Inexpensive apartment rental in great location

Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012

My sister and I stayed at this apartment rental during our 5 day city trip. The location is amazing... easily accessible to all attractions - both walking and with the subway with a station literally just in front of the entrance (great to have for rainy days). The apartment was clean and was great to have wifi access for an international trip. It is also very quiet for such a great locale. As others have mentioned, the ceiling in the bedroom is quite low... I thought we would at least be able to stand in the middle at the highest point, but even there we could not stand up straight. The only thing that was annoying/I would recommend to change is the timer on the bathroom light. It would literally turn off after about 20 seconds which was a bit of a nuisance always having to hit the light back on. Also would have been nice to have hand soap at the sink for hand washing. But all in all, you cannot beat the price for the location and I would recommend it to singles or couples looking for an authentic Paris experience.

Our Parisian Home For a Week

Left on 04/20/2012 for a stay in March 2012

My wife and I have only one word for our week in Paris: Perfect. It is how we describe it to everyone when they ask how the vacation was. And a major part of that was our apartment. We arrived to the airport, had trouble getting train tickets into the city, was swallowed by all the people on Rue de Rivoli - but once the door to the courtyard for the apartment closed - it was quiet and as if we had gone back in time. The beautiful stairwell up to the apartment was filled with a neighbor playing quiet piano music. The windows were all lined with spring flowers. We were in love before we even opened our door. We had a bottle of wine, cheese, bread and fruit in the apartment at all times for our late nights looking out the window. We have been married seven years but it was like our honeymoon all over again, it was so wonderful. And yes, the location is unbeatable. We walked every where and if you are into late nights at cafes, they are only a few blocks away. We walked along the Seine River every night and never had to worry about how to get back - we were staying right there. And the i-pod player in the apartment, while a small detail, made the stay that much more enjoyable. We took turns picking music in the mornings and while drinking wine late at night. Listening to Cole Porter with my wife at one in the morning while drinking Cote du Rhone and eating chocolate truffles and feeling the breeze coming in from the window will always be one of my favorite memories of the trip!

Sweet and cozy apartment in an unbeatable location

Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in December 2011

The apartment is a small attic on the fourth floor of a building adjacent to the Hotel de Ville. The apartment is nicely decorated and has a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, and shower (yes, the shower is in the living room-kitchen area); a comfy bed; a TV/DVD/MP3 player; a couch and small table -- everything except for the toilet, which is on a separate level outside the apartment (not the most convenient setup, but not a big problem.) You'll be comfortable at night but probably spending the day touring the center of Paris, which is right outside your door.

      Fantastic location, good budget accomodation

Left on 10/23/2011 for a stay in October 2011

The apartment is two small rooms in an attic. There is no lift to get up and the celings are low and the toilet is down a few stairs in the hallway. Having said that the apartment was clean, had free wifi , fresh linens and towels were provided and had all the equipment we needed for making breakfasts and snacks.
We only had e-mail contact with the owners who sent us a code for the electronic door lock well before we set off making checking in and out very easy . The owners replied quickly to my e-mails and were flexable with our check in time.
The best thing about the apartment has to be the location. It is on a quiet courtyard but as soon as you open the door onto the street you are in a busy central part of Paris with the metro right outside and two minuets walk to Notre Damme.
We used the apartment as a base to be out and about, We found the location was good for going out in the evening with loads of restraunts and bars within a few mins walk. This ment we were happy staying out late because we didn't need to get the metro home.
The rental was good value budget accomodation and we would stay here again!

      Glad you enjoyed your stay.
Just for the benefit of others who maybe reading this, only the bedroom has an attic ceiling (Triangular). The main room with kitchenette and lounge is standard height ceiling. Lastly all guests have two different telephone numbers where we can be contacted on and a local emergency number in Paris.

A true gem on the doorstep of Les Marais

Left on 09/27/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We loved our four nights here. Not only were we within walking distance of the the nightlife of Les Marais, we had the tranquility of a courtyard (non street facing) apartment. What more could you wish for? It is cozy but more than what you will need for a stay in Paris. It is right next door to the metro stop also meaning you do not need to carry your luggage across town. A few metres walk away and you are on the banks of the River Seine. The price/offer comparison is hard to match in this area. If any small detail could be improved on it would be the fact that it took me a few minutes to figure out where the toilet is ... perhaps a clear indication/notice re this would help guests settle in. A bottle opener would also be a useful addition to the kitchen. Will definitely (and have already) recommend this apartment to friends and family

If Location is important - this is a great place

Left on 09/21/2011 for a stay in September 2011

First off - read the description.

This is an attic apartment, which means two things - it's a long way up and the ceilings are low. There are 90 steps to get to the apartment so we planned our day to have breakfast and then be out for most of the rest of the day in order to limit the number of trips up the stairs. I am 6'1" and had to make sure that I bent over to go into the bedroom (the living area was fine). And yes, the toilet is down 11 steps in the hallway. The light in the toilet is on a timer that switches the light off after 30 seconds - perhaps the landlord could change the timing on that?

In terms of location, it was perfect - Hotel de Ville across the road, Notre Dame about 4 blocks away, a Metro stop outside our front door, the Pompidou Centre nearby. There are lots of stores and cafes within easy walking distance.

For value for the money and location this is a great spot - just consider that it's an attic apartment and come prepared accordingly (less luggage would be better!!).

We did have an issue with a constant beeping and it turned out that the cleaner had left a towel on the "hob" which beeped to warn us that the towel was there. Once we talked to the staff and realized what it was, we had no other problems.

Excellent value for money in great location!

Left on 07/10/2011 for a stay in June 2011

This lovely 1 bedroom flat is located in the heart of Paris. The flat is quite small but the owners made sure to style it with taste and equipped with all the necessities.
Whenever I sent an email to the owner asking info for the flat he always replied to me immediately (in contrast to other owners which didn't even bother to answer my inquiries for availability...). After the booking and prior to our arrival the owner contacted us on time to provide us with all the necessary info.
The flat is beautiful and in great location. Even though it is small and the bedroom has low ceiling it was never a problem for us. We didn't spend much time in the flat as we were keen to discover Paris :))
The only minor disadvantage is that the toilet is not in the flat but in a separate room with its own entrance few meters away (only the shower is in the room). However, the discomfort of the "distant" toilet was minimum in comparison to the advantages that the flat offers.
All in all, it was great value for money and if I ever visit Paris again I would definitely choose to stay in Hotel de Ville!

Good location but low ceiling in the bedroom makes it uncomforta

Left on 04/18/2011 for a stay in March 2011

The best: the location. Also, as it is in a courtyard, there is no noise coming from the street. We were some minutes walking from every touristic place. Very good idea to have a code instead of a key. The wireless is very nice. Very well equiped, though we didn't find the stereo, which is advertised in the information of the appartment in the web page, neither the TV: there was a DVD player with a flat screen but no cable television was available. No microwave available in the kitchen.
The worst: the height of the ceiling (roof) in the bedroom. It was low and we bumped our heads many times: it is not adviced in the web page of the appartment.

Our apologies for your disappointment but we did not have any intention to mislead and the pictures on our website made it pretty obvious of the type of ceiling in the bedroom.

We have added a comment about the ceiling to make it a little more transparent to viewers.

In regards to the cable television comment, we have not advertised as having cable but just a TV which picks up local channels and dvd player.

Considered the absence of a microwave and we will install one in the near future.

Just a reminder this is a small cute attic apartment only suitable for 1-2 people not intended to provide lots of facilities just the basics at a budget price.

      Thanks
