Perfect location, great service
Left on 05/04/2013 for a stay in April 2013
I stayed at this apartment with my young daughter for 8 nights in april 2013 and was completely satisfied with service, location and features of the apartment.
The apartment was ideally suited for a couple of two family members travelling together but, in theory, 3-4 could manage if expectations of privacy were realistic (e.g., the washroom is adjacent to the living room). We did not use the loft space but it would be well-suited for a tween who wouldn't need to use the washroom overnight.
Kitchen amenities included microwave, toaster oven, toaster, kettle, espresso maker, mini-fridge, two induction stove-top elements and a washing machine. It was also well supplied with plates, cutlery, glassware, pots & pans, cooking utensils and basics for both cooking (salt, pepper, oil, balsamic vinegar) and cleaning (dish soap, washing machine tabs, paper towel). All the appliances we tried worked fine and there was enough room for the drying rack to dry our clothes overnight.
Bed was very comfortable (especially after all the walking we did!) but over-sized pillows may not be for everyone.
Complimentary phone calls within Paris and to North america were a great bonus. In the end, I did not bother getting a card for the European cell phone we'd borrowed since the land line in the apartment served our needs.
Lift worked fine while we were there but there isn't really room for luggage unless one person takes one piece of luggage at a time.
I would argue that the building is as quiet as you get for any building of that age and style. We only heard others in the stairwell late on a Friday night and a couple of times when the neighbour above wore shoes in his apartment. It was never unbearable and any noise reminded us to be considerate of our own neighbours.
Service from VIP was prompt, professional and helpful. -

Brisbane, AustraliaGorgeous Parisian Experience
Left on 04/24/2013 for a stay in January 2013
This apartment provided exactly what we wanted from our Paris accommodation - a genuine Parisian experience, value for money, and on the left bank close to many attractions.
Not only did this little apartment live up to all of our expectations, the location was outstanding. it's on the same street as the D'Orsay, and only a few minutes walk from the river, Lourve etc.
The process with booking was simple - we called the english speaking agent whilst at the train station a few hours away, and picked up the keys from the cleaner at the apartment.
The apartment was really clean - it was small, but suited my partner and I very well. It was quiet, no street noise. The only thing we heard from the neighbours was listening to piano practice one afternoon - hardly imposing and really quiet lovely. When passing neighbours in the hall they were all very polite, greeting us every time. -

San Francisco, CaliforniaNot safe - Apartment was broken into and we were robbed
Left on 08/07/2012 for a stay in July 2012
Do not stay in this apartment - it is in a nice neighborhood but the building is not safe. Someone broke in mid-day, rifled through our things and our daughter's clothes and stole what little we had kept there (2 iPhone chargers, Kindle charger and a new t-shirt from the Van Gogh museum). They even ate some of our candy. This was definitely a set-up - they knew when we were gone and only broke into our apartment and the one next door (there are several floors and apartments) - it is supposed to be a secured building with a passcode. Someone was watching us; perhaps the man who peed openly in the courtyard two nights in a row, or the man upstairs who yelled from 4:30am on.
And not only were we robbed, Vacations in Paris did nothing to help. They didn't help us find another place to stay and have never followed up when we contacted them upon our return (they still haven't contacted us, two weeks later). They did refund the night's stay - but really, who would stay in an apartment that was just robbed? They also mislead us about using the loft in the apartment and did not include clean sheets on the mattress on it.
There were other issues with the apartment, but safety and security is definitely the main problem. I would never recommend anyone stay here. It was frightening, intrusive and we felt very alone in Paris. Luckily, we found a hotel to stay, Le Relais du Louvre, which we would highly recommend - the staff was lovely and so kind to us. They felt so bad about what happened and didn't want us to think all of Paris was like 25 Rue de Lille.
Bottom line - we would never rent from Vacations in Paris again and we truly hope no one has to go through what we did. Please, do not stay in this apartment.Response from Vacation In Paris - 08/21/2012
Manager
We are very sorry for the problem that occurred during this guest’s stay. However we would like to comment on several assertions presented by the renters:
1. Not a safe building: The building has security that is typical in Paris – a digital keypad to enter a pass code that unlocks the main entrance to the building. The apartment itself however is equipped with one of the best locking systems available - a five point system which locks with five locking bolts on the top, side, and bottom of the door. After the break-in, the locksmith that repaired the lock confirms that the guest did not properly activate this system. If the guest had properly locked the door this event would never have occurred. Instructions for locking the door were provided to the renter before they left home and are also in the ‘House book’ in the apartment.
Based on the fact that candy was taken and a tee shirt was taken, we believe a young person hoping to find a door that wasn’t properly locked, went from door to door pushing on each probably committed the crime.
2. Nothing was done to assist after the theft: The property manager did stay with the guests for over an hour after they reported the problem to assist in whatever way possible. He was able to find a hotel and arranged for a taxi to transport to the hotel.
3. Our company did not contact the quests: We did respond to their concerns a few days after their initial email.
In conclusion we are very sorry for the break-in, however if the guests had followed the written instructions on how to secure the apartment, this problem would never have happened.

California Chris
Orinda, CaliforniaWonderful area, wonderful apartment
Left on 01/05/2012 for a stay in October 2011
My wife and I stayed here for a week in October, 2011. We loved this apartment. It is in a wonderful, central location near the Seine River, The Louvre, excellent restaurants and shopping. The apartment is very clean with everything you need. The space is bright with windows and a view of the courtyard. Be sure to wonder down to Boulevard St Germain for a cafe outside and become part of the scene.
