New JerseyA great place to relax
Left on 05/14/2013 for a stay in May 2013
This villa is awesome! It is very close to the airpot. Kimsha beach, restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The property itself is spotless and stocked with everything you will need for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. I recommend renting a car if you want to explore the French side and other beaches. We found Kimsha to be very nice. Ila, the property manager is very attentive and responds to all your needs. Our only complaint was that the WiFi was not working. We are told the owner will be fixing the problem net month (June).

As someone who normally attends all inclusvie resorts, this was a move away from our normal travel patterns and I must say, given the option, the benefits of your own "place" as opposed to bedroom... was wonderful. This was a very nicely decorated and outfitted condo, with very comfortable living accomodations with a nice view of the sunset from the top balcony. Down side is, you are not right on the beach... but it is a mere 150 walk to it, it has a small wading pool, so if you want a swim up bar and somewhere do swim laps, it won't work. However, the unit is nicely outfitted with plastic wine glasses to enjoy a morning or sunset soak together. This area of the bay is fairly rocky and not the nicest for swimming, so we spent most of your time at other beaches. It is a great spot for a romantic midnight stroll under the moonlight though. We had a 1 bedroom unit which had a king sized bed, nice sized bedroom and walk in shower. The booking process was very convenient online and Garo was very helpful with any questions I had. There was someone there to meet us when we arrived to supplied us with the keys, a tour and instructions on how everything operated. Check out was simple... just leave the keys and exit... no hassle and no line ups to contend with.
We had our breakfasts on the patio next to the pool which is nicely landscaped and very private. It is a gated complex so there are few people around apart from the odd guest. The difference in not having to eat with 1500 other people every meal, sit around a pool crammed with hundreds and needing to function on a schedule made this by far one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. We would definitely choose this option of accomodation over the box hotels again. There is no phone, so if you need to make calls, I would by a local phone to use while there. The complex has wireless, but after trying for an hour to get it connected the first day, realized I could only get a strong enough signal on the balcony, which was fine for when we needed it.
If considering this, it is worth noting that you need a car. There are amenities within a short walking distance such as a small grocery store, piano bar, several nice restaurants, boutiques, and outdoor patio pubs, but if you want to visit the French side of the island your only option would be local bus or taxi. Beware of rental car scams and do your homework and car inspectons carefully. The location in Simpson's Bay is close to the airport and within 30 min of most other points on the island.
We were also very surprised at what it cost us for food. Restaurants are very reasonable on the Dutch side, you need to be careful on the French... check the menu prices first. Grocery store food is definitely more expensive than Canada, but with what you save on wine, it easily offsets the price difference. This is definitely a thumbs up. -

New York City, New Yorkawesome condo in simpson bay
Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in February 2013
This place is amazing. I just came back from a 5 day trip with my GF. At the time of booking I was a little reluctant because it was $50~ more expensive than another hotel in Simpson Bay but glad we chose this place. The development has a handful of condo's and it is very quiet. We had a loft style unit with full kitchen which was very spacious.
The location is ideal - an easy walk down to the main street where you can go to bars, restaurants or book an excursion.
The place is new and very clean, the apartment came with everything we needed from kitchen supplies to towels (shower & beach).
The property manager as well as the owner of the unit were responsive to emails or questions we had prior to and during our stay.
We rented a car and parking was easy on the property. If you are visiting St Maarten/St Martin I would definitely recommend renting a car if you want to see a lot of the island. -

Blacksburg, VAThe best ever vacation stay
Left on 01/29/2013 for a stay in January 2013
Blue Pelican is a jewel. The unit has excellent service support from the property manager and local maintenance staff. It is quiet, very well equipped, and spotlessly clean. For St. Maarten, the location could hardly be better: It is within walking distance of the shore, shopping and restaurants, but not far by car from the airport, sailing harbor, and other amenities. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the veranda, watching birds and flowers with fresh air around us. For walkers and joggers, the interior compound driveway offers a traffic-free, pleasant workout. We recommend Blue Pelican Villas without any reservations whatsoever!

We are seasoned vacation renters and have had mixed results on previous rentals without one meeting our expectations, however, we now have number one! The property looks just the same as it does on the photos, new, clean, modern comfortable and quiet. Well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, WiFi, big TV stereo etc. The grounds are well maintained by friendly maintenance staff. It is gated so very secure. Although not an difficult walk to town, a car is probably recommended. We didn't bother but there were times when we felt it would have been an advantage. Close enough to the bars and restaurants but far enough away to get peace and quiet. Garo the owner and Ila the property manager are excellent, very helpful if/when needed. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Contact me if you needed and further information about this poperty.

Orlando, FLSt. Maarten and the Blue Pelican condos are worth visiting again
Left on 06/06/2012 for a stay in May 2012
My wife and I decided to vacation (last minute) in St. Maarten instead of our usual Hawaii trip, and we're so happy that we did. When we began our search for accommodations, we kept coming back to the Blue Pelican Vacation Rentals because of the visual quality (as seen on the Internet) AND because of the customer service that we received by the Owner himself! The Owner provided us with additional information and answered all of the annoying questions that First-Time travelers vacationing outside of the U.S. may ask. Then a couple days before our arrival, the Property Manager contacted us and continued to extend her personal services throughout our stay. She was Excellent! The location of the condo was perfect; in Pelican/Simpson Bay and just across the street was the beach! Peaceful, beautiful and clean. The condo itself was so lovely with contemporary furnishings and so close to everything. We also felt very safe walking to the stores and resturants close by but highly recommend renting a car to see other parts of the island. All in all, this trip was amazing. We plan on visiting again next year and will definitely stay at the Blue Pelican!

Here we found what we were looking for: very well maintained property, clean, confortable and safe. It looks just like on the photos provided on tripadvisor, you've got everything you need, it's very well furbished - it's just a pleasure to be inside (large LCD, wi-fi working also outside the building - can enjoy by the pool, air conditioning). It's as well a pleasure to be outside - the condo is situated in a small private area where only those who live in can get. This private area is not too big to give impression of a large vacation rental territory, but contains maybe around 10 condos like this, so that you feel there are some people around. It's not a beachfront one, but you can reach beach by foot if you want. We did that the first day, but then travelled to a new beach every day using the rented car. You can also reach some bars and a food shop by foot if required. From those we really liked the Bon appetit cafe. It's not a Grande Case one, but you might be impressed by their Creme Brulee and not only. We also liked the area around Blue Pelican Villas - it looked and felt quite safe. The property manager and his representative on the island were very helpful before and during the time of our stay and provided us with all the useful information we could think of. The representative even helped us to figure out some visa questions - we were trying to understand if we could go to St. Barth with our passports (not us citizens).
Only 2 small inconveniences. First, no heavy curtains in the bedroom, so the light came in quite early. I'm sure they would have quickly put them on at least taking those from downstairs, but we didn't ask - this made us leave for the beach earlier, which is good. Second, no large mirror to see yourself full length, kind of a bit annoying for 2 girls... -

Blue Pelican villas in St Marten
We arrived in St Marten after spending five days in anguilla. St, Marten is much different that anguilla. Only 20 mins from anguilla, yet the complete opposite. It is divided by two counties, Dutch side and French side. You can travel between the two easily as there is no real boarder. The way you can tell, is the French side prices are in Euros, and the Dutch is Florins. Both except dollars, however you dollar is worth much more on the Dutch side. Here it is very busy, and every square inch is build on. The cruise ships are on the Dutch side, and Phillipsburg is the spot for shopping, as my lovely wife would say. This is the third time in St Marteen, and I think our best time.
But, on to the Blue Pelican villas...My wife found it by watching Hgtv International as it was featured on the show. Very easy to get too from the airport. Less than five minutes. It is in an area that has a lot of buildings, and resturants. However, you take your car through a short driveway between two buildings to a large gate. You need a remote to activate it. Once inside the gate, you are amazed at this oasis. Very nice looking and well kept villas surrounding a plunge pool. The grounds are beautiful, very well maintained and you really have the sense of escape.
Inside, the villa there is a well appointed kitchen with up to date stainless steal appliances. Came in handy for morning breakfast. We ate out for lunch and dinner. A sitting room with large flat screen TV and stereo, along with a very comfortable sectional couch. Air conditioning throughout with two units, one downstairs and one upstairs. There is also a washer and dryer downstairs off the kitchen. Off the sitting room is the downstairs outdoor lanai, with a glass top dinning table and chairs.
Going up the stairs, leads you to the bedroom and bathroom. Very spacious for St Marteen. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bathroom has a walk in shower, very nice. The owner even included shower gel and shampoo that would come from a push of a button on the dispenser. Off the bedroom was the outdoor upstairs balcony with a partial view of the Caribbean. You can watch a cruise ship going by.
Overall review...I would definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend this place. The owner Garo, was an absolute pleasure to deal with for the rental. The woman who cleaned the home and greets you upon arrival, is named Ila. A very friendly person who will help with any questions you might have upon your arrival.
I would gladly answer any emails, and we cant wait to go back. Loved the Blue Pelican Villas -

This stylish, modern villa is perfect for a two person holiday. It is quiet and secluded among beautiful landscaping and you can walk to the beach, restaurants and the grocery. It is perfectly managed and you are graciously welcomed with wine and cheese. It is the ideal hideaway in St. Maarten.

This place is a special haven. The location is serene with tropical plants and birds chirping all around. It is also extremely quiet.
The grounds are well maintained and spotless.
The actual unit is similar to a townhouse. The decor is lovely and the space was so spacious for the two of us. We could not have asked for any other amenities as they were all there.
The construction and features were all current and high end ie granite counter-tops.
We ate our breakfast on the covered terrace which was great as it was raining one morning but were partially screened by the shrubs. We could say hello to the groundskeeper even though we were relaxing over our second coffee in our pj's.
We could walk to all the shops and numerous restaurants in the Simpson Bay area in 10 minutes or drive in 2. There were also restaurants on the road in which were only minutes away on foot.
We rented a car and drove to various beaches therefore did not use the local beach which was only a five minute walk.
The pool is quite small but the one afternoon I sat there it was sufficient to cool off in and as with the rest of the grounds the chairs were high end and the pool was pristine.
I would highly recommend this villa for a couple. Regardless of where one stays, most people rent a car as the island is easy to get around and worth exploring. It was nice being met by the property manager at our car rental since we did not know our way around.
We plan to go back and will most definitely stay in Blue Pelican. It's upscale all the way.

We would have a hard time promoting this rental enough. The unit was immaculate on our arrival with a bottle of wine and snacks on the counter.
Garo was so helpful in the whole transaction and we are grateful to him for this was our first visit to this beautiful island.
He arranged for his property manager Sheryille to pick us up at the airport and we would suggest you do the same as driving here the first time will be difficult.
The complex is gated and if I would have any suggestions it would be two gate openers in case you go separate ways at some point.
The grounds are as the unit, immaculate and peaceful. A real place to relax. Although you are not on the beach,a great ocean view and great sunsets are here.
You are within walking distance of all requirements including food, casinos and other entertainment.
Without rambling further we highly recommend Garo's unit number two. This was our best vacation and we will be returning to St. Maarten. Thank you Garo,Sheryille and the nice lady who cleaned the villa. -

This villa at Blue Pelican is beautiful!, we felt like at home... everything was perfect..., comfortable, clean, private, quite, and very well located. There are lots of restaurants, and bars, close by, and one of the most beautiful beaches at walking distance.
It was good to have available dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, liquid soap in the shower, and all that stuff which we didn't have to buy. Also, the free WiFi, was perfect.
Garo, the property owner, was so nice that even bought an iron for us! Sheryl, the property manager and her husband were also helpful and took good care of us.
I definitively recommend Blue Pelican!!! My husband and I are looking forward to going back next year.

My wife and I spent a fantastic 10 days at the Blue Pelican Villa. Our host was much more than helpful from the very beginning of our stay (Garo, thank you !!!). Villa is very quiet, private place, surrounded by plants. There had to be fully equipped kitchen and large living room. Nearby is a beach, albeit a very pleasant tour is another beach on the island each day:) Pretty close, you can find plenty of restaurants, bars - something nice for everyone:) It was really hard for us to leave the Blue Pelican Villa, when we had to go back home. We sincerely recommend this place especially for those who seek a peaceful, beautiful surroundings and really want to relax.

My wife and I had a great time staying at the Blue Pelican. The place is beautifully decorated with lots of room for the 2 of us. It also came with a pay-as-you-go cel phone which we found very convenient. There is a beach within walking distance, but I recomend renting a car so you can explore the rest of the island.
