Description

Tom's Barn and Douglas's Barn are our two luxury holiday rentals for couples, the perfect romantic holiday cottage for two. They have been imaginatively converted from ancient limestone farm buildings next door to our own (the owners' ) house in the Derbyshire Peak District. Both our stylish converted barns have a Visit England Five Star grading, and a Visit England Gold Award for excellence.

Idyllically situated on the edge of the traditional rural village of Parwich, our self-catering holiday accommodation lies next to beautiful open countryside with wonderful walking in every direction, yet only a few minutes walk away.from the heart of the village with its own traditional village pub and small shop. Chatsworth House, historic home of the Dukes of Devonshire, is half an hour's drive away, as are the ancient market towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne and Buxton.

Our luxury vacation rental is superbly warm and comfortable, fully equipped with everything you might need. You can forget all about the outside world when you are here. In Tom's Barn there is a log burner so you can sit back in a comfy sofa and toast yourself in front of the fire in the high-ceilinged sitting room. The roof reaches the rafters and there are fun paintings by our Australian son-in-law on the high walls.

Douglas's Barn next door is much more contemporary, with top quality equipment and a smart remote-controlled fire set in the wall. Both barns have a fully equipped kitchen and spa bath in their ensuite bathrooms; Tom's is a rather special deep two-seater whirlpool bath while Douglas's is more spacious with a power shower overhead.

We accept well-behaved dogs in Tom's Barn. We the owners live next door. We never interfere, but it does mean we are there to help if we are needed.

Please note we only sleep two people (in one king-size bed). Neither barn is suitable for children or any adult that cannot manage stairs. The comfort, peace and tranquillity is just perfect for everyone else!

We tend to get booked up very far in advance, so do please check our availability before you get too excited about coming! It is best to plan ahead.

We are so glad you enjoyed yourselves so much again - we loved seeing you both and your two beautiful - and beautifully behaved - dogs. (Sorry about the lack of an enclosed garden. We always like to react to any suggestions for improvements that our guests mention but we can't easily do anything about that - all we can do is be sure dog-owners understand the situation beforehand.)

How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Mrs (the owner) a message.

If Mrs (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
