Description from the manager

‘On the Vine” a beautiful 1890 downtown Victorian has undergone an entire renovation completed in 2012, and it redefines what lodging in Paso Robles, CA. can be. The home has been lovingly restored with some of the original hardwood floors, imported European

chandeliers throughout the home and stained glass windows gracing the front of the home. The home has been decorated in a relaxed design with a mix of Restoration Hardware meets Paris Flea market. The yard has been landscaped to enhance the beauty of this

new burgeoning wine country with some of the trees dating back to the 1890’s when the house was originally built. ‘...Read more

We received very friendly and helpful service- extremely happy with the home, can't wait to go back! Absolutely stunning, the pictures just can't show the character of this place! The location was perfect, close to town, yet on a quiet street. The wine tasting here is fantastic, and the restaurants are too- We want to come back in the fall, the only drawback of our trip was the 100 degree weather- This place is a real deal!

      Comfortable, Elegant & great location!

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in September 2012

I hosted a wine tasting/birthday weekend with 8 adults. The house is very spacious and super clean, the decor was completely updated and all bathrooms renovated. Very thoughtful European design. We took advantage of the backyard, had dinner and wine around the campfire. We were low key, perhaps laughing a bit too loud and the neighbors called the cops of us. Kinda strange, but I guess I could understand if I lived next to a vacation home with revolving families in and out. The kitchen was amazing with high end appliances, including a Thermador Oven.

The description of the home "On the Vine" says it includes bikes for riding into town. This was one of the amenities we had planned on using, but when we arrived there were no bicycles (?)

The only other issue that would be important to mention is the upstairs temperature. We were there in early September, and there were instructions to open the skylights to allow for the hot air to escape. Even after doing this, the upstairs was unbearably hot for the few nights we were there. Downstairs was nice and cool, but I felt awful for my guests, as they were uncomfortably hot in the rooms upstairs.

We would definitely like to be returning customers, but only during the cooler months.

Perfect Spot to Enjoy Wine Country

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012

My husband and two other couples stayed at "On the Vine" and used it as our headquarters for our visit to the Paso wine country. From the moment we walked in until the time we left, we were completely satisfied and happy with the a beautiful home. Everything was perfect: up-to-date, modern kitchen; sumptuous linens; spotless surroundings; inviting backyard; beautiful bedrooms - all enveloped in a charming setting. Whenever I'm the person who arranges lodging for others, I'm always a little nervous that it won't live up to expectations, but "On the Vine" far exceeded our hopes. We'll definitely stay there again. I can't rate this home and our experience highly enough.

      Perfect!

Left on 11/06/2012 for a stay in July 2012

Four couples stayed here for a weekend to attend a friend's wedding. The location, amenities, and style of the house was perfect. We were so glad we opted for this vacation rental instead of staying at the over-priced hotels in the area. The beds were excellent. The house has been beautifully restored, and I would definitely hire whoever did the decorating!

Easy walk into town for restaurants and bars, but far enough away that you can enjoy the firepit and backyard in peace.

Only suggestion is that in the hot summers, the two upstairs bedrooms get pretty warm even with the a/C on. To be expected with an older home, and they do provide fans.
