Additional Location Information
Monte Pego has been established for nearly 30 years, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful, rural and exclusive communities on the Costa Blanca North. In fact you can at a leap be in the equally beautiful Costa Azahar.
Situated about half way down the coast of Spain, Monte Pego is equidistant from both Alicante and Valencia airports. Whilst focused on tourism the area is a commercial area servicing the orange and citrus fruit industry, in addition a strong local focus on terracotta products allows for traditional industries to exist. The additional benefit of this is that the area is active 52 weeks of the year, and does not switch off at the end of the normal school holiday period in September, so bars and cafe's are still open in order for you to sit out in glorious Autumn or Spring Summer and make believe that you are enjoying the very best summers day that we all experienced in our youth!
Established as having a superb climate all the year round, with exceptionally clear nights, wonderful light, leading to a beautiful night sky allows for peace and quiet whilst totally relaxing in the joy of silence. Excellent views of meteor showers, the Mediterranean, allow for perfect rest and relaxation.
The nearby parent village of Pego is in itself a beautiful mix of local life and traditional Spanish village culture. Pego village provides at least three supermarkets and a weekly market.
Roads are not congested and lead to 40 Kilometres of golden sand, and rich blue Mediterranean Sea, all only 6 minutes drive away from our wonderful site.
There are regular local fiestas, which brings Spanish history into life through a cacophony of music, fireworks and incredibly spectacular street parades.
Oliva market on Friday is well worth a visit
The local love of Tour de Espania is reflected in well laid out and safe cycle routes, all off the road.
Monte Pego gives easy access to shops, stores, bars and restaurants, at least three outstanding golf courses, banks, tennis courts and nearby medical centres and hospitals. Ten minutes away is the newly opened La Marina shopping centre, 90,000 square metres of quality shops that offer fashion, furniture, entertainment, and food.
A few minutes drive towards the sea brings you to the bustling and historic fishing port of Denia, with its beautiful village houses, squares and cleans white blue-flag sandy beaches, from which the Costa Blanca takes its name.
Monte Pego keeps you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, calm tranquil clean fresh air with outstanding views to the sea and wonderful nature reserve. In our view it cannot be bettered!
Within easy reach of both Valencia and Alicante (98Km each) about 1 hr drive. Take advantage of no thrills flights from Bournemouth, Southampton, Bristol and regional airports.

We have just come back from a week at Casa Diana. We have 2 children 5years and 3 years. They had the best holiday ever - their words. My son was in the pool for hours!! The house was well equipped. Air con and fans worked well as it was very hot in aug. Lots to do in area - beaches, towns, lovely markets. Do need a car but roads not busy at all. Very helpful owners lots of info provided.

Dear Cheyne & the Marleys,
As I told you before, it was a holiday never to forget. Everything was perfectly arrenged. When we arrived after a two days drive, there was refreshment in the fridge. It was all nice and clean.
We were with our 4 kids (6, 11, 14 and 16 years) and the had never a dull moment. The pool, the internet and tele , and everyday a 15 min. drive to the beach. For 20 days sun, sea and ... very nice views.
But offcourse a few little points for the next quests. There are only 5 sunchairs, (allthough our youngest never used one). The sheets are a bit small. The use of the aircon (with the 5,00- card) needs a little more explanation. The bedrooms (1 and 2) could use a sunscreen (roll down shuter) We took 4 car-window-shuters and that worked. We were by car and had the guts to drive up de parking lane, but I only did that once! My car was to near to the ground, a warning about that could be helpfull. Don't worry no demage was done!!
Conclusion:
The house - 5 stars
The beach - 4 stars (Denia)
The surroundings / neighbourhood - 5 stars
and at last...The Marley's - 5 stars - you've been a great help the first few days when necessary.
I think we'll be back!

Casa Diana is the perfect place to stay if you want to sample "Real Spain". Up high in the mountain the views are beautiful. The villa is homely and has everything you could need including a lovely pool. There are plenty of local towns to visit and the beach at Oliva is just gorgeous. You will need a car and especially if you want to venture further afield to Valencia or alicante. Peaceful, tranquil setting. Casa Diana is perfect for a family holiday or a romantic retreat.I loved it.

Many thanks for your kind comments, for those that dont like heights Casa Diana does not feel at all like it is in the Moun6tains, more set on the lower slopes. In fact all the benefits of being away from the crowds whilst at the same time having wonderful views to the med and upto the moutains of Pego.

GlasgowFamily holiday at Casa Diana
Left on 07/23/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We were looking for a relaxing, comfortable and stress free family holiday (2 adulst and 3 kids) and Casa Diana provided this perfectly. The kids loved the pool and the inflatable toys and teh parents enjoyed relaxing outdoros on the lovel ptio with the BBQ. A car is essential if you want to get around (there is so much to see in the area) although there were many days when we did not leave the villa at all. The villa provided everything we wanted and the information and help from Cheyne was fantastic. We couldn't have asked for anything more and would thoroughly recommend Casa Diana.

Spent a fantastic week at Casa Diana in the glorious Spanish sunshine.Great villa which is well equipped with a lovely pool. Casa Diana is a real home from home and we settled in quickly to our holiday, the owner makes everything really easy before and during your stay.
Our boys (11 and 13) simply loved the freedom of being able to spend all day in the pool with dad providing BBQ food from the outdoor kitchen area. Verandah area is great in the evenings with views of the sun setting over the mountains. TV/DVD (with huge selection of DVD's) and Sky TV was welcome during the heat of the day and in the evenings.
Plenty of shopping facilities within a 10 minute drive and good value restaurants that suit a variety of tastes. We tried Wok Oriental (cooked to order and as much as you want) and the nearby grill restaurant (can't remember name but amazing steak), Swiss restaurant on Monte Pego comes highly recommended but we just didn't get chance to fit it in.
We did a bit of exploring into the nearby mountains and visited the waterfalls, Denia has a good beach and a nice atmosphere for wandering around the shops and restuarants. Aqualandia is a great waterpark which was visited twice (only planned to go once but it fitted in well on the way back to airport too)
All in all a great holiday, it was obvious that the owner really cares that you have a good holiday.
