South Florida, FloridaBeautiful, comfortable
Left on 03/23/2013 for a stay in March 2013
After a great deal of research, we settled on this apartment for our first visit to Paris. It was a great choice. The thing that really attracted us was the design. It is roomy, with beautiful decor. Owner Lionel [--] was very helpful at check in, and easy to contact when we needed assistance and advice. We arrange to drop our luggage off early when the apartment was being cleaned, and got to roam around Montmartre until we were ready to check in.
The bed was ultra-comfortable and roomy, the bathroom beautifully designed. Little touches abound, like a mirror on the door to the refrigerator so those on the opposite side from the flat-screen could also see the TV (though apart from watching the Simpsons dubbed into French, we weren't in Paris to watch TV).
We decided to cook in most days, and eat out for lunches (which saved a bunch of Euros). The kitchen was compact but had everything we needed for this, and there was a mini- and a full-sized Carrefour supermarket a short walk away...not to mention lots of boulangteries, fromageries, charcuteries, and the like abounding in the neighborhood, along with some charming restaurants.
There are three metro stations a quick walk away. Plan on coming in at the anvers exit on the blue line and take the funicular up the hill to Sacre-Coeur, then walk down the steps to the apartment. Your metro ticket also gets you on the funicular. The other two exits we found too crowded with too many picklpockets for comfort.
In many ways, the location was the best and the worst part of this apartment. It is at the foot of stairs leading up to the Sacre-Coeur Basilica. That church, which is exceptionallly beautiful, especially in sunlight (or at dawn or dusk) is at the top of Montmartre, which is the only hill in Paris. It provides a stunning view of the city. That view attracts people by the hundreds. Especially at sundown, it is filled with buskers, and young folks enjoying themselves. That also attracts a less than savory element. I'll let my wife describe:
The apartment was absolutely wonderful, but I came to the opinion that one can have lodgings that are too close to Sacre Couer for tourist comfort.
Sacre Couer has a big, wide set of stairs coming down from its plaza, and these stairs are a favorite Paris hangout. There were hundreds of people sitting on the stairs every time we walked up to the plaza from our apartment. It was fun. The buskers were very good. There was a happy vibe in the place.
Below the topmost stairs is a viewing balcony with the best view of Paris short of being at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Surrounding this balcony and going downwards is a grassy park with a lot of walking paths. This seems to be a favorite spot to drink, and we saw (mostly young) people lying in the grass with open beers, bottles of wine, or stronger liquors.
The apartment front entry [--] is on a set of stone stairs to the right of the Sacre Couer plaza starting at Rue Lamarck and ending at Rue Muller. Every morning when we came out the entry there were a few broken glass bottles and shards of glass on the stairs. Saturday night we could hear a lot of partying noise outside until about 5 am. Sunday morning there was what appeared to be blood splattered the entire length of our stone staircase, I think eight flights of stairs. When I combine this experience with the obnoxious string scam guys at the foot of the Sacre Couer park (http://www.corporatetravelsafety.com/safety-tips/category/pickpockets-france/tip/watch-out-for-the-infamous-paris-string-scam), my overall feeling is that I want to be staying in lodgings farther away from this area.
My final comment is that Mr. [--] has four properties in Montmartre, each with the same beautiful design, If this location concerns you, I have no doubt that any of the others would be just as lovely. And if you aren't concerned (the Sacre-Coeur apartment has excellent security, with three separate coded gates/doors to get through), being right at the church can be really lovely. -

Left on 09/30/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We had a nice stay in Paris in this appartment with 4 persons.
You need maximal 2 minutes upstairs to Sacre Coeur, and less than ten minutes to the metro, to a bakerey and to a supermarket. Although the location is central, there are no problems with noise during the night.
I really can recommend this appartment. -

Perth, AustraliaGorgeous apartment in Montmartre
Left on 09/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012
We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. It was ultra-modern, funky, spacious (we were travelling with a toddler) and, above all, tastefully presented and well-appointed. It has a small functional kitchen, and a beautiful bathroom (including a washing machine and rain shower!) It has two queen-sized beds (one is a sofa-bed) and the bedroom was able to be shut off from the living area. It was roomy enough for the three of us, and when our son got sick and was bed-ridden for a few days, we were extremely comfortable being stuck in the apartment!
It is walking distance to several convenience stores and boulangeries, and a stone's throw from the Sacre Coeur. The nearest Metro station is about a 15-20 minute walk, with a few stairs to negotiate (although you can catch the funicular). Although there are quite a few stairs to contend with to get to the apartment (and we had several pieces of luggage and a stroller), we would definitely stay here again.
Lionel was very accommodating, helpful and pleasant to deal with, although we could have done with a more detailed description of how to get into the apartment - we had the street number, but no apartment number. Never having visited Paris before, we were not familiar with apartment addresses and unsure if we had the right building (and we didn't realise the entrance gate was unlocked during the day otherwise we could have checked the names on the mailboxes).
All in all, we had a wonderful, extremely comfortable stay, and if you are willing and able to climb a few stairs, we would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. -

Perth, AustraliaGreat location and nice apartment
Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My wife and I spent a week in Paris and really enjoyed staying in the apartment. The location is excellent, and even though it is only meters away from a major tourist attraction, other surrounding streets have a nice local relaxed feel, with many options for enjoying a meal or a drink at the end of the day. The apartment was very comfortable, quiet (given that it is on a pedestrian street without car access), and had all the things one would need for a comfortable stay including wifi. The owner was very helpful in adapting to our request for an early drop-off of our luggage in the apartment as our plane arrived very early in the morning. Much apprecitated. Perhaps some written instructions on how to operate the TV etc. would be good to add to the sheet with the tips and apartment information. But Lionel was very good in responding to a query we had promptly and was very helpful. This is a great apartment and when in Paris again we would enjoy staying there again.

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This is an excellent apartment. One thing that always worries me when renting an apartment where one of the beds is a sofa bed, is the comfort level of this second bed. Sofa beds can be really lousy to sleep in, so I usually don't rent apartments if there isn't enough real beds. For this apartment this is not the case. This sofa bed has the same comfort level as an ordinary high end double bed. The main bed in the bed room had also excellent comfort.
The owner of the apartment couldn't have given us better service. He gave us excellent advises about the best restaurant, bars and shops in the area. Which saved us a lot of time and gave us information you won't find in any guidebook. -

CologneReal Paris feeling...if you have never been here you have missed
Left on 05/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012
Well for years now I stay in Paris several times each year (as a designer it belongs to your job and -as you can imagine- I really know a lot of hotels and vacancy rentals in this wonderful city...but to find more apartments as chic & well maintained as Lionel's ones...you would have to search for an incredibly long time...
I now stayed in each of those four modern apartments and I really feel at home there (I liked the Montmartre Prestige Suite the most...but be careful you have to be fit on your feet to carry all of the treasures you shopped up the hill...) and I definetely come back again...again...again...and again.
Just stayed there in May and it was this wonderful 'village in the city feeling' of Montmartre and that in the middle of spring. Lionel had several very good recommandations for new restaurants on the hill ('la balancoire'!!!), he was polite as ever. Handling was very ease (like every time), all was very clean, the shower was wonderful, even the bed (and the sofabed too!) You can have breakfast at 'Coquelicot' or you take all those delicious french food to the apartment (Rillettes, Mousse de Canard, Chevre...) to have a perfect breakfast there...and you feel so much more at home in this city as if you stay in a hotel...
We came by car and it was really easy to find a parking place even in the street (it is so amazing to drive through the illuminated Paris at night!!).
Well if you never stayed in one of those stylish apartments you definetely missed something...

Freiburg100% better than a hotel
Left on 04/01/2012 for a stay in March 2012
Considering that hotels in Paris are expensive, and rooms are usually just big enough to fit a bed, your best choice is to go to an apartment, and this one is one of the best.
The pictures speak by themselves.
The owners are really nice, they were waiting for us at the time I told them, I received an SMS just a couple of hours before arriving confirming everything, check out is easy. They were nice when I had a problem in my credit card and waited until I solved it. They are smart enough to not throw away the salt, sugar and oil left over from previous clients... nice if your stay is short.
I didn't put 5 stars in comfort just because you need to go through stairs to reach the building. I recommend the owners to specify more in the website over that point (the map marker is in the corner but the entrance is located after 1/4 of stairs), anyway I knew it from Google street view; 4 stars also because from the living room you can hear the sounds of the toilette, so if you are traveling with not-so-close-friends it could be an issue.
Anyway, I recommend this apartment because you get a lot of style and comfort for the price, space to leave luggage, nice area, restaurants, etc. I would go again to this one or another from the same owners. -

On the stairs up to the Sacre Coeur. Clean, well lit flat with all the required equiptment to cook for yourselves and enjoy a romantic night in. Local brasserie for the all important croissant and pan au chocolat in the mornings. I would also reccomend the restaurant marguerite nearby. With a number of metro stations nearby, its a great location to explore paris from. My only frustration was on check in, we were contacted by the gentleman regarding check in times which he tried to bring forwards to help us out as we arrived early however he ended up running late and kept us waiting for 2 hours.
Response from Apartments For You - 03/26/2012
Manager
Dear David, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay in our property.
With regards to your early check-in query and as mentioned to you previously, we always do our best to accomodate our guests' special requests but unfortunately can't guarantee those.
I am deeply sorry for your wait, but when you initially asked me if it would be possible to check-in earlier than 3pm (standard check-in time), at that time it seemed to me there was a possibility to do it at 1pm. Unfortunately, it was a very busy day with many delays from guests and it was impossible to accommodate your request in the end.
I called to let you know that early check-in wouldn't be possible anymore and advise you to go for lunch in a recommanded restaurant next to the apartment. You answered me that was fine and told me you would go there; therefore I didn't assume that doing the check-in at a standard time (i.e. 3pm) was a problem.
In any case, apologies for any inconvenience caused by this misunderstanding.
We look forward to seeing you again,
Regards,
Lionel -

My wife and I decided to take our Honeymoon at this flat. We did extensive research before finally deciding on this place.
We were looking for a local-feel, good location (easy to get around via Metro, but also away from the somewhat chaotic city center), safety, and a good host. I am happy to report that all our expectations were met!
By the end of our stay, the local bakery and cafes all knew us. While Sacre Coeur sees a lot of tourists, you can also get a fantastic local flare in abbesses.
Lionel was a perfect host-- he took a few hours on Christmas Day to orient us with the flat and the city. He helped us plan our 8 days in the city, and was always available by phone.
The price is very competitive, and all the while, no comfort is spared.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this to anyone!

Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in December 2011
This was our first apartment rental experience while traveling and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
The pictures on the website were dead on in terms of how the apartment looks. It is within a five minute walk of the Chateau Rouge metro station (Purple line-#4) and is within the 1st zone of public transportation for Paris. We purchased a Paris Pass (www.parispass.com) and that allowed us unlimited transportation within the first three zones and free entrance into everything we wanted to see.
The host was very nice and met with us at the beginning of our stay. There are several grocery stores within walking distance was we enjoyed being able to cook several times versus always eating out.
The apartment is located on a flight of stairs that lead up to Sacre Coeur basilica, which provides a great outlook over the entire city.
There were only two of us staying there and the space worked out perfectly. Although there is technically room for four by utilizing the pullout couch, it would be a bit crowded in my opinion for anything more than two adults and two children.
We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris. -

Left on 09/23/2011 for a stay in September 2011
I stayed at the apartment with my husband, mum and brother for a family get away for five days. We were allowed to check in early which was great. We met with Lionel who was very friendly and gave us all the information we needed with regards to nearest the metro, supermarket etc...
The apartment is decorated to a very high standard, was clean, light and very trendy! It felt like we we staying at an arty boutique hotel. There was definitely enough room for the four of us. The fold-out sofa was easy to operate and extremely comfortable, as was the bed.
There are 3 local boulangeries that are within 5mins walking which we went to every morning for breakfast!!! And several really good local restaurants.
As for the location I couldn't have asked for anything better, it was perfect! The two major metro stations closeby anvers on Line 2 and Chateau Rouge on Line 4, which only took 10-18mins to reach the most popular shopping districts, tourist attractions and general places of interest. The best thing of all is that the apartment was only 2 stops on the metro from Gare du Nord if you take Line 2, which was very handy when you have lots of luggage.
The Sacré-Cœur Basilica which is a must see was right on our doorstep and the most beautilful church I've seen.
I would definitely rent this apartment again and my husband and I are already planning our next visit. Both Steve and Lionel were an absolute pleasure to deal with. -

I booked this apartment at the very last minute as I wanted to make a surprise to my boyfriend for his 30th birthday and I wasn't disappointed ! The location is absolutely brilliant, a couple of minutes walk from the Sacré-Coeur (the staircase in front of the building was very romantic) and the apartment very modern and comfortable...I particularly enjoyed the decoration of the flat (very high spec and elegant) ! Special thanks to Lionel, the owner and manager of the property, who was very helpful and friendly.
