On arriving at Ladywell Barn, we found it very clean & tidy with all the facilities we required plus a few extras to welcome us. The property is beautifully appointed with excellent fixtures and fittings and we find it extremely comfortable. The location is excellent for the beautiful walks available in the area plus is close to many good eating establishments if required. We will definitely return again as we are more than satisfied with all aspects of the property.

Lovely cottage with wonderful views over the fields. It is very comfortable and has all you could wish for.The welcome pack of goodies was most appreciated. There are lots of places to visit nearby and walks which start from the doorstep. The local shops and pubs are just a short walk away. The owners live next door which gives a sense of security and are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend the cottage to anyone who wanted a quiet and peaceful location.

Just returned from an easter break away in Baslow staying at Ladywell Barn. This two bed cottage is an excellant base for walking in the peak district. It is very cosy and comfortable with under floor heating and plenty of room for relaxing after a days walking. The bedrooms are very spacious and you have two bathrooms one upstairs and one down which is ideal when you have four adults staying. The kitchen is very well equipped and we found cooking in here very easy.Would certainly go back it was like being at home.
Nearby in baslow there are three pubs if you fancy eating out, would highly recommend the Devonshire arms.Great service and excellent food at reasonable prices.

Immaculately presented barn conversion in a lovely location. It was super being able to sit in the garden having lunch with beautiful views of the countryside whilst watching our two daughters 5 and 2 playing happily. We also had a super walk from the cottage with amazing views of the countryside around Chatsworth. Chatsworth farm shop was nearby which was great to get meat, fruit and veg from. Had a very nice meal at the devonshire arms in baslow too, very family friendly. The kitchen and both bathrooms were very stylish, settees and beds very comfy, and the whole house was very clean. Fab underfloor heating so we were never cold! Plenty of room to store luggage; cupboards by the front foot for shoes and coats were very useful. Complimentary essentials such as bread and milk etc when we arrived was very thoughtful too. The owner had thought of everything! Perfect size for a family of 4 and a very happy holiday. We will definitely be recommending to family and friends and would love to return in the future.

Left on 02/02/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Stayed here with our children (8&9) & dog on a snowy weekend in January. The barn was very well presented & warm (the bread & milk left for us was a nice touch). It is tastefully furnished (especially the bathrooms & kitchen) & well equipped. The underfloor heating is very effective. The garden was fully enclosed, so good for the dog & had amazing views. Sledging in the field at the back was a real bonus!
Baslow is a lovely village, the barn is in a quiet area & you can walk to the pubs, restaurants & shops. We ate in the Devonshire arms, Rutland arms ( both allow dogs) & Wheatsheaf - Devonshire was the best.
The walks from the door are great & we were able to walk to Chatsworth. The owners are very welcoming & helpful. This really is a lovely area & we will be returning! -

Left on 01/07/2013 for a stay in December 2012
My standards are exceptionally high when it comes to holiday cottages and this met and exceeded every one of them!
We stayed here for Christmas. The location is superb. we were able to walk out our front door and do some great runs and walks in all directions, my favourite being to do up onto Baslow edge. In the small village we wanted for nothing but i certainly recommend the Devonshire arms for food and drinks. They are dog friendly as is the cottage and sitting in front of the fire after a long walk with a mulled wine was superb. The cottage is excellent. Its clean, modern comfortable and the underfloor heating is superb. We loved it so much have booked it for next year and going back in spring and summer. -

Left on 11/14/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We arrived to find an immaculately clean cottage, warm and cosy. It is located in a lovely village setting, not far from Chatsworth house and the charming village of Bakewell. We loved the fact that, being central to the Peaks, we could explore all of the surrounding area in a relatively short time. Highlights we visited were the Chatsworth stately home and the Blue John Cavern at Castleton. We really loved driving through all over the Peak District. It is ideal walking country, too!

Left on 10/05/2012 for a stay in October 2012
The Barn was an excellent base for a walking holiday. Also there are so many sights of interest around - Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Eyam to name but a few. Loads of places to eat if you want to go out - we recommend Rowleys (pricey but v. good), The Wheatsheaf and El Lupo all within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay, everything was clean and comfortable and it was lovely to be able to look out at night from the bedroom skylight and see the stars! Recommended.

Ladywell Barn is a tasteful and thoughtfully designed property with great views and privacy. We stayed nearly a week and found the location ideal to explore the Peake district with good eating-out options on the doorstep. Also, being able to go out the front door and you can enjoy walks with great views is a bonus too. We can thoroughly recommend Ladywell Barn and its luxury experience.

Axminster, DevonA real home-from-home property in a wonderful location
Left on 09/13/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Ladywell Barn is a real find. It is exceptionally well presented being spotlessly clean with luxury fittings and fixtures. A great deal of thought has gone into the design and layout together with the internal fixtures. It was a real treat to find the amount of attention to detail provided by Hazel down to the washing up liquid, loo rolls, welcome pack, a frying pan which did not have a bow in the middle and even decent wine glasses which were put to good use while sitting in the garden after a good walk on the hills, where we sat and enjoyed the stunning view. Certainly a delightful place to stay and we look forward to a return visit in due course.

Very impressive accommodation in Baslow. The decor was lovely and everything was sparkly and clean. We felt immediately relaxed on arrival and the milk, butter and bread were very welcome goodies. Ladywell Barn is ideal for dog owners as there is an enclosed garden and also a nice walk straight from the door. Chatsworth House and Bakewell are very close and convenient to get to from here too.

A very clean and comfortable cottage in a great location.Under floor heating throughout and all mod cons.
A welcome pack and fresh flowers on arrival was a lovely thought by the owner who was also very friendly.
We had two dogs who were very safe in the enclosed back garden from which we had uninterrupted views of the wonderful countryside. A short distance to Chatsworth. -

Stayed at this lovely barn when we visited Chatsworth House which is close by. It has plenty of charm and is presented to a good standard. You will find open beams and quality facilities - what more could you ask for! The garden backs onto a field of friendly sheep and amazing views. Very friendly and helpful owners. Look out for Hazel's lovely artwork that adorns the rooms!

Ladywell Barn is a delightful, character cottage which has been renovated and equipped to a very high standard. It is an extremely pleasant and comfortable place to stay.
There are magnificent views from the back of the property and it is immediately adjacent to excellent walks.
The owners are exceptionally helpful and friendly and do everything they can, including the provision of a well thought out welcome pack, to make visitors feel at home.
It would, indeed, be hard to find a better holiday property. -

Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We've just returned home from a short stay at Ladywell Barn. We could only get away for 3 nights during the school Easter break so were very fortunate to find something available. We've been to the Peaks many times before, but loved the location of Ladywell Barn - within walking distance of Baslow (with plenty of choice for eating out) but in a quiet location with fantastic views from the back of the property. We enjoyed being able to walk straight from the cottage up to Baslow Edge and beyond; Chatsworth is close by. The cottage was well furnished and had everything we needed - milk, tea/coffee and bread/butter provided for our arrival, but also dishwasher tablets/washing-up liquid and toilet rolls. We just wished we could have stayed longer!

Left on 04/10/2012 for a stay in April 2012
I stumbled across Ladywell Barn when frantically trying to book a last minute Easter break with friends. I was somewhat reserved as the pictures on the website werenât as inviting as other properties but with accommodation being rapidly snapped up I committed. We couldnât believe our luck when we arrived; cosy, well furnished, brilliant location and with extremely accommodating owners, Ladywell Barn was a true âfindâ and far beyond what we expected. Though the Easter weekend weather didnât surprise us, we had a superb break and Ladywell was the perfect retreat when the puddles got too deep. I couldnât recommend the property highly enough. Thank you Hazel and see you soon.

We have stayed in all of Hazel's cottages in the Peak District over the years. Ladywell Barn is brilliantly situated, well appointed and very comfortable. The welcome packs are always appreciated - especially being able to make a cup of tea on arrival without going to the shops. Baslow is a lovely village too and you can go on long walks without needing a car.

Have stayed in 3 cottages this year & this one was certainly the best!! My husband said it was like being at home with all the extra comforts. Please dont take all the hedge out in the back garden, when you extend the garden area, lots of small birds were feeding in there which was lovely to watch. we shall return & have recommended you to others. To say you allow pets, you couldnt tell, probably because you had no carpets
