Penwaun is a wonderful 400 year old riverside lodge cottage within 200 yards of Nevern village with its local pub and its historic Norman church. It is set in two acres of landscaped gardens, orchards and paddock, a picture of peace and tranquillity in an idyllic setting with wonderful river and woodland walks to explore. Penwaun offers 1 mile of fishing with 2 permits and some marvellous pools. Good catches of trout, sewin and salmon are annually recorded. Fishing rights available at 25 per week during the fishing season - please contact us for more information. The newly renovated cottage is still very much a family home with a comfortable... mixture of antique oak and more modern furniture that compliments the original retained features and gothic style windows. The spacious fitted oak kitchen diner with slate floor has French doors opening to a flagged terrace, a real sun trap, and offers lovely views to the river, 2 steps lead down to the lawned garden with further sheltered spots from where to enjoy the riverside aspect. The comfortable sitting room has a wonderful inglenook with open fire for cosying up in the evenings.Outbuildings across the courtyard have been cleverly converted to create a charming one bedroom annexe to accommodate another couple which can be booked only with Penwaun for your exclusive use, making a family group or party of friends totalling 9. Penwaun Bach has its own separate entrance - see Penwaun Bach 13194. A short drive takes you to the bustling little town of Newport where the river Nevern meets the sea. Enjoy its excellent shops, pubs and restaurants as well as its glorious sandy beaches, the estuary is a birdwatchers delight, while the golf course offers excellent sea views.   Penwaun is just stunning. I have been many times now and love it more every time I go. The new renovations have made it even better! The best bit is the huge kitchen with beautiful views over the river. The bedrooms are comfortable, the bathrooms are modern and clean, and the living/kitchen area is the perfect place to cook and relax with family and friends. The house is also in a lovely location. You can go for walks along the river and into the nearby woods and fields. You can also fish for delicious Sewin in the river. Newport Bay is only ten minutes away by car - beautiful beach where you can have picnics, go sailing, go kitesurfing, windsurfing, mackerel fishing and much more! I have also learnt to play golf at Newport Links golf club which has stunning views of Newport Bay. It really is the best holiday. You come away just wanting to go back again and again! Highly recommended :)
