As described by a recent guest of Rose Bowl Vacation Rentals, "The truly unexpected bonus was the neighborhood. It's in the foothills of the mountains. There is a single access road, so it's like a little oasis. It has lots of tall, shady trees. It's the kind of place where people wave and say hello to everyone who passes by. People stop and chat. Lots of people have dogs, and they walk them in the middle of the street (there is only local traffic, and because it's a small neighborhood, there's not much). So it is not a "city" feeling at all, even though you are just a few minutes from the 210 freeway. It is a short drive up the hill to get there, but it's worth it. I went for a walk in the mountains almost every day (5-7 min up the street and you are on a network of trails in the San Gabriel mtns, with views of downtown LA."

I really enjoyed my stay at this relaxing spot far removed from the din of the city below yet close to freeways and bustling old town Pasadena. Casa aralia had everything my fiancé could want as we sipped our wine on the lush patio after a busy day running around. We were even able to find the trail to Prieto Canyon and were rewarded with a delightful hike. Very romantic.
