ManchesterGreat location, horrendous stairs!
Left on 05/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012
This is a lovely apartment in a great location in saint Germain, with plenty of shops and cafes nearby, and a metro station just minutes from the door. There is a Franprix and a Monoprix nearby, which sell food, toiletries, etc.
The apartment is well equipped, with everything you need - bottle opener, cutlery, plates, glasses, loo paper, bedding, etc. (and wine!) There are also stacks of Dvds (mainly in French), CDs and books. The balcony runs the length of the apartment, which is lovely to have. There is a small table on the balcony, but I was disappointed that there were no chairs out there. There are small stools inside the apartment which could be taken outside, but these don't have backs so they get quite uncomfortable to sit on after a while. My idea of long evenings sat on the balcony with a bottle of wine were sadly unfulfilled.
Although a terrific apartment in a great location, I wouldn't stay there again. I was aware there was no lift and that the apartment was on the fifth floor when I booked it. My husband and I, being fairly fit and in our thirties, didn't think this would be a problem. But after a day's sightseeing - trekking for five hours or so around Paris, climbing the various stairs at the arc de Triomphe and the metro stations; or after a bottle of wine with our evening meal - climbing back up the apartment stairs just about finished us both off!
Also, be warned, the pillows are the sort where, when you put your head on them, they immediately flatten right out so your head is mattress-level. A small niggle, but the cause of some uncomfortable nights. On our very last day, we discovered the mattress lifts up and a space under there with spare bedding. Too late for us, but someone else might benefit from this tip.
I highly recommend Vacation in Paris, and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. I was very apprehensive booking with a company in a different country to me, with nothing but a few internet reviews, but their communication was terrific. I got emails at every stage, payment was secure through PayPal, and the keys were shipped well in advance, with very clear and easy instructions and a map to the apartment. Terrific! -

Berkeley, CaliforniaQuiet Paris Flat at the Heart of Everything
Left on 08/12/2011 for a stay in July 2011
This apartment was ideal for us and our 12-year old daughter: right in the heart of the St. Germain neighborhood so an easy walk to cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and of course, the shops. It was, surprisingly, completely quiet and peaceful for being in such a busy neighborhood, because of its location behind a courtyard and 5 flights of stairs up. We were pleased with how clean the apartment was, and how much storage space there was for such a small (typically Parisian) place. The tall french windows ensured plenty of light and air, and the fascinating books lining the walls added to the charm. We like to cook an occasional meal when we are traveling and the kitchen had everything we needed, including an n'espresso machine. We felt lucky to stay here.

Clearwater, FLIt is a very nice apartment in a great location.
Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Make sure that you are in good shape because the spiral staircase is quite a work-out,but the apartment is worth the hike. There are plenty of good bistros and cafes in the area and lots of shopping.

Portland, OregonGreat location to live like a local and walk everywhere
Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in March 2011
This flat was perfectly situated in the heart of the 6th! We could walk everywhere: 15 minutes to Norte Dame, 10 minutes to the Louvre or Musee d' Orsay. Evening strolls along the Siene were a must. The neighborhood is upscale and we felt very safe. The building itself is very private and quiet. Handy grocery stores made breakfasts and snacks in the flat easy. The flat itself was efficient and we were comfortable with 2 adults and 2 children for 4 nights. The bed was comfortable, 2 kids slept on the pullout sofa, and the outdoor balcony offered a view of Parisian rooftops and a welcome place to sit with a glass of wine. Our kids loved the flat screen TV and great DVD movie selection at night. The plastic stools were cheap and prone to tipping over, so be careful you don't end up on the floor. The kitchen was extremely well equipped. We made several light meals at the flat and always had everything we needed. As noted in the description of the flat, there is no elevator and the flat is on the sixth floor. But the reward for climbing the stairs was your own little Parisian flat to call home for your visit! Overall, it was very charming and we loved the flat.

Charlotte, NCComforting Stay in St. Germain
Left on 08/02/2010 for a stay in July 2010
Our stay in this St. Germain was a nice way to end our vacation in Paris. Many sites are within walking distance. The Luxembour and Tuilleries gardens were essential in keeping young children happy. The markets were close by and I even found a nice swimming pool (lap swim) under the St. Germain Marche. Overall, a very nice apt and we felt very much at home in the area.
