This is the third time we used Southern vacation rentals for our spring vacation in Perdido Key. We started of in a different condo when we came this time. And it didn't meet our expectations. Southern vacation rentals was very responsive to our complaints and quickly moved us into another beach condo.
Windemere 805 was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. I would recommend this apartment to anybody.

Our experience with 805 and Pointe South's management was mixed. Windemere is a great Condo complex (great location, pools, and exercise room)...Condo 805 needs attention. We slept like babies in the master bedroom and the kitchen and laundry room worked great. These were the only positives. The negatives: The couch is worn out. Pillow coverings are worn through to the stuffing. Couch cushions have no cushion left. I could not sit on the couch without the services of a Chiropractor. Tv reception on all TVs is poor. The picture is grainy and the picture routinely puzzles. Dining room chair cushions have been removed. You to sit on bare wicker. Pointe South management of this condo appears to run on automatic ...meaning little management and consideration of the guests. The condo phone was not activated upon our arrival and it took Pointe South 5 days to get it activated. Several routine maintenance services were scheduled during our stay (balcony inspection, termite inspection and service, and door locks changed)...at no time were we notified of these services. A man just showed up at the door wanting to do work...a couple times my wife was in the condo alone. The door combo lock change was troubling as it was conducted one day prior to our departure. The maintenance man gave us a temporary combo and said that Pointe South would be calling us within the hour with our permanent combo. Pointe South never called so we had to call them before they closed and got a new combo in order to not get locked out of the condo that evening. When the phone person came to activate our phone, we were out at the time. Upon our return we discovered that the cable boxes were removed from our TVs. No explanation. We thought that they must have needed replacing or that they were stolen. Again we had to call Pointe South for an explanation Bottomline: this condo needs an upgrade and Pointe South needs to better manage the condo with consideration of their guests. Read more

Thank you for informing is about the condition of your condo’s couch. We will inspect the unit and it’s furnishings and notify the owner about necessary replacements. Unfortunately, the Home Owner’s association that manages the Windermere recent changed phone service providers. Once you report the phone issue our guest service team notified H.O.A and the phone company. The company then came out and removed the older unnecessary equipment while repairing the issue.
As for the inspection of #805 during your stay; the HOA is required to post flyers in the elevators and common area to inform the guests why and when they will be entering the units. The moment we are aware of an inspection or something of that nature we immediately notify our guests. We can only apologize that there was a breakdown in communication as inspections and routine pest control are a must to maintaining a condominium.

We had a wonderful time. The condo was clean and decorated nicely.
Everything was as describe by the agent. The location was perfect and within walking distance of several restaurants. We loved everything.

Outside of the major maintenance issues (both beds were broke/disrepair upon our arrival (one collapsed and one sagged in the middle) but were fixed the same day we informed them/balcony door was stuck then became unhinged causing the door to stay open all night on a Sunday) the rental is a good spot if the price is below market. The artwork and decor were quirky and appreciated. Actually loved all the art in the property.
But if you enjoy high end amenities in your condo, this is not the rental for you. Electric coil stovetop, broken can openers, small 20 inch or smaller Tv's in all of the bedrooms and the living room, and standard tubs keep this condo from stepping out of the crowd. The bedroom Tv's have a different cable stations than the living room which is odd. Also the balcony lacks a long chair for those that like to read/sleep/relax outside on the balcony.
The booking team at Southern Resorts/Pointe Resorts were great and considering the maintenance issues we had, we didnt have a problem with them coming out to fix them. But when we went to negotiate an extra night we got the run around since the inhouse call center and the booking center are in two different states and no one seemed to know/want the responsibility of discussing extra days at a negotiated cost. After an hour of getting transfered and cut off we finally spoke with a nice lady who got us what we were looking for from her supervisor.
As for the Windemere itself, the pool was a bit disappointing and the size of the jacuzzi is small and the heat jets at your feet are painfully hot. They only have 2 onsite BBQ pits so if you get down late you may not be able to grill. This unit also does not come with beach chair/umbrella service so be sure to budget $25.00 plus an expected tip for all day service each day you go down to the beach. Best thing about the property is that on both sides there are vacant lots/gov owned beach areas so it was never too crowded like you will find in Destin.

This condo was outstanding! It was easy from the get go when I started dealing with reservations and the pictures of the condo don't do it justice. When I go to on a trip I like for my lodging to be the way I imagine the area should be. #805 was everything I could want for a tropical getaway! Bravo to the decorator! The colors and style were so refreshing and relaxing! I felt like I was swept away to another time. This was our first trip to Perdido Key and I can't wait to return! We have stayed in a lot of different places in our travels all over the world and next to Tahiti this would top the list!

This condo is perfect for a family vacation! There is so much space and the unit is decorated beautifully. Every morning we would have breakfast on the balcony and watch the dolphins play. We will definitely be back!
The condo was great. Right on the beach. It had everything I need. The only down side was noisy neighbors the 1st day there. The information provided gave numbers to call the those numbers were worthless.

Overall this was a good value for the money, the view was amazing and the condo complex was nice, right on the water, the condo itself was right next to the elevator, with a bedroom window about two feet from the elevator. However, the windows seemed pretty well insulated and we didn't notice much noise. The condo unit smelled like it had been shut up for a while. Some Febreze would have been nice. Also we didn't get the "guidebook" about what to do in the area, when and what to do at check out until the day before we left. That didn't affect our vacation because we knew the area but if someone wasn't familiar with the area that could be a problem. Overall a good experience.

This was a very nice clean unit. The only minor complaints I would have were the outdated TVs and a slightly scooped matress in the 2nd bedroom. Very convenient and fast elevators. Nice location. Quiet, but easy to access food and entertainment. I would stay here again.

Wow! The first words my wife utterd when we opened the door to the condo. Vivid, yet appropriate colors, greeted us in a comfortable well appointed condo with a fantastic view of the ocean. The condo unit as well as the entire Windemere was clean, quiet and exactly what we were looking for. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to others. We rented thru Point South Realty, working with Kara, and were very satisfied. She was pleasant, courtious, and very professional. She even lined my wife up with a hairdresser. Thanks for your help in making this one of our best vacations.
PS. Next time please have the tempature about 10 degrees warmer, thanks.

The condo was perfect for what I needed. Great location, right on the beach, with easy access to other locations of interest. The kitchen was well stocked and the bath and bed linens were fine. I would also recommend this unit to others.
