functional apartment in a prime location. It is a corner apartment with lots of windows and gets lots of light. Within walking distance of many (actually most) great attractions including the Marais itself. Perfect for a couple to use as home base to explore Paris.
Getting to the apartment from CDG was very easy. We took the RER and then the metro. Instructions on how to do this were sent to us by the owner, Julien. The only challenge on using the train/metro is the number and steepness of stairs. We had one more bag than we could carry on a single trip down or up the stairs but managed with help from some friendly locals who took pity on our obvious Jet-lag induced lack of coordination. In a similar vein…. the apartment itself is on the 4th floor with a somewhat narrow staircase (narrow when carrying your luggage) and no elevators. We actually came to appreciate that climb after all the great Parisian meals we had!! So the 4 flights of stairs was a good thing…but not necessarily when you first arrive with your luggage and your jet-lag. We are not terribly fit and the stair-climb was absolutely fine i.e. it is not a big deal… just be prepared.
The Kitchen is compact but well equipped and both the washer/dryer and the dishwasher work well but both are small by Na standards…wasn’t an issue. The bathroom is also small but has everything including a towel warmer ( I want one for my home) a stall shower with lots of hot water (very hot so watch out the first time you use the water). The bedroom has a comfy King bed and has lots of storage space. The Wi-Fi works great and we Skyped friends and family with no problems. The TV (we didn’t use it much) is great (there are 3 English news channels available) and there are some Dvds if you run out of things to see and do in Paris.
Julien is a great owner and is fluent in English. He was responsive to my pre-trip concerns and helpful during our stay. The apartment is supplied with guides and maps and already has the basic necessities. A quick top-up from a neighbourhood market quickly turned the rental into "home".
Highly recommended and would stay there again in a heartbeat -

We would definitely stay here again. The apartment is a great size for Paris. (I think it would be way too cramped with two couples. Seems good sized for one couple.) I stayed here with my husband on leg one of our honeymoon. It was the perfect location, tons of things to walk to, you can see the George Pompidou center from the window and the best restaurant we ate at happened to be right around the corner: Pain, Vin, Fromage. If you love bread, wine and cheese, you must check this place out! If something was too far away for walking (Eiffel Tower, Sacre Couer) there is a main metro hub in walking distance from the apartment so you can get pretty much anywhere you want with minimal line transfers. Julien was a very accommodating host, and this place beat the pants off of staying at a hotel. We stayed for a week and it was fun pretending that we actually lived in the city. :) One day, we actually will! But until then, this will be our go-to accommodation.

Framingham, MALiveable, comfortable, great location
Left on 10/29/2012 for a stay in October 2012
First, location. You can walk from avenue des Blancs Manteaux to anywhere in the heart of Paris. It's five minutes to the Hotel de Ville, fifteen minutes to the Louvre and the Tuileries. And we liked to walk across the Ile de la Cite, over to the Left Bank, and to the Luxembourg gardens. And the Beaubourg is a short block away, with its wonderful Niki de Saint Phalle/ Jean Tinguely fountain. In the other direction you're five minutes from the Musee Carnevalet and maybe ten minutes from the Place des Vogues, the oldest and loveliest of squares. Living here, you'll walk to much of your sightseeing.
The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped, small but efficient, including a strange little washing machine that also dries your clothes (if you give it long enough). Our stay of two weeks was completely convenient. The bed is big and comfortable, the apartment is quiet (double paned glass and high enough above street) and very light. There's an excellent TV and DVR system: bring your movies from home. There's even an espresso machine (that loads like a little canon).
Finally, Julien himself is organized and efficient. The TV/DVD wasn't working right and he fixed it the next day. This apartment is his "baby" and he takes really good care of it. His English is excellent, and he's a friendly young man with a young family. He made sure to call a cab for us. He can always be reached in case of any problems.
Do be aware that the apartment is on the 5th floor (4th in France), so pack accordingly and stay in shape. The stairway had one non-working light when we were there, but the building seems quite safe and is always kept locked. It's not the top floor, so expect to hear some faint foot traffic upstairs if there's anyone there. (One of our two weeks there wasn't.) Subway is close, when you need it. Also Les Halles Chatelet if you need the RER. Neighborhood seems safe and nice to walk around at night. (Rue des Rosiers with its varied foods is 3 minutes away.) -

Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Stayed in the lovely apartment in august/September 2012 and it can only be described as fantastic! All the rooms are well furnished and stylish, everything is clean and fresh, everything works and despite being in a brilliant location in the heart of the beautiful Marais it is really quiet and safe.
Yes it is on the fourth floor, and yes, there is no lift! It didn't matter to us to be honest and I am one of the least fit laziest people in the world! Because of its location the apartment was great for site-seeing. With the exception of going up to Montmartre, we walked everywhere. Eiffel Tower about half an hour's walk along the Seine. Notre Dame, St Germain, Pompidou, Louvre, D'Orsay, Bastille, Place des Vosges all within very easy walking distance.
Julien, the owner, was delightful. Very friendly and helpful. The wifi in the apartment was free and fast and if you don't have your own internet access gadget there is a PC provided for guests' use!
Kitchen was well equipped and there is plenty of wardrobe space.
Bed very comfy and my son who is a 6' teenager had no problems on the sofa bed.
If we go back to Paris, we'd definitely stay here again!!!
Highly recommended, we had a fabulous few days in Paris.

We are a family of four people with two little kids and this was our first time in Paris. This apartment was a perfect place to stay in.
Julien was the perfect host with wonderful hospitality. He was very helpful with explanations on Paris and even gave us detailed map of Paris after he marked the important areas for us to see.
Not only that the apartment is located in a great location, but it also very beautiful. One can feel that Julien gave it a lot of thoughts when he designed and decorated it.
We definitely will come back to Julien's apartment in our next visit in Paris. -

We are a family of four with two older children(10 and 15 yrs) and this flat was a perfect place to stay for our first time in Paris! It was very clean and looked just like the photos. The bedroom is gorgeous with big tall windows and a beamed ceiling. Although small, we never felt crowded. The area is a busy, fun part of the city where everyone recommends staying when visiting Paris. We could walk to Notre Dame, The Seine, Hotel de Ville, The Latin Quarter, multiple Metro stations and even The Louvre! There are so many restaurants nearby and we happened upon some great ones! Shopping is excellent too with several vintage stores as well as boutiques.
Julien was prompt and professional and paid attention to all the details. -

I went to Paris to spend a few days with three friends and the apartment was exactly what we were looking for: great location, comfortable bed and sofa, and very well-appointed. It is a perfect place for two people but if you are not very fussy with space, four adults can be a few days and don't feel cramped. The area is also fantastic and you can move very easily to all the main areas of Paris. I would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I stayed for 3 weeks in this comfortable apartment in January 2012. It was tastefully furnished, very clean, and had all the creature comforts to make for a really great stay (e.g. dishwasher, sound system, DVD player, wifi, espresso coffee machine and small library of tourist guides). The apartment is centrally located, close to shops, museums and the metro. Being winter, we were pleased to find it well heated. It is a really ideal base for a visit to Paris. Julien, the owner, is welcoming and helpful. We have no hesitation at all, in recommending this accommodation.

Had a great time when we stayed at this apartment. Very conveniently located for all major attractions. We were able to walk everywhere without the need to use the Metro. The property is very well furnished, with thoughtful touches like provision of electric travel adaptors. Check-in and check-out was very easy. We stayed with our 4 year old daughter with no problems. The apartment is onthe 4th floor without a lift which might be an issue for some.

My wife and I and our 2 year old son stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday and had a great time. The apartment is well appointed with amenities and very comfortable. The location is great and we were able to walk almost everywhere from here including Centre Pompidou, Musée du Louvre, Cathedral of Notre-Dame and even as far as Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe, and the shopping district on Blvd Haussmann and Rue Saint-Honoree. The apartment is close to several Metro lines so you can get to further locations quickly. The Metro to Disneyland Paris is a quick 10 minute walk away at Metro Les Halles. Julien was very responsive before and during our stay. I would highly recommend this apartment for your stay in Paris.

Just wanted to let everyone know how great our stay was staying in this apartment. My partner and I wanted a great location which it offers, enough space to spend 5 days in Paris without feeling cramped and amenities to make a stay as comfortable as possible. Julien did a great job with this apartment and anyone looking for a perfect Paris experience should give it a try. There are plenty of food shops and restaurants within 5-10 min. walk to meet your needs. You can easily walk to some of the most interesting sites in Paris or if you prefer like we did, use Velib, the bicycle for hire service in Paris which is very similar to the one we have in Montreal. You can also move around easily by Metro with Metro stations within a few minutes walk or if you walk to Chatelet-Les Halles (5min) to access most lines, RER, etc.
As we mentioned to Julien, we will encourage our friends to use his apartment and we will for sure rent it again next time we are in Paris. -

Renting this apartment was a terrific idea. Julien, the owner, was welcoming, thoughtful and completely fluent in English. The apartment was so cosy, clean and felt like home. Great to return at the end of a busy day. The beds were amazingly comfortable--very unusual for a sofa bed.
It is a 4th floor walk up but well worth it. The neighborhood was wonderful--full of stores and cafes and convenient walking distance to many famous places. We loved it and highly recommend this apartment! -

Left on 10/19/2011 for a stay in August 2011
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week. This flat is ideal for a week in a Paris if you're an adventurous person who is willing to use the Velo bicycles and enjoy discovering a city on your own rather than through a concierge. The four story walk up is a bit of a struggle with luggage, but it is otherwise nothing to speak of if you're in reasonable shape. The inside of the apartment is amazing. It is compact, but very well laid out so you always feel comfortable. We only had two people, but you could relatively comfortably do three maybe even four (there's a couch bed) if you were a group of friends. I wouldn't say that two couple would want to try this, but an easy going foursome could give it a shot. On the whole the flat was fantastic. Julien, the owner, has an excellent attention to detail and he is very responsive, accommodating and honest.

Our 1 month stay in Julien's condo was superb. On our arrival he provided an excellent overview of the city, and a great orientation of his condo located in the Marais. His condo was centrally located and made it easy to access all the wonderful sights Paris has to offer. We were also greeted with a wonderful bottle of wine on our arrival. His designer decorated apartment was well equipped and made us feel right at home. Julien is extremely attentive, and even took the time during our stay to call us to ensure we were making out OK. We have stayed at many vacation rentals around the world and rate Julien's accommodation as one of our best experiences, and would highly recommend his place to anyone visiting this charming City. Should our travels ever bring us back to Paris, we would definitely want to stay here again. Thank you Julien for your kind and generous hospitality.

My wife and I spent two weeks in this lovely and comfortable apartment. It was airy and light with six windows overlooking a corner in the Marais/Beaubourg district. One of the three bedroom windows looked directly at the Pompidou Museum of art which always made it easy to find our way back home after a day of exploring Paris. It was very convenient to many shops, museums and sites. Julian was helpful and hospitable with very good English. The historic building requires a climb of steep spiral stairs (charming if you can do it for 80 plus steps), but the view and light are well worth it! The renovation is very chic with a wonderful Parisian flare! We greatly enjoyed our stay in this apartment and felt that it was a wonderful Paris value.

Left on 07/22/2011 for a stay in June 2011
I thoroughly recommend this apartment. Both the apartment and the location are above-standard for the price you pay. The apartment itself looks just like the photos - it is funky, accomodating and comfortable. Everything in this apartment is usuable and there is an added bonus of having a washer and dryer! Comfy bed is also a plus!
The location is great. This apartment is situated in the heart of the Marais. There are four roads that come off the apartment. The first heads down to Centre pompidou (which definitely requires a visit). There is another road that heads to a main road, where public transport is easily accessed. The two other roads lead to lovely little brasseries, bars, shops, clubs and grocers. A spectacular location if you enjoy being in the heart of the city. Luckily, the apartment has double-glazed windows, so the sounds of the bubbling surroudings are non-existent in the apartment.
Julien is an amazing host. He meets you at arrival, shows you the ins and outs of the apartment and allows you to contact him if you require help with any of the utilities. He has also put together a lovely collection of travel guides, restaurants to venture to and dvd collection. Everything has been thought of and you really won't go without!
The apartment is secure and we had no issue while we stayed here. Loved it and will definitely be back!
A huge thank you to Julien! Loved the home-made fois gras and bottle of Champagne! -

This was our first time to Paris and the first time that we had booked an apartment over the internet for an international stay. The apartment was wonderful and looked just exactly as it did in the photographs. It was very centrally located right in the heart of the Marais district. Julien met us at the apartment and checked us in. He helped us with our luggage up the stairs and gave us not only an introduction to the apartment but also to the Marais district and Paris. It was a great local perspective. The apartment was fantastic, it was a home away from home and we appreciated the special little touches of things like olive oil, sugar, salt, pepper, tea and nice coffee, which made cooking that much easier. Supermarkets were close by (2-5 minutes walk depending on which one you wanted) and the train station was only 2 minutes walk away. We really loved the Marais district with lots of activity on the weekend, although in the apartment it was very quiet thanks to the double galzed windows. We really enjoyed this apartment and the Marais district, when we return to Paris we will be definatley staying here again. Thanks for a wonderful stay Julien

The location was absolutely perfect, being close to cafes, restaurants, markets and shops enabling us to experience the true Parisian lifestyle, but also within very easy access to all the major Paris attractions (we walked everywhere!).

Left on 06/23/2011 for a stay in June 2011
The apartment was newly re-modeled, modern, all the amenities we needed and more. Computer and wi-fi, electronics galore, small but well laid out and equiped kitchen, and comfortable beds. Julien has obviously put a lot of thought and effort into this apartment to make it the kind of place in which he would like to live!
The location in le Marais was central and full of local street life. Metro stops only a few minutes away.
The only complaint we had concerned noise on certain nights. There is a club in the building next door and although the flat is on the fourth floor, there was a lot of street noise to the wee small hours one Saturday night. This could probably have been fixed by closing the apartment windows, but it was a particularly warm night and there is no air conditioning. Other nights were much quieter. As I said, we loved this place and would stay there again, but its only fair to tell the truth.
And Julien was a fantastic host. Met us when we arrived as promised and was available whenever we needed him. He even dropped by one day to see how we were doing. -

If you are looking for a well furnished, convenient, quiet one bedroom and don't mind walking some stairs, this is a great place. The landlord is gracious and very helpful and you are not only 10 minutes from Notre Dame but minutes away from excellent restaurants, fresh fruit stands and great boulangeries. If you want to shop the Marais and St Honore are nearby. We used the washer and dryer following the easy directions and our daughter found the pull out couch very comfortable. The bathroom and kitchens are both recently renovated, so are modern and convenient. The next time we are in Paris we would like to go back.

The location of the apartment is brilliant. 3min walk from the metro, and nearby to some wonderful shops, patisseries, restaurants and tourist sites.
The apartment itself was everything that we could have asked for. There was more than enough space for the 2 of us, the kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfy, and having the computer there was really useful.

Although our first experience of a Paris apartment, we can only say how much we enjoyed our time here. The position in the Marais was perfect with a wide variety of food shops and restaurants very close. We loved having the corner bedroom which opened to 2 streets and the king size bed was a bonus. we also loved having a separate living area and fully functioning kitchen with laundry facilities. All furnishings were near new and in excellent condition and wifi was a bonus. Windows sealed well and made the apartment very quiet at night. A lift would have been handy (but was not expected) as the apartment is on the 4th floor, a fair climb after a day exploring Paris.

Left on 02/22/2011 for a stay in February 2011
I really enjoyed the space, appliances, and fresh air offered by the many windows overlooking the neighborhood. The location was within short walking distance (3-5 minutes) to the Rambuteau metro stop and the Rue de Rivoli(5-7 minutes) which run along the Seine river to the Louvre. The price was great for having the luxury and comfort in a more personal dwelling when compared to a hostel or hotel. By the end of the week were were calling the place home. Only had slight difficulties using the washer/dryer correctly but that was operator error (manual was in the apartment as well). There were many surprises: audio inputs for the surround sound, dishwasher, stove, microwave, ironing board, very nice pull out couch and refrigerator/freezer. I would recommend any of my friends or family considering staying for longer than a few days in Paris to look into this apartment. It was great for a small group and would be romantic for a couple as well. I even forgot you can lean out the bedroom window and see part of Notre Dame :D.

Left on 01/17/2011 for a stay in January 2011
We are a family of 2 adults and 1 child (under 2 y.o.) stayed at this apartment in early January 2011.
The apartment is very centrally located, with all sights and amenities nearby. Couple supermarkets are very close, near Pompidou Centre.
It is located on 4th(?) floor, without elevator, so keep it in mind. if you have mobility problems.
The apartment is very thoughfully decorated and furnished to business type of accomodation standards. It is not very large, but by Paris standards and the relevant price range it is fine. It has a separate bedroom, and a separate kitchen.
Julien (the owner) is a very attentive host: punctual and helpful. It was nice dealing with him.
If you are travelling with small children: please, note that there is no elevator (so you'll have to carry your pushchair up and down yourself if you have one). Julien kindly provided travel cot for a child.
Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to travellers.

Left on 11/26/2010 for a stay in November 2010
We stayed at this appartment at very short notice and Julien was very accomodating, even waiting to greet us although we had been badly delayed on our trip. The appartment is up 4 flight of stairs but it only added to our sense of being 'real' Parisians for the stay. Inside, I can only say the appartment was impeccable, enough room for the 4 of us (bearing in mind this is Paris), and everything we would expect in a 5 star appartment. Outside we were spoiled for choice within a 5 min radius - busy boulangeries crammed with people, interesting cafes, wine shops and grocery stores, a butchers and seafood shop if we felt like cooking at the appartment (the pork rillettes were great). We didn't come here for the night life, though I suspect it was a great location for this. The appartment was quiet, the interior had been recently renovated, the gare was a very short distance away as were various art galleries and we had a brilliant stay. As for value - this wins hands down for a family of 4 over a regular hotel - mind you, the location could lend itself to a much more romantic setting, sans kiddies! Merci beacoup Julien!
