The home was clean and very homey and very spacious. The setting was wonderful with the dock and the ocean just a short walk away. The home is a place I will come back to. My only complaint was the fish were not biting.

Athens, TNA complete vacation experience: perfect location, plenty of spac
Left on 04/09/2013 for a stay in March 2013
At first look at the pics above, it seems Sullivan is just a small, older house that will suffice for a more affordable get-away at Pawleys. So it was a pleasant suprise upon arrival, when we discovered it was much more. The house is spacious w/ large kitchen, dining and living room areas. The pics don't necessarily do these spaces justice because they are all part of one open area on the only floor-but it is a large area, beautifully overlooking the creek and marsh, wonderful for a good size group to enjoy time when not out on some adventure at Pawleys. The bedrooms are also pretty spacious, and two have access to front porch. (The twin beds are in same room with laundry- in case that's a negative for anyone.) The dock is in prime location for boating out into the inlet/ocean, and nearby plenty of smaller waterways wind into the marsh (great for fishing or kayaking/birdwatching). The dock has a great covered spot to sit, sink with running water to clean fish if fishing, and a great floating landing to launch boats from.
It takes maybe 5 min to walk from the house to the public beach access and out onto the beach - so obviously this is a plus too.
The Lachicotte company was super easy to do business with, and they helped make the stay a great one.
"Pawleys Kayaks" (pawleyskayaks.com) is a terrific place to rent kayaks from and you get 10% off if renting through Lachicotte. They were great, flexible w/ drop off and pickup times, and just neat people to be around.
Also a nice suprise to find the kitchen stocked with everything necessary (at least for us) for cooking/serving. I have stayed at rentals before that came with bare minimum of kitchen items. Sullivan even had a waffle-maker!
Downsides: only way into house is by stairs, so maybe difficult for disabled or older. Position of floating dock causes it to lay slanted at low-tide: be cautious with young kids.
Overall, a great place to stay, and at quite a bargain for what you'll enjoy there. -

What a lovely and comfortable home! The views from the back deck of the creek and the setting sun were fabulous. The kitchen is so well equipped, that it is a chef's dream. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds. The fact that there are so many seating areas means you never get a crowded feeling. We just loved the whole vacation. The Sullivans have a great house.

louisville, kylove the location, but the house needs work.

this was our second straight year at the sullivan. when we got there we were sorry to see the dilapidated and multi-stained carpeting still on the main living area. this is way overdue- we had to call for a repairman for the t v that wouldn't work-- it had to be replaced---during our stay we killed several big roach like insects and saw some big black spiders too --- also, the exterior needs much work: painting, fencing , sliding glass doors in front of house bedrooms barely work. the house is a wonderful spot but seems to need more tlc than it is getting--even with these disappointments, we had an enjoyable time--we are low impact people who love to watch the birds on the creek and the sunsets--we have signed on for two weeks next year-- regards, fred holden

This is a great cottage. It comfortably sleeps three or four couples. We love being on the creek with a boat ramp and a floating dock.
I do have a few suggestions that would make it even better.
1. Close in the outside shower.
2. Add a second refrigerator.
3. Put blinds or shades on the porch. -

GreenvilleGot to be one of the best houses on the island!

We have stayed at Sullivans about 8 times. So wonderful to be on the creek, to fish, crab, watch "activity" on the water and the awesome sunsets from our back deck each evening. The house is just set up (designed) so well for 4 couples. Twin beds are one of the best in the house so don't discount this house for that reason. It's like 'coming home'. Lachicotte doing a nice job with this rental.

Very accomodating home with comfortable living area and roomy kitchen. We loved the shared neighbor beach access and the creek dock was perfect for the kids fishing.
