Description from the owner
Beautifully situated halfway between Watkins Glen and Geneva on the west side of Seneca Lake, the log cabin provides an intimate getaway for two - or enough space to host a larger family gathering. The cabin is situated on a private point, offering a large amount of waterfront space with a dock, and a large side yard suitable for various lawn games. While the cabin interior has been updated recently (2010), it is a genuine log cabin which retains a rustic feel, with the logs visable from exterior as well as interior. The cabin is located midway down the west side of Seneca Lake, providing easy access to both Geneva and Watkins Glen, and...Read more

I came here last year and we had so much fun that i returned again this year with more friends! We had the best time and we love this cabin. It was relaxing! It was great to wake up every morning eating breakfast on the dock. Can't wait to return next year! The owners are amazing and so nice.

Bethesda, MarylandPeaceful and cozy hideaway, tucked in the heart of Finger Lakes
Left on 02/07/2012 for a stay in July 2011
Be sure to stock up on groceries and wine; because once you’re here you won’t want to leave. But if you must wander out, there are plenty of great wineries within earshot.
My wife and I had an absolutely enjoyable stay at the cabin. The accommodations were welcoming, the lake views breathtaking, and the ambiance inviting. We appreciated spending some quality time. I will certainly miss my mornings spent with coffee on the porch; my afternoons spent sipping wine on the dock, and my evenings spent mellowing out with hot chocolate by the fire. We are looking forward to a return visit! Thank you! -

Lewes, DELog cabin -- rustic and relaxing
Left on 09/28/2011 for a stay in September 2011
The lake and the cabin setting are perfect -- very quiet and seemingly remote, yet close to many things to do in the Finger Lakes. Locally, we explored some of the excellent small museums (esp. liked Geneva's Historical Society), hiked the Watkins Glen gorge trail and explored the Montezuma bird refuge/park on nearby Lake Cayuga. Wine-tasting at some of the Seneca Lake and nearby Keuka Lake wineries was fun. Enjoyed day trips to both Niagara Falls (about 2 hours) and Corning Glass (1+ hour) Spent lots of time reading and relaxing on the dock and screened in porch (delightful) in the morning and after returning from our daily adventures. The cabin was well-equipped and cozy (no secrets). All in all, a great week for us and good friends who joined us. The owner was very accommodating and friendly in email and phone contacts prior to our arrival.

BostonRelaxing Wine Country Escape!

Great Rustic Cottage right on Lake Seneca. Close to many of the Seneca Wine Trail Wineries. This was our main reason for visting this beautiful area and we were not disappointed. The wineries were right up there with Napa and Sonoma.
This was a much funner way to stay in the Fingerlakes than a B&B;!
Don't miss the Red Newt Bistro and renting a pontoon boat from Roy's! -

Washington, DCA nice escape from the city

I have been coming to our family cottage since before I can remember. Now, being an adult living in Washington, DC, I jump at every chance I can get to escape to this beautiful and relaxing location on Seneca Lake. The cottage is perfect for family gatherings or a vacation with friends/significant others and is located right in the heart of the Finger Lake's Wine Region.

Williamsport, PennsylvaniaRelaxing Vacation in Beautiful Wine Country
Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in August 2010
My boyfriend and I are avid visitors of the Seneca Lake region and were thrilled to find this adorable cabin available on the West side of the lake for a reasonable price. The owner was very helpful in providing information to all of our questions prior to booking and was flexible on dates--which was great because we were unable to stay a whole week. The cabin was bigger then we needed, but comfortably accomodates small or larger parties. We were grateful to be able to bring our yorkie, Lucie, and enjoyed sitting by the lake in the evening on the dock. The cabin was very comfortable and clean and provided everything we needed to be able to cook a few of our own meals. We were also in a good location to be able to visit all the wineries on the west side, and even travel to Geneva or Watkin's Glen for the day!
I would definitely recommend this lodging for anyone who wants a clean, rustic, cabin feel with a great view!

Newark, NYBest kept secret in the Finger Lakes!!
Left on 04/21/2011 for a stay in July 2009
Our family has been coming to this cabin for years. My son grew up at this cabin and we have so many memories with family and friends, plus our dogs!!! It is secluded with an absolutely beautiful view of seneca lake. The cabin is down to earth which makes you feel very comfortable. The yard is large enough for games and again our dogs and the private beach and dock is heaven!!! I wasn't sure if I wanted to write this review only because I want this "best kept secret" to stay a secret!

This was the first time we rented a house in the Finger Lakes and didn't know what to expect. It was a cute comfortable house, however, the lack of drinkable water was a problem. We were told to bring our own linens, yet every bed was made, so that was confusing. The only room that had walls up to the ceiling was the bathroom. Otherwise, there was very little privacy, since the walls were like cubicles at an office. It was fun for our first time, but we now look for a house that has private bedrooms and drinkable water.

While we have always tried to alert folks within the rental agreement to the fact that the water coming from the tap is filtered lake water (undrinkable), we have added a water cooler to the property this year (2011) to ease this burden - we know how inconvenient this can be and have always tried to keep plenty of jugs of clean water available! Indoors, the cabin does have a very open feel - the bathroom has a closed ceiling but the remaining rooms allow for looking up towards the log ceiling and the skylights above the dining room.
Best,

Rochester, NYHoneymoon on Seneca Lake (2 weeks of paradise)
Left on 04/21/2011 for a stay in June 2008
Love, love, love this little oasis of calm on Seneca Lake. Our initial stay was for our 2 week honeymoon and we could not have been more pleased with the accommodations, Colleen and Suzanne, the location or the peace and quiet! The kitchen is nicely outfitted, the back porch is an excellent evening spot, the deck is large and inviting - I could go on and on! Suffice it to say that we enjoyed ourselves so much that we've been back 3 more times! And will keep coming back as long as they will have us!
