My boyfriend and I recently stayed in this lovely little studio apartment for one week while visiting Paris. Marc Jules and Etienne made our stay very easy and comfortable. We were greeted with a fresh baguette and a warm welcome. The apartment, while very tiny, contained everything we needed: a very comfortable bed, a place to hang our clothes, a well-equipped kitchen including coffee, juice, milk, and jam for our baguette. The bathroom was clean and modern. The building is located in a very central part of Paris - we were just a short walk away from many tourist attractions, great cafes, stores and the metro station. The building was also very quiet at night - we had amazing sleeps! I would highly recommend this place and would definitely book with Marc Jules and Etienne again.

Our party of 2 couples loved this place. It was a perfect location. It felt safe, close to the metros, restaurants and shops. We travelled for a total of a month so our time their was restful and the washer/dryer was helpful.
Our only minor set-back was that no-one met us at our scheduled time. When I called, Marc-Jules was there within 5 minutes but the room apartments were not cleaned yet. We left our bags and when we got back, everything was perfect. Marc-Jules also helped us secure a taxi when we were leaving for the airport. We will recommend Couette et Cafe

Nous avons passé 2 nuits au Studio Nazareth. Petit studio superbement bien agencé, propre, à la décoration moderne sobre mais efficace. Niveau confort, 10/10, avec une literie de qualité. Idéalement situé dans une rue au calme, à proximité de tous commerces, de stations de métro, de petits bars. L'accueil sympathique de Marc Jules et les petites attentions comme la baguette, la confiture et le jus d'orange ont contribué à rendre notre séjour des plus agréable.

We traveled to Paris via the Eurostar from London St Pancras to Gare du Nord and we followed Marc-Jules' instructions for getting to the studio. As a pregnant traveler I was so pleased at the ease of getting from the station to the studio. When we arrived, we were greeted by MJ who showed us around and was so hospitable that we immediately knew this was going to be a great place to stay. We were not wrong!
The studio is gorgeous, well equipped and perfect for a city break. The bed was very comfortable (a must when pregnant) and the shower was always flowing with hot water! We appreciated the basics that were stocked in the cupboards e,g, tea, coffee, milk, butter, jam etc.
Location wise, it is serviced by a range of stations but also a nice walking distance from the Seine. There are a number of little supermarkets to get food.
In terms of area, we liked the area, it was quiet at night and the building generally quiet.
We loved Paris and when we do return we would definitely book with MJ again. We were uncertain with booking a holiday rental as you hear horror stories about people booking places that are awful. This place is fantastic.
We cannot wait to return, but this time with baby (though it is only big enough for two) but a travel cot could be put in!Response from Marc jules et Etienne - 06/13/2013

We stayed in the Nazareth studio and although it was small, it was super clean, and cute, and enough space for the two of us to maneuver. The owners were prompt on emails when booking, and helped secure transfer from the airport to meet him at the property. It's conveniently located, and they include some breakfast necessities, as juice, and a baguette with jams. We were super comfortable here and plan on staying here again the next time we're in Paris!

We spent 3 nights at Studio Nazareth at the beginning of april. We were greeted by Marc Jules on arrival, who was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Thank you for the recommendation for Pamela Popo - best steak ever! The accommodation was small but we had everything we needed, including maps and umbrellas, which came in really useful. Perfect location and good value for money. We'd definitely stay here again and will recommend to friends and family who are visiting Paris.

Very positive experience, wonderful location in the city center close to shops and restaurants. The studio is very well equipped, we had all the necessary for the breakfast (juice, bread, jam, milk etc...). the studio is small but cosy and nice. The landlords are very helpful and nice people.

We spent 2 nights Studio Nazareth and it was just perfect, really nice, well located,cosy, super clean and well equipped even if realy small. But you don't go in Paris to stay at home!

We stayed with two couples for Easter weekend and we enjoyed it enormously. Five minutes after checking in we met Marc-Jules in the local restaurant, where we had a great lunch.
After a whole day of strolling around the streets of chilly Paris, it was a relief of coming home in Couette et Café du Marais (next to the Jewish Museum), because it really felt like coming home.

Excelente departamento y servicio ofrecido. Marc Jules nos recibiò con baghettes recièn horneadas, mermeladas, leche, jugo y todo lo necesario para nuestros desayunos.

We stayed at the 2 Br apartment and we loved it. The apartment was clean, it had everything we needed to feel at home, and the location was perfect.
The bathroom and kitchen are very small by north american standards, but they too were clean, functional, and well equipped for a holiday stay. Internet, TV, iPod dock, phone, plenty of hot water, and great heating for the very cold weather we had.
Marc-Jules was away the week we were there, but he had someone else meet us at the apartment on our first day. We got tips on where to go and what to do, got a couple of baguettes to start us off, and were given his contact information to get in touch if there was anything else we needed.
Mid week a housekeeper came and changed our linen and towels, at no extra cost.

We enjoyed our 4-day stay in this little studio that was self-sufficient and so artistically designed. It was a lot of fun cooking in the kitchen because of the facilities of a great cooking stove, chimney, sink and cookware/ glassware. We only wished that it had more space in the wardrobe or additional shelves and hoped that we had come there after the renovation of the entrance. A nice view from the window would have made it perfect. However, the location of the studio is also convenient as it is near a laundromat, grocery store, shops and above all metro stations. We highly recommend this studio.

Great neighborhood (Le Marais) with plenty of shops and services in the neighborhood to choose from and one block from the brown line on the metro. Super convenient. Excellent price, I have access to cheap military hotels and they are not as location friendly for a tiny bit more, so no question as to which to choose.
Substantially better apartment than the last place I stayed at in Barcelona. Spacious for us and our daughter (aged 20 years), although you could easily fit four adults and a kid on the couch. Loved the separate bedrooms with doors over a hotel with two queen beds and no privacy. Kitchen and bathroom are small, typical European size, but there is a washer and dryer!!! Super nice if your planning on packing light.
Living room was fine, roomy and pleasant. Equipped for a iPod / iPhone to play some music. We had a very nice evening of cards, a little music, some wine, just the three of us.
Marc-Jules was very sweet, friendly, helpful. A real pro at this, and provided for our needs and then some.
We did have one small issue with the shower not draining very well, but we informed him and he assured us he will look into it. We have a similar issue living in the Netherlands (old houses, old pipes) and with a high turnover of occupants and knowing that everyone does not properly attend to hair at the drain, I can completely understand this being an issue. This seemed a very small issue compared to the rest of the positive aspects of the place. I would totally rent this place again and again.

We stayed in this space for 4 days this past fall. This space is very small - but if you've traveled around Europe before you know that this is pretty typical. .We were rarely in the room anyway so it really didn't matter. Everything was immaculate and clean.The studio is in a great neighborhood with local shops and restaurants Marc Jules met us at the Studio Nazareth on time and with a baguette which was delicious. The apartment was near a central metro station which made it convenient and easy to get to the tourist attractions.

Our hosts were away when we arrived, they arranged for a genial friend to meet us at the flat. Unfortunately, the key pad to open the building door had been damaged with no chance of it being repaired that day or the next. We were taken to another fla, Studio Nazareth, a ten minute walk from there. The flat had a nice living room-kitchenette, come bedroom. There was litterally not enough room to swing a cat. Although it was not our hosts' fault as such, we felt disapponted. But since we were in Paris for only four days and expected to be out most of the time, we were ok about it.
However, on our third day in Paris we got urgent texts asking us to vacate the flat and move to the one we had originally booked. We didn't really want to move for one night but our hosts left us little choice but to pack our bags and trundle along the streets again.
We were very pleased with our new flat, and wished we had been there all along. It was more spacious; no having to pull the bed down for the night in the match box sized living room for the night.
Studio Nazareth appeared clean, and most of it was, but the there was established dirt on the inside of the bathroom door.
We felt that we had been short changed and shunted back and forth to suit our hosts.
A gesture of good will would not have gone amiss, a partial refund, for example, or a bottle of wine.

As you have explained, yes there was a problem opening the door of our building rue Chapon (not the studio) and we had to move you to another studio but I think it was very professional of us, instead of leaving stuck outside without having no way to get in the building.
We understand your disappointment, having to change apartments, but we were far away from home, we thought it was miraculous because, due
a last minute cancellation, he had a free studio on Christmas Eve (which is very rare among us).
We didn't hesitate because it was exactly the same size, it is also more recent than Chapon studio, it's just arranged and equipped differently and so far all our customers,we have nothing but praise (see comments). And I can assure you that the studio
was ready to welcome guests and the house cleaning had just been done since we had a last minute cancellation and there was people coming in that day.
But being absent I did not have the possibility of checking and verify this house cleaning and you should have told me when it we
met.
For changing again on the last night it was not a last minute since I gave you the option to come back to the studio for 2 nights and you decided on the last day to do it but again we are sorry.
As you can see on FlipKey we are very committed to the satisfaction of our
customers and we are sad and disappointed that you have not enjoyed your stay with us.
We also recognize that we were disturbed by what has happened and we have
not thought to do a gesture of goodwill.
We therefore present our apologies for this inconvenience and we hope that you will hold no grudge and that if you return one day to Paris (home of someone
else) you will contact us so we can meet and talk over a bottle

We had a wonderful time staying at Couette et Café du Marais. We spent just over a week there at the end of 2012 start of 2013. Marc meet us at the apartment, it was a great size and very well taken care of. The building was very quite, only issue which was a small one was the other tenets must have been auditioning for the musical stomp because they walked up and down those stairs lol. But as I said it was only a minor problem, it only happened in the morning and we were already up to see the sights. I Can't stress enough how great Marc the owner was helped us with any question we had and was very polite.
It was a 3 min walk to the subway and a 10 min walk to Norte Dame. When you walked out on to the main street you could see the bell towers. The Centre du pompidou was a 5 min walk. The weather was wonderful for the time of year. For those heading to Paris for new years as we did, it was a bit of a let down. No fireworks, not even a big party. It was a very quite affair. The apartment was clean, cosy and very comfortable. The furnishings were elegant and it was a pleasure to spend time in the apartment. My partner was unwell during our stay, so it was nice to have an apartment to go back to with a proper kitchen to prepare food and drinks. All the administrative arrangements were dealt with incredibly efficiently. The only, very minor, problem was not being able to leave our bags after checking out as one would in a hotel. But, I'd definitely recommend to friends and would book again myself.

Excellent accommodation for our family of four. Plenty of room and fabulously located. Just around the corner is a street with many eating options and for great take out food. Hotel de Ville a 5 min walk with Metro stops handily located. Great morning jog to head down to the River Seine and run down through Louvre and onto Eiffel Tower. Apartment is superbly equipped with everything you could need: umbrellas, candles, laundry facilities, tourist information and guidebooks. Marc Jules has thought of everything you need to have a super stay and gives excellent service.

We stayed at the two bedroom du Temple apartment in the Marais district with another couple for one week. Marc jules provided excellent pre-arrival communications and met us on arrival with a lovely welcoming package. We found Marc jules a great host. The apartment bedrooms are quite spacious with comfy beds. The amentities are well appointed - washing machine & dryer, good wifi connection, satellite TV, free international phone - although we did find the kitchenette a little basic. The apartment was extremely clean and tidy; and even got a mid-week clean & service.
Du Temple is located close to good shopping facilities with a larger Monoprix supermarche a few hundred metres north along Rue Temple. The apartment is adjacent to the Judisme museum so the metro station at Rambuteau is very close by and we made full use of a five day zone 1-3 Visiteparis transport pass at 31.00 Euro to get around. Very convenient for walking to many attractions such as Notre Dame. There is no lift so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs.

My wife and I stayed in the Chapon studio apartment for 3 nights in September 2012 and were very satisfied with the experience. The apartment was clean and efficient, though small. Marc Jules is a very good off-site host and met us there promptly at our time of arrival. We took the Roissybus from CDG to Paris and walked to the apartment. The location in the Marais is perfect and staying in this apartment helped us feel like Parisians rather than tourists. The layout of the bathroom is not as efficient as in some small cabins we have had on cruise ships, but it works. It was nice having a kitchen for the extra sink and counter space, but we didn't use it.

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Studio Chapon. We stayed in early November for three nights. The lovely Marc-Jules met us at the studio and provided us with lots of information about transport and where to eat and drink in the Marais, which was much appreciated. This is our third trip to Paris and the Marais is a wonderful neighbourhood in which to base yourself - close to many tourist attractions and full of wonderful bars and restaurants. The studio itself is small, but has all you could ever need. Located down a very safe street, it was quiet, spotlessly clean and comfortable. It was a bonus having the kitchenette to make tea/coffee and the French breakfast provided was great. The bathroom was well appointed with a fantastic shower. Staying at the studio, rather than a hotel, allowed us to immerse ourselves in the Marais and experience the life of a Parisian, if only for three nights! Considering the price of accommodation in Paris, the studio is fantastic value. We would definitely return to stay at the Studio Chapon and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui 2 notti.. Ci starei tutta la vita.
Comodo al centro , 5 min a piedi e sei alla prima fermata della metro , Rambouton, e in altri 5 di metro sei in centro.
Puoi decidere invece di andare a piedi , facendo una piacevole passeggiata nel Marais e gustando i numerosi negozi e bar. tipici, ti ritrovi davanti a Notredam.

The studio is a little gem in the middle of Paris. The neighbourhood is withing walking distance to many sightseeing places such as Louvre. It is in the local neigborhood so for those who really want to feel like they are living Parisian lifestyle, it is a place book.
Metro is minutes away, but we have not used it, simply because many great attractions such as the Louvre, were about 15-20 minute walk.
Apartment is very clean, modern and cozy. I loved the high ceilings, little kitchenette and a very clean shower with a toillet. The kitchenette was equipted with all needed appliances and the fridge welcomed us with local jams and a fresh baguette.

We are pleased to recommend this flat which is extremely well appointed. Lots of attention to detail...lovely bathroom, comfortable Murphy bed, well-equipped kitchen and convenient to Metro. We were warmly welcomed by Marc and delighted thate was able to allow us to check-in early with our luggage so we could get on with touring the city. You should note that it is a lot of stairsif you have any mobility issues. Also, it is a very small apartment so not much room for luggage. All in all, very comfortable for a short stay. Very prompt attention by Marc Jules from the time of booking until our stay. Thanks for arranging a taxi to the airport. Worked out perfectly.

My girlfriend and I had a great time staying at their new apartment in the Oberkampf/République district. Marc Jules welcomed us when we arrived. He had stocked the kitchen with a baguette, jam, and milk, and he recommended some local restaurants. The pizza place downstairs is really tasty.
The apartment itself was clean and spacious, and the Bang & Olfsen stereo was a nice amenity. We also really appreciated having a washer/dryer.
There is no cable TV in the apartment, which we didn't mind, but just keep that in mind if it matters to you. It's also not as centrally located as their other apartments, so you will spend a bit more time riding the metro.

Marc Jules was a great host who gave us all the necessary information for our stay in Paris. The kitchen was well-equipped with bread, butter, coffee, teas, juice, milk, etc. for our morning breakfast. His suggestions for the local restaurants were excellent. All were within easy walking distance. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. We had the two-bedroom. The location was also excellent for exploring Paris.
My only criticism was the street noise each night (like 4:00 a.m!) outside our window. It must be a partying neighborhood. It might not be so bad if the windows were closed and we were wearing ear plugs. However, it was warm and we wanted the fresh air. This review pertains to an apartment at 21 rue Ternaux (11e), near the Parmentier Metro. It does not appear to have a separate listing here, but is under the same management (Marc-Jules). The apartment is on the corner of a side street and a pedestrian street, so it is quiet. Up a somewhat narrow stairway. Enter into a hallway, with the bedroom off to the right. The kitchen is on the left. A large living room is straight ahead. The bathroom is off the bedroom.
The kitchen is well-equipped for breakfast and small meals. There is even a washing machine! Marc-Jules provides milk, butter, jam, coffee, and tea, and a baguette on the first day; otherwise, breakfast is on your own.
Bathroom is small, as usual in Paris. The power-assist toilet is a quirky, and it gave us some trouble, but Marc-Jules got it working after we called. There is a window in the bathroom, which is helpful for ventilation.
The bedroom has what americans call a full-size bed, not huge. There is a large closet in the bedroom and nice reading lamps over the bed.
The living room has two large windows and a big mirror to make it seem bigger. A small TV also.
We never did get the wi-fi to work. Marc-Jules says it works for him, but it just didn't appear on my laptop. Fortunately the wi-fi for the cafe downstairs had a decent signal, and they thoughtfully selected the name of the cafe as their password, so we could be connected.
Location is just a couple of minutes walk from the Parmentier Metro, and a longer walk from Oberkampf. These are not on major lines, so you will probably have to transfer for most journeys. There is also a direct bus from the Gare du Nord.
The neighborhood is somewhat bohemian with many interesting cafes and restaurants. Cafe L'Autre is a good option. Nearby sights we recommend Père Lachaise cemetery (Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf) and the wonderful Belleville market, which will transport you to North africa.

My husband and I stayed at another apartment (not Couette et Café du Marais as that was full) owned by Marc-Jules. The apartment was nice and conveniently located within 5 minutes walk from Parmentier metro station. It was clean, included everything we could need in the kitchen as well as a washer/dryer. We really enjoyed staying a little away from the more touristy areas of Paris, while still being able to reach sights easily via the Metro. There are plenty of small bakeries and grocery stores nearby. Marc-Jules was also very kind in lending us a power adapter and fixing our wireless internet that didn't initially work on our laptop. We definitely recommend this apartment!

Great location. Unit is clean and greatly furnished. Bathroom is modern and large, especially for Paris. The only downside is the lack of view from the one window in the room, but not a deal breaker if planning on spending the day outside. Close to shops and restaurants along with Pompidou center.

An excellent apartment with all modern amenities. We had a wonderful stay in the Marais. Our host was very helpful and informative. We were stocked with baguette, milk, coffee, marmalade, orange juice. A grocery was right around the corner. We were safe and comfortable. I highly recommend any of the apartments that Marc jules and Etienne manage.

The booking process was an easy one as was all aspects of our stay in this cozy apartment in Paris.
The apartment was easily located, (a 5 minute walk to the Metro) very near the George Pompidou gallery. We were met on arrival by the charming owner who provided us with all information to enjoy our stay and an assurance he was at the end of the phone should we need him. No call was required as this is a beautifully equipped clean, well appointed studio apartment.
Tv and Wifi are provided as is a telephone which allows for free calls to most countries.
While the apartment itself is compact, the bathroom is a highlight with a perfect shower stall and very functional layout. The kitchen provided all amenities for cooking. There is no oven but this did not stand in the way of making an enjoyable meal.
Despite being in the centre of Paris, once inside the apartment there is no noise allowing for a very comfortable restful night's sleep.

My boyfriend and I arrived via taxi from Gare du Nord (10 euros) to find Marc Jule and Etienne's friends awaiting us in front of the apartment building. His friends were very welcoming and charming and took us up to the 3rd floor (2nd floor in Europe) walkup. The stairs were narrow, but the apt was a beautiful and sun-lit one-bedroom with huge windows in every room. The hardwood floors were impeccable and the decor was simple, modern, chic, and comfortably homey!
The kitchen was small but was well appointed. Our hosts brought a fresh baguette to complement the cheese, jam, milk, juice, and beer that was in the refrigerator. There was excellent coffee and a selection of tea from the famous Parisian tea house, The Mariage Freres.
The living/dining room was comfortable with huge floor to ceiling windows. The view is special in that it is typically Parisian! The sofas and table were comfortable. The music player was another very, very good quality one. These small luxuries (including very fast wifi) made one feel at home.
The bed had wonderful linens and was extremely comfortable. It was hard not to sleep in!
The bathroom was small, of course, but functional and chic with slate floors and matching gray walls.
The location of the apartment could not be better! It is a short cab ride from Gare du Nord and just a 5 minute walk from the Metro at Republique and Oberkampf. It is off the main areas enough so that you don't run into tourists; but instead see cool young professionals going about their business. It's a very easy, and interesting, 15 minute walk to the heart of le Marais and Bastille.
More importantly, the apt is off the main street surrounded by a small bakery, antique store, popular lunch spot, and a super hip bar. There is also an amazing homemade Italian place just east on Oberkampf. It was quiet, but lively.
Overall, an excellent stay. Marc Jules and Etienne know what matters to a traveler. I will return for a week or more!!!Response from Marc jules et Etienne - 10/02/2012

We were met by Marc Jules as arranged, who took us through all information, gave us maps etc. A couple of warm baguettes, plenty of milk, orange juice and everything one would require for a four day stay was provided on arrival. The location was fantastic as it was very central and only a 5 minute walk to either of two tube stations. A supermarket, boulangerie and fruit shop were just around the corner. The washing machine and dryer came in very handy as we were going onto Switzerland for a further 10 days. The only downside was that the wifi did not work, not a disaster but would have been very handy to have.

The 2nd floor flat where we stayed was clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It was located within easy reach of the metro and the Canal St Martin district . The 'meet and greet' by the owner was prompt, courteous and informative.In addition, the provision of milk, tea, coffee, bread and various jams was a welcome surprise.We would certainly return there.I cannot comment on the value as it was a wonderful gift from our children to celebrate our ruby wedding anniversary.

We stayed for three nights here and it was such a great base for exploring Paris. The Marais area has a lot going on with amazing shopping and a funky/artistic vibe and the apartment is 5 minutes walk to Georges Pompidou. It took less than fifteen minutes to walk to Notre Dame and was closely located to a Metro stop. We also walked to Montmarte from here (although the area between the apartment and Montmarte was not the nicest area of Paris, i.e. catch the metro instead). There are heaps of bistros/restaurants and an amazing patisserie within approx. 200m. Highly, highly recommend staying here!

This studio is beautifully appointed, marc jules is so helpful and the location is good. But there is only one window in the apartment which looks into another apartment about two metres away! Consequently, we had the curtains closed almost all the time which made the apartment very claistrophobic.

This apartment is centrally located. Short walk to Notre Dame. Good space for a family of four. Very well equipped. Clean. The owner Marc Jules had bagettes and yummy jam for us when we arrived. Spent time giving us directions and made the best recommedations for restaurants and the famous bakery Hure. Getting around Paris was quite easy using public transportation. The only challenge was pulling up to unload our luggage. The apartment is on the corner of a busy street.

Stayed at Chapon Studio for 4 nights following a party in Uk to celebrate our Ruby Wedding anniversary. Studio is quite compact, but everything in place for a relaxing stay, well appointed and stocked kitchenette, and super shower/bathroom. Ideally situated within walking distance of Pompidou Centre 10 mins, 15 mins walk to Notre Dame and Louvre. Would suggest if travelling by Eurostar get a 3 or 5 day pass Metro pass at St Pancras International info desk - invaluable for getting around on the metro. Boulangerie just round the corner and couple of bars within 5 mins, lots more in Rue St Denis about 10mins.

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful apartment in Paris for 5 days. We were so lucky to find it despite the the last-minute short notice. Marc Jules was incredibly helpful and nice, also quick and prompt with communication. He left us everything from guidebooks and tips to a fresh baguette and juice/milk! The apartment was clean, chic, and much bigger than we expected- the pictures do not lie! The location was perfect and allowed us to spend lots of time walking around Le Marais and beyond, and also commuting via the Metro at Parmentier which was only a few minutes a way. We are so happy we stayed here instead of at an overpriced hotel!

The owner is a very thoughtful and tasteful individual. The tiny studio reminds me of a well designed and highly functional apartment in modern Tokyo. It has everything you need, especially if you are coming abroad. I find coffee, jam and voltage converter, cutting board, detergent, umbrella and other little things helpful. It is definitely an ideal place for a single person or a couple who seek longer local living experience in Paris.

We are so glad we found this gem! This charming, clean apartment was perfect for four adults. We had lots of space and the beds were comfortable. The amenities - washer/dryer, wifi, long distance phone, stocked kitchen - made it feel like a home away from home. The location was great too - close to the metro which made it a central location to see the city. And how lucky to be around the corner from the most amazing little patisserie :) Marc Jules was a great host who answered all our questions and arranged transportation for us to the airport. My friend and I stayed at the studio between the 11th and 18th of July 2012, upon arriving from an exhausting 14 hour flight (including layover) we were met by Marc promptly, he showed us through the studio, pointing out places we can eat and what to avoid (gypsies); we asked him a trillion questions and he answered every single one of them.
Pros:
- Location, location, location, its less than 5 minutes' walk from the Republique station, walking distant to many attractions such as the Pompidou, with many good restaurants nearby.
- Furnishing, the studio is furnished impeccably and with good taste, you would find everything you need.
- Neighborhood; very safe, never felt worried walking late at night (arrived home around 2 a.m. everyday), considering other neighborhoods we saw.
- Price; very affordable Parisian experience, I do not like staying at hotels as it takes away from the "experience" of the country I'm visiting.
- Hosts; again, this is a deal breaker for me, but Marc couldn't be any more helpful, he made our stay feel at home.
Cons:
- The studio is a bit small, but considering this is Paris, we can't complain.
- Would have preferred a room with a view of the front of the building rather than the back.
- While the bed is appropriately sized, it felt a bit small for us, considering we are above average sized, nevertheless, we had a good night's sleep every night.
I would definitely recommend the studio to anyone visiting Paris, especially friends or young couples, you can't ask for a better location, some suggestions:
- We had breakfast at the baker close to the Republique station, excellent French pastries and affordable.
- Ari's Bagels (I hope I got the name right) is a small shop at the other end of our street, one word; fantastic.
- Buy a data SIM card for your iPad or iPhone at the Orange shop next to the Republique station, this was crucial when we lost our way outside of Paris and had to rely on maps and GPS.Response from Marc jules et Etienne - 09/17/2012

What a nice stay! It was easy to book from home. He promply answered our questions, gave us directions from the airport and was waiting on the street when we arrived. The place was neat and clean and very quiet at night. The room is not big, but the kitchen was very handy when we wanted to just just rest after the busy touring day and have a bite (grocery close by). The cable TV and the free international phone worked out well. It is located close to the Metro, but many places we just walked to enjoy the great weather Marc supplied! We would gladly stay here again.

The studio is a lovely little apartment near Le Marais, in a fantastic location close to many attractions and good dining options nearby. The property is very well equipped with a compact kitchenette and ample milk, butter, orange juice, jam provisions. The raspberry jam is the most amazing I ever tasted! Marc Jules is a great host - he gave us very helpful tips on public transport connections which made it easy for us to get by. A great affordable place to stay.

This is a great, clean, spacious, and fairly priced apartment in a fantastic Paris location with wonderful owners/hosts. We are family of four with two adolescent girls. We stayed at the apartment at the beginning of June 2012. We had an unusually bad experience taking the RER from Charles de Gaulle to Chatelet les Halles (super slow, unbearably hot, and packed) and were at least 2 hours late to meet Marc at the apartment. However, once we arrived at the apartment and met Marc, our day immediately improved! Marc greeted us with warm baguettes and jam and quickly made us feel at home and like we were old friends. He spent time to get us acquainted with everything in the apartment, recommended shops and restaurants, and answered all of our questions. The apartment is spacious, clean, has a washer/dryer, and is in a convenient Marais location within easy walking distance to Notre Dame, St. Chapelle, Seine riverboat tours, Pompidou Center, and everything else by Metro or RER. (We used the Metro/RER for the rest of our stay with no problems.) Everything that you need from the bakery (at least 2 of them), fruit stand, butcher shop, supermarket, and aTM is around the corner from the apartment. We had a wonderful stay and did not want to leave. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment with wonderful owners to anyone. This will be our first choice next time we return to Paris.

We had a fantastic time in Paris and much is thanks to the central affordable accomodations at couette et Cafe du Marais.
Our apartment was small, but totally perfect for a couple that plans to be out and about all day.
We loved having a kitchenette so we could prepare breakfast and sandwiches before heading out for the day.
Everything was very clean and new and very nicely decorated; these features can be challenging to find in Paris based on my previous experience.

This was a very cozy little place with very nice decor. Marc was very helpful and thought of pretty much everything! there is a market just down the street that we took advantage of and made food for picnics every day in our little kitchen (we bought little zip locks as there wasn't any tupperwear). June in Paris was a bit too busy for us and the people in the building can be really loud at times so bring earplugs (we slept with them in and that helped). We would rent again if we were coming back.

My Husband and I spent 4 nights in Paris at the end of may. This apartment was the perfect location as a home base for our trip, only a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame. It was easy to get to from the airport via the metro and when we arrived bright and early Marc jules was there to meet us. The apartment is small but the space is utilized very well and it had everything we needed. A small kitchen area with a table for two. An excellent sized bathroom and a very comfortable Murphy Bed. It was very clean and obviously well cared for. There was even a fresh baguette and jam waiting for us. It was a great experience and we would rent from Marc jules and Etienne again without hesitation.

The email correspondence was prompt and complete. The apartment was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was fantastic. Everything in the apartment worked and the space was used to the maximum efficiency. The location had great access to the Metro stops and was a great area to walk in. We loved the cafe/bar that was right across the street. Also great access to grocerys store and a bakery. It was quiet at night for sleeping and only a few stairs to walk up. We felt safe and were very comfortable during the week we stayed.

From setting up the arrangements overseas with Marc-Jules to checking in and out of the apt and the stay itself, everything was just great. The studio is well equipped, convenient and comfortable. Great neighborhood-- near Temple and Republique which makes it easy to get anywhere in Paris, including airport, long distance trains and the Metro. Plenty of bike sharing stands nearby. And several affordable restaurants within a block. All the fun of the Marais is close at hand too. The studio itself is on the small side, but efficiently laid out with plenty of storage space. Room to sleep, work and eat. And good Wifi. Marc-Jules and Etienne were readily available and responsive.

The appartement is in an excellent Marais location, tucked in a side street with everything you need nearby (supermarket, bakery...) facing a backyard. This and a good proper bed ensure a good night rest. Everything was ok clean. However the appartement is really small, especially when the pull-down bed is pulled-down there is not much space in the room left. So if you are looking for somewhere to crash, in a good location in an good atmosphere- this is a good place to stay. Just do not expect a large room - some of the fotos give the impression that there is a lot of space left.

This room was everything it said in the description. It was right in the heart of Paris and had everything we needed for our two night visit to this amazing city. I got engaged to my girlfriend during this stay and this studio was the perfect retreat at the end of each wonderful day.
The owner Marc Jules was there to meet us and was very helpful. He gave us advice on where to eat, good clubs and even lent me his street map for the couple of nights. The basics like juice, jam, milk etc were stocked which was convenient and the place was immaculate.
We had a superb time and would definitely stay there again.

My husband, two teenage children and I stayed here the first week of april. Could not have asked for a better place to stay. Marc was the ultimate host, greeting us as we got there and was available for anything we needed. The location was perfect-right in the middle of everything. Never once did I feel unsafe, and there were shops and restaurants everywhere. Unfortunately, for my waistline there was a delicious pastry shop just around the corner. The metro was also very close, which was a big plus with all our luggage. The apartment itself was wonderful, quiet street, small convenient kitchen and washer and dryer. For being right in the middle of everything-it was very quiet also. Would definitely recommend this quaint apartment to anyone. We had a wonderful time in Paris!!

We stayed here for only three nights in May. Etienne was there to meet us and show us around the studio upon our arrival. The studio was recently redone and all the furniture was brand new and modern. Fresh bread, juice, milk and jam was awaiting us for our stay as well. He was more than helpful in answering any questions that we had and went out of his way to make us feel at home.

We spent 8 nights at the rue du Temple apartment. Marc Jules, the owner, stood smiling at the front door as we wheeled our luggage up rue du Temple. He showed us all the amenities his apartment offered - 2 bed rooms, bath with washer/dryer, kitchenette, and dining/living area filled with all the little things you need to live - everything from wifi and free phone anywhere including back to us; a well stocked kitchen with jam, butter, juice, milk, plastic wrap, spices, oil, etc; a book filled with great restaurant choices; and even a fresh baguette! We emailed him with questions during our week and he quickly provided recommendations or answers that were spot on. Within a 10 minute walk were no less than 5 world class museums, Notre Dame/St Chapelle, flower market, the Sunday Bastille Market (a must), the Jewish quarter, and Latin quarter. Within 200 yards were great food shops and several great cafes and restaurants (including several in the top 150/3% on Trip advisor).

We stayed at Studio Chapon on Rue Chapon for one week in September 2011. We especially liked the location, since it is centrally located and a short walk to the metro. The Studio is clean, comforatable well equipped with a small kitchen. Rue Chapon is quiet and we slept well with no noises at night. The hosts were friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend Studio Chapon to my friends.

I and my friend stayed there for 3 days before my business trip, unlucky our flight was a bit delay because of it was very foggy and couldn't landed on time. Therefore, we arrived the apartment a bit late but the owner (Marc Jules) was already there to greet us! He showed us every room in his apartment and it was really lovely apartment indeed! You can get what you see on the website! The bed was clean and comfortable, tiny kitchen but it's ok for us since we only used the kitchen for quick breakfast in the morning. The living room was nice.
This apartment is very close to everything you wanna see in Paris, very convenience to go everywhere by metro ( 3mins walk from Rambuteau station) and it's super close to Centre Pompidou! You can also walk to Hotel de Ville (lot of restaurants and shops there).
We really enjoyed everything in this apartment and we definitely come back again! Thanks so much Marc Jules for your warm hospitality. -

My partner and I stayed at Du temple apartment for 5 nights this July.
In short the apartment is a great base for visiting Paris - we have been before so this trip was all about eating, drinking and relaxing. Thankfully the apartment is spacious and comfortable as most of our trip was cold and rainy - making it perfect for picking up food and wine to enjoy from home.
Lots of supermarkets, cafes, Atm's and metro stations close by. The apartment includes anything one might need traveling - washer/dryer, iron, refrigerator, iPod base, television, etc.
Perfect location for Lgbt travelers as all of the best cafes, bars, etc. are all within walking distance. -

This spotlessly clean and stylish 2 bedroom apartment allowed us to really relax and pretend being French! The location is fabulous - in the Marais in a quiet street, a minutes walk from the Pompidou. Our landlord met us with fabulous baguette, and the apartment offers little extras - like coffee, jam, butter, juice - that you really appreciate. Comfy beds, a tiny but perfectly functional kitchen, pleanty of room and even a washing machine made the stay just wonderful.

My family of five (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed at the apartment for a couple of days and were charmed. Location is great, we walked everywhere or else took the metro, which was cheap and easy to navigate. We made breakfast each morning- great shops very close by, and ate at the wonderful restaurants all within walking distance. The gracious hosts arranged a car to pick us up at the airport- although with the horrible traffic, I would suggest taking the train, although the apt might be hard to find the first time on your own. Anyway, the driver was fabulous and had lots of info to share. We were greeted at the apartment and then we were off on our Paris adventure. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone!

This B&B; was fantastic. Very clean, no dust, no spider webs (I look for these things). Smelled nice and clean and fresh, internet worked well, fridge had supplies in, there was even coffee so we could make our own, washer and dryer (good cause we were backpacking). Bed was very comfotable, more than enough space and amenities. The only thing I can say that wasn't 100% was that the shower leaked, but we put a towel down and that helped.
We had arrived very early not expecting to find it so easily coming from various trains and subway lines, but we were able to leave our things behind and begin the sight seeing which was great.
Marc and Etienne were not available so sadly we did not meet them, but Flavio their assistant, was more than helpful with my limited french and his limited english, we shared a couple of good laughs and we went on our way again.
There are all kinds of lovely fresh fruit and veg. markets in the area so we picked things up and ate at the house quite a bit. The "Monoprix" is a "grocery" store near by and we went there a couple of times, it seemed sort of like a small version of Meijer's in the states.
Met my husbands half brother here from Germany whom he had not met in 17 years, it was really great for us because there was plenty of room for us all.
See the Eiffel Tower at night time it's loads more spectacular. Notre Dame was stunning. We tried to go see the big cemetary but we missed it's opening times by 1 hour. Saw the museum right around the corner, Centre Pompidou, modern art'ish works!Walked endlessly, which could have been cut in half by using transit but we wanted to be out in the air. They have business cards of places to eat, we didn't do much eating because we snacked at the house, again having been eating on the go for many days already the kitchen was a welcome reprieve to eating out.
We would definately stay here again if we return to Paris. -

My partner and I stayed here to celebrate the 10th anniversary of when we first met. We were delighted with the apartment, it is decorated to a very high standard and is supplied with everything needed to make our stay perfect, even down to a supply of the kitchen basics. There was a lovely traditional boulangerie around the corner that provided us with a ready supply of breakfast croissants, baguette etc and a good range of other local shops/supermarkets. We were excellently located for the Paris Metro/RER and also within a short walking distance of main attractions such as Notre Dame/Ile de la Cite, Le Marais district etc. Marc Jule & Etienne have a gem of a place here and we will certainly return.

It was perfect. The location had the metro one block away. At night you had a great variaty of places to eat.
The owners were very helpfull. The place was very confortable that had even wifi and a washer for clothes. It is a very old building but the apartment is renovated simple but with very good taste.
I higly recommend it. -

Yet very small, the apartment has everything you'll need during your stay in Paris, from the essentials to the luxury accessories (free wifi, iPod stand, free calls to Europe). Everything was very clean, and the place was quiet. The only downside is there's no elevator, but the apartment is just at the first floor.
The accommodation is also near to the metro (Arts et Mètiers), but a walk to the Marais or Notre Dame is something I'd definitely suggest.
The owners, Marc Jules and Etienne, are very kind and provided all the information we needed. -

My friend and I stayed in the studio and it was lovely. Very clean with modern/nice bathroom and comfy bed. The owners were very kind and accommodating- a pleasure to deal with. The location was great...very close to the metro and short walk to Notre Dame. Also very reasonably priced, considering the great location. Wish we could have stayed there longer!

Our stay at Couette et Café du Marais was truly memorable. Marc Jules was extremely helpful and welcoming. The apartment was a lot bigger than we were expecting, with a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom all to ourselves in a very funky and trendy area! We walked everywhere and the metro was just around the corner. We got engaged whilst in Paris so it made our stay at the apartment even more special. It was so nice to come home to after a day of sightseeing. It had everything we needed plus extras like wireless internet. We were given fresh bread on our first day for our breakfast but it only lasted a day. Thank you Marc Jules for a fantastic stay!

Apartment was clean, modern and comfortable. It was also tucked in a little street in a fabulous neighborhood. Very convenient neighborhood, close to good restaurants and tourist attractions and metro station. I will definitely stay at Couette et Café du Marais when I visit Paris again!

The apartment is a short walk north of the centre, just off rue Beaubourg in a quiet sidestreet of a very charming area of central Paris.
Although small, the apartment was well appointed and clearly a lot of thought has gone into the design. Very good shower too- which is always nice!
Etienne gave us a warm welcome, was very easy-going and helpful- even when my idiot partner locked the keys in the apartment (in spite of being repeatedly warned not to!). Also nice to have flexibility on check-out times on the last day- it made the journey back to the airport as relaxing as if could be.
Summary- We had an absolutely perfect stay in Paris, helped by our choice of accommodation: I honestly can't think of anything even slightly negative to write. Really fantastic. -

The studio is great for short trips to Paris. There is enough space for two people and even a small baby (who slept between wash-basin and sliding door while we were cooking). The studio is very clean, comfortable (supersize blanket) and quiet, and you can phone and e-mail your beloved ones in Europe. We had a very warm welcome on our arrival with all explanations and necessary information. We were even catered for the first night with baguette and there were orange juice, milk, jam, etc in the fridge. You just have to walk over the markets of Paris or the nearby supermarkets to add what you like for dinner. The quarter is great, however, the street (rue Chapon) is a tiny one. You will have to bend on the window to guess what the weather is like, since the studio shows to a tiny backyard and therefore is quite dark. You are very close to most of the main sites in the centre and there is only very short walking distance to several metro and bus stations. Thanks a lot to Etienne and Marc-Jules.

We were greeted at the door by an extremely friendly gentleman with baguette in hand. He was wonderful at explaining all about the apartment. There was a nice selection of tea and jams with coffee for breakfast. The apartment is wonderfully located next to public transit but on a very quiet street. It was the perfect place as a base to explore Paris. The cost was quite reasonable for Paris prices. We loved it and I was highly recommend The Studio!

I can't fault this flat or the welcome we received from our host. On first floor in quiet street - 10 meters from busy road which had shops, bars and restaurants. 10-minute walk from so many want-to-see places - one block from Metro for further sightseeing.

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary, having been to Paris twice before and stayed in hotels. We loved the studio's location - and walked to most places that we wanted to see. Dealing with Etienne and Marc-Jules was a pleasure, they responded promptly to all emails and were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. We have been very mean dropping a star for comfort - that is only because I would have liked the option of a firmer pillow, as I have trouble sleeping on soft pillows - but that really is the only thing I can think of to suggest. The studio is small, but plenty of space for a couple staying for a few nights, and bigger than most hotel rooms in Paris!

I just stayed there two weeks ago and it was fantastic! We lucked out and had the entire place to ourselves which was amazing. Marc Jules was really helpful and the place is super clean. It was a fantastic location, we walked to Notre Dame and the island in about 10 minutes. We walked to the Louvre in about 45 but it's right on the subway line if you don't want to walk. The place was nice and quiet but in a fun area with lots of good restaurants. I can't say enough good things about the place!
