This is a stunning four bedroom villa set in its own 2,350m2 [25,000 sq ft] landscaped garden surrounding a large free-form swimming pool. It is built as a series of Balinese-inspired modern pavilions set within the tropical garden. The central living area is open, overlooking the pool & gardens and houses a comfortable lounge, TV area (with 42" LED surround sound TV) and a dining room for eight people, served by a fully equipped Western-style kitchen.

Taman Caliandra seemed like it might be too good to be true, but it lived up to our expectations. The facilities are wonderful and the staff really took care of us.
I was there with my wife, my brother and sister in law and their 8 month old son. The house was perfect to come back to after going to the beach every day, the 8 month old especially appreciated a quick dip in the pool. We really lucked out, for 4 out of 5 of us this was our first trip to Bali, we knew we didn't want to be near Kuta but we still wanted to experience different beaches and get a lot of surf in. Because of our little one this was a great home base, the house was away from any noisy action and a wonderful retreat for all of us.
If you intend on venturing out think through how you would want to do transportation. We did not have a car and the housing staff was always around to get us a taxi. After a few days we learned to arrange a ride back with the taxi that took us to the beach by giving him a specific time, it saves the hassle of haggling with a taxi driver at the beach.
The food the staff cooked for us was great and healthy every time.
Make sure you see the temple at Uluwata. -

The villa was great and the staff very helpful. We loved the dishes they cooked for us and the way they helped us with booking restaurants, giving tips and ordering taxis and vans to help us around the island.
The only negative comment was the internet. In this day and age there should be a continuous connection, we were 9 adults and kids in total (with each having at least one device working on interent) and we had to buy (very expensive!!)internet cards everyday and the card would be empty within one hour. We couldnt even be logged on with a few people at the same time. For a villa in this price segment it is vital to have decent internet. We could not do any work from the villa and had to go to places with free wifi. This was a big disappointment, as the places we had been before all had wifi without any problems.Response from Colin and Claire C - 05/06/2013

We are sorry to learn of your inconvenience with the internet and share your concern as it is, sadly, extremely expensive in Bali for what can only be described as a pedestrian service compared to the standards enjoyed in more developed countries!
However, we have taken your comments on board and are now arranging to install a new ‘always on’ system that does not require vouchers and will be free to our future guests. We believe that this will overcome the problems you encountered.

We had a wonderful stay at Taman Caliandra, and would recommend it whole heartedly. The staff were friendly and competent, and the amenities first-rate.
The only minor issue for us was the time wasted in traffic. For that reason we found it made sense to only leave the property about every other day. The property is ideally suited to those looking for tranquility and relaxation. If a more active vacation is envisioned one would probably be better off looking for a more central location.
We were told that new road facilities currently under construction are expected to alleviate the congestion. Let's hope they're right.

My wife and 3 girls and my mate, his wife and 2 girls had a fantastic week at Taman Caliandra. The villa was even better than it looks in the photos and easily accommodated all of us in luxury. All of the rooms were clean and spacious with awesome en suites. The kids loved the huge pool( adults as well). The villa has beautiful well kept gardens with distant sea views and the angle it is built takes advantage of the cooling trade winds. The entertainment system was great too! With a large flat screen TV and surround sound. Also you can plug your iPod in and there are satellite speakers all around the dining/lounge room. To top it off the staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. They just seem to magically appear when you needed something. The food was really good at the Villa but if you are looking for something a bit different the Thai seafood warung on the corner of Jalan Belimbingsari(only a 10 min walk) is amazing and cheap. I read some reviews criticizing the location but thats why i picked it. Its very quiet but only 500m away there are some restaurants and a supermaket and lots of small shops. Its only about 15 mins to the best surf beaches (and most scenic) in Bali. And last of all, but not least, the owners Colin and Claire were so easy to deal with. They answered all of my 101 questions promptly and even included extra info. Over all it was awesome !!

Wow! What an amazing place to spend our honeymoon!
Claire was so helpful when enquiring about their beautiful villa in Bali. The whole experiennce was beyond our expectations. We were overwhelmed by the beauty of the villa and would love to go back every year if we could!! Everything is so well organised and we were looked after from the minute we got off the plain. The staff at the villa (Iluh, Iluh & Wayan) were absolutely gorgeous people! We were so comfortable in their presence and have made great friends! They sort everything for you, from meals, shopping, organising trips and taught us lots of Balinese! and Iluh was even kind enough to give us some traditional Balinese cooking lessons (yum!) :) We were made to feel so special and were treated like family. We would recommend Taman Caliandra to anyone thinking of visiting Bali!! Thank you to Colin & Claire for the use of your villa and Suksma to our new friends Iluh & family, Iluh & Wayan!x -

Our family had the best time we have experienced in our lifes so far. Iluh and staff are the most helpful, kindest, friendliest and beautiful people we have ever met. Wayan, Putin, gede and the security guys were also wonderful. I wanted to bring them all home. We will definitely be returning. Please pass on this message to Iluh and wish her koman all the best with there up coming birth. Your villa will be recommended to all our friends. It was nice to go into kuta but just so lovely and peaceful to return back to the villa at night. We also loved the Spanish restaurant and spent a few nights there including New Years . We really enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Villa Taman Caliandra. It's secluded and quiet but within easy reach of any activities you may want to do. Even with the setting so beautiful, the icing on the cake for us was the lovely staff and the quiet way they went about making our stay as enjoyable as possible. Nothing seems too much trouble for them. If you want to experience Balinese hospitality and enjoy a relaxing holiday, we thoroughly recommend this place. We will enjoy returning. Thanks to all. R & M

We stayed at the villa with some family and friends to attend our son's wedding in Iluwatu. This was a perfect location as it was only 10 mins away and the price was right. It was also lovely to be away from the hussle and bussle of Kuta but only 20 mins away by car. The house staff, Iluh, Iluh and Wayan, were marvelous. They looked after all our needs with a minimum of fuss. We enjoyed coming home everyday to a swim in the pool and a delicious meal cooked by Iluh. We would love to stay there again on a return visit to Bali.

Taman Caliandra is the best villa we have ever stayed in! On arrival we were blown away by the beautiful view of pool and lush gardens and by the layout of the buildings... perfect for our family group (basically young adults and Mum and Dad). Each one of us immediately relaxed.
Initially we were concerned that we'd be too far from Kuta Beach, however all of us agreed that the distance was actually a positive. Coming home was like returning to our own little oasis. The staff were friendly, helpful and respectful. They catered for us with creativity and skill, eager to prepare food that we would appreciate, which we most certainly did, and for a fraction of the cost we'd pay at home. Iluh, Iluh and Wayan went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. When we left, we felt a real sense of loss and can't wait to return... which we most certainly will. Taman Caliandra was even more beautiful than the photos on the website. It truly is a paradise.

The villa is absolutely gorgeous and the surroundings idylic. The staff were very helpful, especially Ilu who was so welcoming and friendly. After many years of renting a villa in Indonesia, we can finally say we found the first place we can say, we would love to come back to.
The house is simply gorgeous and garden beautiful. We are reluctant in sharing this information for pure selfish reasons, as this place should be secret!!
The owners do not live in Indonesia, but surely are keeping an active eye on the property.
The staff in the villa was sweet, and the only (very small) downside was the limit of the food selection, but what they made was tasty and good, for the rest we cannot say anything apart from 'we will be back' -

This april we’ve spent 10 days at the Villa Taman Kaliandra. Our group included me, my wife, our son, his wife and our grand daughter in age 2 years ( for her security special fence was installed when we arrived).Beautiful and comfortable villa with a large beautiful garden, huge swimming pool suitable as well for children as for adults. Especially it should be mentioned staff ( Ilu, Ilu, Vayan, etc.) who have been helpful and unobtrusive at the same time. Villa was very clean, food was very tasty (especially we wish to note the Ilu’s tiramisu).
The car with driver ( special thanks to our driver Vayan) compensated for remote location of the villa.
During our stay we faced only two problems – the first is very slow internet (this is a problem in Bali, in many places), and the second – the water in the pool in rainy days was not clear enough.
Befor we arrived we received detailed instructions from the owners, that was very helpful for planning our holiday, thanks to Colin and Clare.
We are looking forward come back again soon. We would like to recommend this villa who wants to take .a break from the hustle and bustle and to relax. Many thanks to the owners and the staff,

We have just returned form a glorious weeks holiday at Taman Caliandra, perfect for our 2 families. All the staff are absolute angels, nothing is too much trouble. I celebrated my birthday whilst there and was made to feel very special indeed, with chef Nyomen making a delicious seafood dinner. The pictures dont do justice to this fantastic villa, cant wait to return. Thank you all at Villa Taman Caliandra for making our holiday so special, treasured memories.

The Villa was ideal for us, our children, their spouses and our two young grandchildren. Everyone loved the pool. The villa staff were helpful, gracious, efficient and very nice. We had most of our meals at the villa and can highly recommend the food.

We had an overall wonderful time. The staff were fantastic and were always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. The chef cooked our dinner for us every night and the standard was excellent. Home is beautifully decorated and from our brief stay in Bali, is in keeping with the local style. Bedrooms cleaned and beds made and turned back each day, it was like being in your own private hotel.The quiet rural location allows for a private relaxing stay, with Kuta and Denpasar not that far away. The pool was fantastically warm, and we couldn't keep our daughter out, however the pool treatment turned small bits of her blonde hair slightly green. So put on some hair protection or don't spend all day submersed in the pool! The elephant park in Taro was a must see, you get right up close and the ride was definitely worth experiencing.

I spent two glorious weeks at Taman Caliandra and would say it is the best holiday I have ever had; so much so that I am returning for two weeks in September this year. Everything about the accommodation was luxurious and the staff were very attentive but not over-powering. The island of Bali is beautiful with luxurious plants and flowers everywhere. After a day of exploring it was lovely to relax by the pool and have drinks brought to me. It was possible to have a massage in the garden by a masseuse who came at times to suit me. I would highly recommend a holiday at Taman Caliandra.

Taken by my husband as a surprise birthday treat, we found Taman Caliandra to be an exotic retreat.
From the first step onto the property you could tell this was something very special.
The gardens and pool area are stunning and every
room is tastefully furnished, with the balinese living and bedroom areas being particularly luxurious.
The outside bathing area in the master bedroom was a particular favourite for me.
The discreet staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.
Everything you could possibly need to make your holiday memorable was at hand.
From information about local restaurants and recommended tours to board games and music for those who simply want to chill by the pool.
We had a wonderful holiday in Bali and staying at Taman Caliandra made it even more memorable..

Taman Caliandra was the perfect place to relax and enjoy. The service provided by staff was outstanding - friendly and caring but efficient from the minute I arrived. The villa is beautiful and well equiped right down to the thoughful bathroom toiletries in each of the villa bathooms. The swimming pool is fabulous - it was so easy to just stay there all day ! All in all a great place if you are looking for that peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of a big resort - but within easy reach of restaurants and nightlfe when you want them.

Always wanted to visit exotic Bali. What better place to stay than Taman.
What a beautiful house, with decor to die for. Have never seen such a fantastic
bathroom and even made friends with the frogs.
Staff were very helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the cooked breakfasts.
Located close to a Golf Course, though we didn't want to venture very far from
our lovely landscaped surroundings. Pool a great place to sit and recharge the
batteries.
A little far from town so a driver and a car recommended.

We enjoyed our stay very much....
The villa was very nice, calm, comfortable and well decorated. The stuff is also very kind, friendly and helpful.
The villa is well located and close to the beach as well as the city center (Kuta). Renting a samll motobike or car would be useful to visit the beautiful area...
The only small remark, I would have is about cleanness of chinaware and tablecloths. It seems that they are not every day well cleaned.
The global note would be 9/10. Great.. :-)
