The owners were very friendly & helpful. The lodge was very clean & comfortable but was lacking a shower in the bathroom. Pateley Bridge is a lovely little town which you could walk to quite easily by the river, other than that you need a car to get about. We certainly enjoyed the peace and quiet with our only neighbours being sheep & rabbits. Would certainly like to return some day.

Peaceful location with an abundance of wildlife
Left on 11/11/2010 for a stay in September 2010 | Mr & Mrs B
Ashfold Cottage is situated at the end of a small caravan park. There is an abundance of wildlife in the area. It is within easy access to many tourist attractions with Pately Bridge being the closest. The chalet is well equipped and comfortable. The owners are nearby and available should you have any queries and were very helpful when we ran out of gas. If there was anything we would add/change it would be a proper shower over the bath and oil/storage radiators. Although we had some sunny days it was a bit nippy in the morning and evening and the bathroom in particularly wasn't very warm first and last thing in the day. Although plug in heaters were available we felt oil fired heating or storage heaters might provide more adequate heating during chilly times. Overall, however, we were satisfied with the accommodation which is surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty and we would happily stay there again.
Very isolated but very peaceful

The cottage was very comfortable and we enjoyed the peaceful location, but felt rather isolated as there was nobody else for some distance and as older people we would have liked to have more contact with others.
