The condo was perfect for our stay! Seven of us were perfectly comfortable. The location was perfect. We woke up looking at the gulf every morning! Even though it was chilly, we still walked the beach daily and hunted for shells and sand dollars. We were 2 doors down from Floribama which was a fun bar with decent food, great drinks and great entertainment. Do recommend the Bushwacker which is their specialty drink! Bring a Sharpie and extra bra and you will see why! We ate at Bubbas, Shrimp Basket and Cottons. All good food. Lots of kids stuff nearby. Overall we had one of our best vacations. The beach is by far one of the best we have been to!

From beginning to end it was so great !! Plenty of room for 2 adults and 4 kids (plus more if needed). Clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Location was great (not crowded at all). Beaches were nice for me...kids loved the pool. Grilling area was great too. The boys enjoyed the work out room also. Plus having security guard on site and walking around complex and pool area at night was a big positive. We will be back...Thank you so much !!!
Almost forgot...we arrived late and just entered code that I had received earlier, making arrival a breeze. -

We loved Spanish Key, its facilities and even the layout and size do the condo. But, the condo needs a little love. The carpet needs cleaned or replaced, the bedding is very old in master, the curtains are broken and the TV in the living room is ancient. The bedroom TVs were tiny, but functional.
Will I stay at this condo again? No, but I will stay at Spanish Key again.Response from Southern Vacation Rentals - 08/11/2012

This was our first stay at Spanish Key. The unit is very nice and the complex is small which is perfect. We were there the week of July 8-12. The beach wasn't crowed, elevators were quick, very family oriented condo complex. The only downside is the the carpet needs replaced or at least cleaned and a few cosmetic issues need addressed. None of this would keep me from staying in this unit again. This was a much needed vacation. I would recommend this for families or couples. Loved having individual bathrooms.

Condo was very clean and well equipped. The complex was clean and quiet. The beach was private and not overcrowded at all - even on a holiday weekend. Nice place for families. The only negative comment I would make is that the carpet in the family area was in need of shampooing. There were some stains that overshadowed the otherwise clean unit.

We have vacationed in the Perdido Key area for over 39 years until Hurricane Ivan destroyed our family condo at Vista del Mar. We have come back every year since except for last year. We went somewhere else due to the oil spill. We really missed our key and wanted to come back. We have never stayed at Spanish Key. It was a great condo. In fact, my 7 year old granddaughter commented as we were leaving that she wanted to come back to that condo next year.
We had a couple of problems. We got there an hour early for checkin and I gave the front desk lady my cell phone number. She said she would call me when the unit was ready. The check in a little bit too late even though I know there was a large turnover that weekend. I still have not received a call saying we could get in. We were unable to get on WiFi. Seems someone stole the wireless router. I called on Sunday and the nice lady from the actual building came up. We were able to use a cord I had from home to get on. The router was replaced on Monday but it did not work all the time. We had a couple of small maintenance things that I told them about on Saturday that I did not want to be accused of doing but they were not addressed. One was the front of the drawer at the wet bar was hanging off when we arrived and a nob on the entertainment center. Just wanted to make sure they knew we did not do that. The dishwasher had not been emptied and was the fullest I have ever seen a dishwasher. Every glass and mug were in there. It was so packed, things were not clean. The rest of the condo was great except there is no closet in the front bedroom. The one there is the owners closet and was locked. There needs to be some hooks or something to hang a few clothes but I hung mine in the laundry area. Overall, it is a great condo and we had a great time. Great to be back on the key. -

the place was great - very spacious with everything we needed. the room colors are vibrant and just what you want in a FL rental. check in was very simple and the one hitch we had with an early check in and not sending the right code was solved with a simple phone call - even answered on a Sunday. My family and I had a blast and will be back!

Condo was clean and comfortable, great location. We got a little rain so the indoor pool came in handy. No crowds on the beach or by the pool. Big table to play games around which we did every night. Only complaint- Would have been nice to at least have salt and pepper on hand.

The main reason that I rented this condo was because of it's location. I was looking for someplace close to the FloraBama as I was part of Skydiving event that took place there all weekend. The price was more than I have spent for similar condos at other locations, but I was willing to pay it. I was very happy with the size and cleanliness of the condo. The pool area was very nice.
My main complaint was that I was told I would have two parking spots and came in one night a little late only to be stopped by a security guard telling me that the parking lots were full and I would have to park in the empty lot next door. As a single female this was not a thrilling option.
Also some good things to make note of are: You will want to bring with you toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies (even dishwasher detergent if you should need to run it more than once).

Spanish Key does allow you to park two cars on the property but if the parking lot is full, there is additional parking provided across the street. There is also a board walk on the way back that is lit up with security for your safety. In your Welcome Packet Pointe South sends to all guests it states we provide 2 trash bags, 2 dishwasher tablets, 2 kitchen hand towels, 1 red cloth to wash dishes, 1 liquid soap, 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom and 1 paper towel roll for kitchen. I called Pointe South Vacation Rentals about a month before Mullet Toss. I asked for a list of places within a mile of Flora-Bama. They gave me several dozen options that were available, I gave them what I was looking for (eg. my price range, number of people with me), and they got me set right up. I was able to easily pay my first deposit over the phone, and then just mailed a check for the rest. The place was overwhelming. Everything needed for a stay at the beach for a weekend was provided for in this 3 bedroom condo. The master bedroom and bathroom were great. That part of the condo was the most overwhelming. I could walk to Flora-Bama in under 5 minutes. Check out short and simple. I even asked for a time extension the morning of my check out. All I did was walk in the office, drop off the keys, and I was done!

The Condo was very clean,comfortable, and reasonably well equipped. TVs could use updating and a small stereo would have been nice. Otherwise, nice accomodations. And, within easy walking distance of the Florabama!
