The Litchfield beach and Dieter Realty have been our choice for 30 years. The beach and the company have never disappointed us. We have had great service and wonderful vacations every time.
This year the beautiful landscaping at McCauley added to our pleasure every day. The McCauley house is a lovely, well-appointed property. It has large pristine living areas with comfortable furniture. Every bedroom is nicely decorated, centrally climate-controlled and easily available to living areas... no "downstairs stepsister bedrooms" in this home. We have visited NLB since the 1970s nearly every year. We normally rent several houses each year from Dunes but Dieter is fine.
The biggest complaint I have at Mcauley is the rollout garbage container was missing. Garbage was left form the previous week and was rotting and strewn around by raccoons. I meant to call you that we but didnt.

Dieter's service was great. We really like the location and the way the house is laid out.
It needs a little "spiffing up". The kitchen pantry wasn't clean,the cupboards (especially where the staples were kept) were dirty and the under-sink area was messy and dirty. There was also only one trash barrel available when we were there. The screening on the porch had a couple of holes in it and was obviously weak and in need of replacement. Update since you stay in 2009 - the owners have upgraded the kitchen, recovered much of the living room furniture, placed new carpet in most of the upstairs and refinished the hardwood floors. We hope that you will be back to enjoy!

McCauley provides a wonderful space to unify and bring your group together and in touch with nature. The open balcony to all the second floor rooms and the home's back wall of windows offers a tie to the ocean that is quite unique for everyone. The spacious two-story great room that opens into the kitchen area and porches is a perfect community space for vacationing families and friends!
The porch is so great for a hammock, we went and bought our own to use during the week.
Landscaping provides large, private parking spaces that are separated from the road and provides nice privacy.
The home is slightly older than some but has been well-maintained and was very clean. -

The McCauley is a gorgeous oceanfront home. It is furnished comfortably with plenty of room for all. We had eleven, and didn't lack for anything, even in the kitchen.
We enjoyed the view, the beach, the house, and the area. We love that section of beach, and come as often as we can.
The only drawback that we found was a particularly strong mildew smell. But having experience with that problem, I know it can be corrected and controlled.
