A good place to rest your head.

Left on 01/14/2013 for a stay in December 2012

My husband and I stayed in this apartment from Dec. 29-Jan. 4. We had a very late arrival (22:30) at ORY, and the agent was not able to meet us at the apartment, but they did help us arrange a driver to pick us up who gave us the keys to the apartment so we could let ourselves in. The driver was waiting for us with a sign and was very helpful (although expensive about 100 Euros).

It would have been nice if there were a cheaper way to get our keys.

The apartment is located in a small ally that was not nearly as "romantic" as I had imagined, although it was safe. It's located on one block of about 3 in the immediate area that are mostly Chinese and Vietnamese resturants. This didn't bother us (we are orignially from the San Francisco area and comfortable with the Chinatown feel) but it was just a little suprising.

Once you walk 2 blocks in any direction however, you are right in the Marais neighborhood. We walked nearly everywhere and found the access to the nearby metro stations great.

The apartment is in no way a "luxury" apartment. But if suited out needs. The heat worked well while we were there and all the appliances worked. Note that there is not clothes dryer but we just laid out our clothes and they dried completely overnight.

Note there is no elevator and the last step is a little tricky, I missed it one night and took a spill. Also, the lighting in the stair well isn't great at night. So may not be ideal for older travlers.

A couple of the nights there was cigarett smoke from neighboring apartments seeping into our apartment, but only in the living room, never in the bedroom. But I guess that is to be expected in a city where there are a lot of smokers.

One final word of caution. The pull out futon was smaller than I imagined. I'm not sure 2 full grown adults would sleep comfortably in it. 2 children maybe, or a single adult.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, it was perfect for our needs, which were to have a clean place to sleep, eat, and shower.

      Great location, comfortable and clean.

My husband and I were in Paris for a week. The apartment was in a perfect location in the Marais. When we arrived english speaking people from the rental were in the apartment explaing everything from internet to every appliance in detail. It was extremely helpful. It is in a very old building, having said that, we did not see any smoke alarms or fire extingushers in the apartment. We loved the location the best. The bed was ok, the apartment could use a coat of paint on the windows and the floor a bit creaky. We did have a problem on the exit, in that when turning in keys, if you forget something you cannot get into the building. Over all a good experience.

Thanks for your helpful review. Based on your comments we have now fitted a smoke alarm (which is not requiredby law in Paris thought we agree it is a good idea - thanks for suggesting it!) We have also entirely repainted it and fixed up the apartment. We hope to see you again in Paris.

      Fantastic apartment!

Left on 10/01/2012 for a stay in September 2012

We booked this apartment very last minute after the original apartment we booked (through a different agency/website) became "unavailable because of a plumbing problem" three days before we arrived in Paris. The location is great, near several different Metro lines and buses. The building is quiet and the apartment is comfortable, especially the bed (I have a bad back, so a crappy mattress or a fold out couch does not work for me). Everything worked (except Mac users, be aware, we could not get on the wireless network - we used the Ethernet cable instead and that worked fine). You are not in the *heart* of the Marais neighborhood with a million restaurants and shops around you, but it's in a quieter part, which I found nice. The information book they leave you with is super helpful, and the representative who checked us in was lovely. I would recommend this place to friends and stay there again. Only one downside: 3 flights of stairs and no lift/elevator. After a very long day of non-stop walking, that can be a little brutal, but we managed!

I lived here for close to three years. Its very comfortable and is situated near the edge of one of the cooler hoods in Pars - the Haute Marais. The team took great care of me during my stay. Near many metro and bus stops. Best of all, its not close to any of the annoying tourist areas in Paris. You will be living amongst real Parisians.

      I highly recommend this apt.

      lovely apartment in great location!

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My husband and I really enjoyed our week's stay at Rue au Maire in May. There are so many personal touches in the apartment, with lots of guide books on Paris, dvd's and tv box sets etc provided by the owners. In short, everything you needed for a very comfortable stay.

The flat is in a great central location for exploring the city. We walked to the George Pompidou centre, and all over the historical Marais neighbourhood full of small boutiques, bars and restaurants etc. The metro is just a few steps from the apartment as well.

All in all I would highly recommend this apartment and Paris Rental Connections. Can't wait to visit again next year.

Great Neighborhood with a Clean, Well Lighted Place.

Left on 06/25/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This apartment was a good, although basic, place to stay. The neighborhood and location were great. We will stay in the Marais again. The street was nice, populated by asian restaurants and families. It was quiet, and felt very safe. We were close to restaurants and Museums; Pompdou and arts et Metiers. Also close to a great food market (Marches de Enfants Rouges), shopping, parks and metro stops. Short walk to Notre Dame and the Seine. The apartment was clean, not fancy. Felt like a college, or first apartment. Ikea furnishings. Fairly spacious. Had a washing machine. Good light from big windows. Coffee and wine provided! The manager was very helpful and friendly. Provided us great tips on being in Paris. Answered all of our questions and needs.

My husband, my daughter and I stayed in the apartment in May and really enjoyed it. Everything in the flat exactly as 'it said on the box.' Clearly someone had put a lot of thought and effort in providing all that was necessary for anyone to spend a very happy week. The flat was ideally positioned too - just minutes away from metro, and right in the centre of Paris. Highly recommended
