Trip Advisor and FLIPKEY- check out the reviews. Why pay the same for a rental far from the beach- and up a steep hill? This secluded and private complex has only 20 units and is right on the beach- no walking, no hills and spectacular ocean views!

We are located right on Rathtrevor Beach at Craig Bay, in Parksville and you get three bedrooms for the price of two. Our 3 bedroom, 2 Bath, 1,400 sq ft, condo comfortably sleeps six. Enjoy ocean and beach views from the living and dining rooms, the kitchen, and the two private decks. The beautif...ully decorated condo has everything you need for terrific summer vacations or winter getaways. This child-friendly unit features cathedral ceilings, ceiling fans and a gourmet kitchen as well as a flat screen HDTV with expanded cable and high speed internet access at no extra charge. There is a lock-off 3rd bedroom, included for free.

Rathtrevor Beach is famous for its gently sloping beach and some of the warmest ocean swimming in Canada. Walk on the beach while tides recede over a kilometer of soft sand. Relax by the fire or enjoy outdoor experiences and all that Vancouver Island has to offer.

Most other rental cottages are ten minutes or more from the beach... for the same price you can stay at our Tanglewood condo right on the private beach and right next to Rathtrevor Provincial Park!

Enjoy long walks on the beach at low tide. Wade and swim as the tide returns across the warm sand. BBQ on the deck in the evenings before enjoying campfires on the beach in Tanglewood's private fire rings, or just spread out in our condo and relax by the gas fireplace and read or watch movies on the flat screen TV.

Professional maid service is provided before and after your stay at no charge. Take advantage of free local telephone, and cable and high speed internet service (both wired and wireless). We also provide a nice selection of board games, CDs, videos (more than 50), and paperbacks for your enjoyment, as well as beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler for picnics. (Please note that our unit is non-smoking and pets are not allowed.)

Kitchen:

Looking out on the living room and directly to the ocean beyond, the kitchen

includes: stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, ice maker, dishwasher,

coffee maker, and cooking utensils, as well as service for eight.

Living Room/Dining Room:

Sunny and cozy, with direct sea views, you'll find a couch and recliner with

reading lamps, cable flat screen PLASMA HDTV, DVD/VCR player, CD stereo/radio, phone and answering machine with free local service, cathedral ceiling with remote operated fan and

gas fireplace. The dining room with table for six also has an ocean view.

Master Bedroom:

Queen Bed, ceiling fan, telephone, desk with high speed internet modem, en-suite bathroom with tub and shower, CD player, and alarm clock.

Second Bedroom:

Single over double pine bunk-bed and a sitting area with two chairs, TV, and

DVD/VCR player.

Third Bedroom:

Tucked away on the third level and steps from the panoramic views of the upper

deck it is furnished with a twin daybed with full size twin trundle bed underneath.

Bathrooms:

Two full baths with tub/shower (including en-suite for master). Towels and soap

are provided.

Decks:

Two private decks, one off the dining room which includes gas BBQ and utensils,

and one on the roof with a splendid view to the horizon.

Laundry:

Washer and dryer in separate laundry/utility room.

Parking and storage:

Reserved covered parking for one car is provided underneath the condo.

Numerous guest spaces are available. There is ample private locked storage off

the carport for suitcases, golf clubs, canoes, etc.

THE BEACH! This is why you come here. Enjoy the private beach, uncrowded even in the height of summer. Grill hot dogs or just enjoy a campfire at sunset in the private fire rings. Walk on the immense beach at low tide, or swim just feet from condo at high tide. There is no beach like it.Read more

  The condo was more than we expected. Every amenity you could want was there for you to use. The beach views from the living and dining rooms were beautiful. The beds and baths were perfect. Two couples shared the condo and we had lots of room. So much better than a resort! So glad we found this rental. It was perfect! Thanks to the owners for maintaining the property and allowing us to spend time in their home away from home.

  What more can we say, the view from the condo was stunning, the location was brilliant , a mere few steps from the beach, which when the tide receeded left a vast expanse of sand to explore. Rathtrevor Park again only moments away, Parksville a short drive away with all the shops and restaurants you need. The accomodation had everything you would require, plus being clean and spacious. Nancy and Brian have thought of everything including a book with ideas for outings, restaurant/takeaway ideas, dvd's and paperbacks. Nothing had been overlooked, we had a wonderful holiday and would definitely return again

  Perfect spot for famiy get together or time with the grandchildr

  We have rented #9 at Tanglewood for many summers, it is our special time with the grandchildren and I can't think of a more perfect spot.
  It is right on the beach so there is no problem with a long hike to the beachfront with all the toys the grandchildren want to play with! This is a feature which not many locations have on Parksville beach, most have quite a hike down to the actual beach.
  The beach is spectacular, not many places like it in the world, the tide goes out so far and leaves miles of beautiful,,safe beach for the kids to play on and as the tide comes in each day the sand warms the water to a temperture you can actually swim in!
  The unit is very well equiped and wonderfully maintained.You have everything you need to cook full meals if that is your preference.
  The view from the front window and decks is of the beautiful oceanfront.
  The beds are all very comfortable and set up for adults and children so the unit works well for families.
  Nancy has even put a TV and DVD in the kids bedroom so adults can have some quite time and kids can watch a movie or play video games.
  We look forward to our stay at # 9 Tanglewood and would highly recommend it to others.

  This was our 5th summer vacation at #9. The location is perfect with the beach practically right in front of the condo and the provincial park right next door. Convenient parking right under the unit and a storage crawlspace in the parking area for beach toys, beach chairs, umbrellas. A short walk up the stairs to the condo unit with views of the beach from the dining room and living room. The unit is well equipped with lots of dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, washer, drier, blankets, pillows, Wifi, Cable TV, etc. You can make all of your meals here if you want but there are plenty of good restaurants in the area as well.. There is a deck just off the dining room with a propane BBQ and small table/chairs. For the real stunning views, however, you need to go to the rooftop deck which is larger and a great place for a glass of wine after the kids are put to bed.. The unit has lots of windows that open to let the sea breeze keep you nice and cool and a fireplace to keep you warm (we travel in July so we've never used it or the regular heating).
  
  The beach is awesome. Terrific for children of all ages. When the tide is out, there are little shallow puddles full of sand crabs (tiny, the size of a quarter or a loonie) and sand dollars. You can walk a long way to the actual water or pick your own spot and start digging a sand castle. The beach is huge so it's easy to pick a private spot to spend your day. When the tide comes in, the warm sand heats up the water making for an enjoyable soak. A 10 minute walk through the provincial park will take you to the Nature House where at 2:30 each afternoon, there is a childrens program called "Gerry's Rangers" which our little one refuses to miss.
  
  I can't really think of anything we dislike. We've walked or driven through the various condos and timeshares along the beach and are always glad we chose #9. The others are either not as nice, or too far away from the beach. The owners also stay at #9 for their vacations and replace anything that has been broken or is in need of repair. A cleaning service comes in after each stay so there is always lots of detergent, coffee filters, etc.
  
  We highly recommend #9 for your family vacation!

  Perfect getaway! The accommodations are as good as home. The condo is clean, comfortable and spacious. The view from both decks is spectactular. Easy access to the beach and Rathtrevor park for cycling.

  Delightful holiday, beautiful spot, loved the location

  We stayed at this property in May 2009. We were 4 adults. The location is outstanding, located at the end of a road, facing the magnificent Rathtrevor Beach. This condo is well equiped with everything to make your stay inviting and comfortable. There are 3 bedrooms, we only booked for using 2 so the rate was lower than for using 3. There are a couple of balconies facing the beach and lots of very nice living space. There are 2 bathrooms, laundry facilities, fireplace, well stocked kitchen, Cable tv, dvd's and videos. This is a private complex that is well managed and fairly quiet. You will need a car for this location. It is more than a walking distance to Parksville, but I cannot imagine someone planning of touring around not having a car. We would rent this again.

  The owner/managers were easily accessible and good to deal with. The home is bright, spacious with beatiful views of the ocean. Excellent beach lolcation, forest walks. Easy access to shopping and restaurants. What we liked the best is the home itself and beach location. What we disliked was the stairs to get to the unit ( particularly for older folks like us!) Would definitely recommend to friends and would go back again ourselves.
