BENVENUTI ALLA PETRONILLA
La Petronilla nasce dall'idea di Francesco che, insieme al padre Dino e alla madre Elda, decide di ristrutturare l'antica casa d'infanzia della nonna, Petronilla Federici.
L'amore per questo luogo ha permesso di dedicare la massima cura ad ogni piccolo dettaglio, riportando l'edificio ai fasti del lontano passato. Si narra infatti che La Petronilla fosse stata residenza di Conti, Marchesi e Vescovi ne sono testimonianza i soffitti dipinti a mano, l'effige papale che richiama tre diversi casati e la presenza di una acquasantiera. Travi in legno faccia a vista, mobili dell'epoca in arte povera e letti in ferro battuto originali, sapientemente restaurati dalle mani di Dino, contribuiscono a ricreare l'armonia strutturale dell'edificio.
La Petronilla è parte delle antiche mura di cinta del piccolo Borgo Medioevale di Montepetriolo, e dalle sue stanze potrai godere di un panorama mozzafiato sulla Valle Umbra ed ogni tuo risveglio sarà accompagnato dai rumori della natura incontaminata che la circonda. Distante soltanto pochi minuti dalle città storiche e culturali dell'Umbria, questo posto, immerso in un angolo di verde, potrà farti riscoprire la delicatezza del silenzio ed il calore dell'ambiente familiare.
WELCOME TO PETRONILLA
La Petronilla is the brainchild of Francesco who, together with his father Dino and mother Elda, decided to renovate the historic childhood home of his grandmother, Petronilla Federici.
The family’s love for this place allowed them to dedicate the utmost attention to every little detail, restoring the building to its former glory of a distant past. It is said that La Petronilla was actually the residence of counts, marquises and bishops, as evidenced by the hand-painted ceilings, the papal effigy that recalls three different families and the presence of a holy water font. Exposed wooden beams, rustic period furniture and original wrought iron beds, carefully restored by the hands of Dino, help to recreate the structural harmony of the building.
La Petronilla is built into the ancient walls of the small medieval village of Montepetriolo. From its rooms you can enjoy breathtaking views over the Umbrian Valley and each morning you will awaken to the sounds of the pristine natural surroundings. Only a few minutes from the historic and cultural cities of Umbria, this place, nestled in a verdant oasis, will allow you to rediscover the lovely charm of silence and the warmth of a family atmosphere.
