Town: Surrounded by lush green countryside, Parwich is a charming village which dates back to Saxon times. It has a picturesque old church, village green, a country pub and a village hall. The area is a delight for cyclists and walkers, with the nearby Manifold Trail, a tarmac path that follows the old Leek to Manifold light railway, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside. The route has been open since the 1930s, when the railway closed, and was probably the first disused railway to be utilised in this way. Nearby are the lovely villages of Alstonefield, Ilam and Brassington, and activities such as golf, horse riding and sailing are all within a seven mile radius. Chatsworth House and Carsington Waters are also close by, making Parwich a great base for a family holiday.

Superb cottage with real quirkiness. Everything you could want and having logs on site for purchase an added bonus. Local pub is fantastic and the local people so friendly! Cannot fault any aspect of our stay and would highly recommend to friends and family.

This spacious house provides a convenient base for exploring the Peak District and visiting alton Towers. The games room was a bonus which the whole family enjoyed and entertained the childern (11,12 and 14 years)happily as did the huge TV.
When we return to this area it would certainly be our first choice for accomodation.

Christmas in The Roost

Stayed in the flat over Xmas 2010 with a 6 year old and Grandparents too. We had up to 6 people in there and still had ample room.
Have to point out that the major attractions in this area are all closed over winter, so we didn't go out much. Luckliy we'd bought a Wii for Xmas so that was our main source of entertainment.
Enjoyed our stay and wanted for nothing. Owners very friendly and provided an excellent friendly service throughout.
The flat itself is over a disused shop and the property incorporates a garage converted into a games room. This was very well used, despite it being cold in there. We just put coats on!
Overall the flat well furnished and equipped, and was decorated tastefully for Xmas.
Would use the place again as a base to go to places like alton Towers, Gullivers Kingdom and Chatsworth in the summer, or at least not out of season.
Parwich itself was quiet and quaint, especially in the snow. Pub is small and doubles up as a local shop. Small park for kids. Icing on the cake though was hearing the nearby church bells chime at mignight on Xmas Eve, for about 20 minutes!

A lovely accomodation quite Roomy with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and all on the first floor so our liitle boy loved the hide and seek aspect! the games room downstairs was a real nice touch and the whole place had a real homely feel, shame the weather was to warm to light the fire. And Jason and Emma could not have been more welcoming on our arrival all adding to a very relaxing week.

Holiday cottage was very comfy and well equiped Only one complaint and that is you cannot get a mobile phone signal at this property and as there was no land line it could be a problem in an emergency. Therefore would not use this property again.

Very good accommodation in a lovely village. Games room was perfect for the kids and was well used.
Only downside was lack of outside space.
Weekend in Parwich

We had a lovely stay in this gorgeous house. The village is beautiful and we even had snow on our winter weekend break! The owner was very helpful on our arrival. the house was lovely and warm as it has a wood burning stove. the accomodation was perfect for our two families and the games room downstairs - although cold - proved to be a winner for our children (who clearly don't feel the cold if they're having a good time!) I would recommend this property to anyone and would definately consider going back.
